Laptop got sent away for repairs, so I'm writing from my iPad mini. Posts might be briefer than usual til it comes back from the shop.

Luka ordered a glass of water (with a straw) for Jim. "Don't worry, once the initial shock goes away you'll be singin' and dancin' in the streets. Tons of Terrans drink this stuff, you'll be fine." she said to him.
Frustrated by the stark lack of intelligent thought or reason coming from the creature, Kabiri shut her mind off to it. She looked around and realized that the camp was divided in two; half of the team was safely back in the ship, but the other half was scattered panicked around the newly established camp, trying to fill their arms with as much equipment as possible before the creature could destroy it all. Fearing that they were looking out for the items more than their own safety, Kabiri decided to use her influence differently. Closing her eyes agin, she focused her mind on those scrambling around her, trying to get them to save themselves over the equipment. For all they knew, there could be another monster ready to burst out of the forest.
Luka smiled mischievously. "Enjoying it, buddy?" she asked, patting his shoulder. "You don't that kind of juice back on Earth, do you?" Being so large in stature (and a fairly heavy drinker anyway), it took Luka more than one shot to get to the state Jim was in. She didn't regularly drink something so strong, but unlike strong Terran and Almystan liquor, ukudubula didn't leave you with a such a bad hangover.
Can I join? :D
Kabiri didn't have to be told twice; as soon as Rocky set her down, she made a beeline for the ship, but was trapped outside behind the somewhat small but panicked crowd trying to get back in there. She turned to look one again at the beast, now that she was a safe(ish) distance from it. Though she was unable to do anything to it physically, perhaps she could do something mentally to help the team? It was a long shot, she thought, but it was worth a try. She focused deeply on the beast, trying to hear and understand it's mind and soul. Perhaps she could discover a weakness, or why it was so agitated.
Interested :D
Kabiri barely had time to turn around and take one quick step away from the sound before Rocky grabbed her and started running back to the camp. For a ver brief moment, she reflexively struggled against him, but stopped when she realized he was helping her. She couldn't do much from her position, so she simply hoped that Rocky was faster than whatever made that noise.

The bartender retrieved a full-looking bottle of a dark, viscous liquid. The plain label on it read "Ukudubula," though nothing else was readily understandable.
Luka smiled, slightly mischievous. "You've probably never had this. It's a Zaratic drink that traditionally was just for storytellers; I'm pretty sure that Terrans usually stay away from it, it's a little strong." she grabbed her shot off the counter and downed it like it was nothing. "Think you can handle it?"
Kabiri stopped by Rocky and took a moment to catch her breath. "I'm sorry, it's been a while since I've been out scouting. Thanks for stopping, though." she said. She tried to look over the nearby foliage to see Lyco, but she couldn't see anything over the huge shrubs and vines. "We must be close at this point. Can you see anything?"

Luka grinned and looked down at Jim, lightly punching him in the shoulder as the bar patrons raised their glasses to him. "Looks like you're a little famous 'round here." she said. Luka approached the bar and ordered two shots of something called ukudubula. "Got a little challenge for you, music man, if you're up to it."
"Oh, that Terran place?" Luka thought it over for a moment, trying to remember if she'd been there before. She doubted it. "Sounds fine by me, let's go."

Kabiri tried to keep close to Rocky, though it was difficult for her to keep pace on the overgrown ground. Like most of her kind, the didn't wear shoes, as her avian feet were quite tough on their own. However, on such terrain it was difficult to keep up speed, especially after spending so much time on the station.
Sorry my posts have been so sparse and terrible. My schedule has been insane this week, and it doesn't look like it's going to get much better any time soon :<
