I read a lot of fanfiction. An almost ridiculous amount of fanfiction, actually. If there are any fandom RPs out there for the fandoms I'm interested in, I'll most likely join.

From the waist up, she's a stunning, green haired, yellow eyed woman. She wears a green wrap skirt around her waist, to hide the transition from human to snake, and a white crop top that covers more of her than it does in the picture. Danielle looks a year or so younger than she actually is, which she is learning to use to her advantage. Personality: Danielle is cunning, sly, and seductive, using her looks to her advantage. As a hunter, her patience is one of her best traits; she could wait all day and far into the night to spring. She appears to be somewhat smug and amused most of the time, when really, she just wants to go home. Wherever home is. Animal talents/aspects: As mentioned above, Danielle's lower half is a snake. She also has several snake senses; picking up vibrations, chemical detection, and movement detection. She can slither pretty fast, and lunge even faster. Other: Danielle's python companion is a female named Ssriss. Danielle is known to the trainers as Subject S7 - Snake Seven - meaning that she's the seventh demi-snake to be trained. Her mother was a snake specialist working at the local zoo, and was handling a sick python during the 24-hour period.
Name: Kian Age: 15 Gender: Male Animal half: Raven Appearance: Rather pale skin, black hair, black eyes, unusual scars, 5'9". He wears a close-fitting black Kevlar jumpsuit cut to accommodate his jet black wings, custom black boots, and flight goggles equipped with night vision and heat vision settings. Personality: A bit of a loner, more by circumstances than choice; once he gets used to talking, he'll be a snarky little shit, taking any opportunity to amuse himself and his fellow demis at the expense of the humans. He's very curious and more intelligent than he lets on. Animal talents/aspects: Kian has huge jet black wings - they have to be large, to carry his body weight. He also has talons on his feet, hence why the custom boots. Shiny things grab his attention quickly. Other: Kian's raven companion is a female named Dusk. Kian is known to the trainers as Subject B17 - Bird Seventeen - as he's the 17th bird demi to be found. His father was a scientist researching birds, and Kian's mother was his assistant. They were experimenting with a raven during the 24-hour period.
There is a mutation, passed down among women. For the most part, this mutation lies dormant. Waiting. But at one crucial moment, during pregnancy, the mutation becomes active. It will stay active for 24 hours. If, during those 24 hours, the pregnant woman comes into contact with an animal, the mutation will latch onto that animal's DNA and the child will be born a demi.
Those carrying the mutation are rare. Demis are even more rare. However, rare though they be, the demis are dangerous. If they choose the wrong path, they could wreak untold destruction. And so they are rounded up before their third year, taken from their parents and raised in a government facility. They are disciplined harshly whenever they break the rules, and otherwise left alone.
Until they turn 15, the only companion they have is an animal of the kind that donated DNA to the demis. Then, the day after their birthday, they are taken away, to a training facility. There, the demis are turned into soldiers for the government. Whether they do so willingly matters not; one way or another, these teenagers are turned into weapons.
However, the existence of demis is not as secret as the government assumes. The mothers know. They spread the word. Many believed that what the government did was right, but one woman started a movement. She is gathering men and women to her banner, swearing them to secrecy, and planning an uprising. A coup. These revolutionaries will rise against the government, tear them down, and free the demis.
This woman is a mother of demis, and she wants her children back. She will free them and all like them, come hell or high water. She is known only by the name Elpis. Hope. For it is her goal to be Hope for the demis.
That is not all. The demis themselves have grown tired of isolation followed by near slavery. They are planning their own revolution, to overthrow the human government and replace it with a demi council. They are armed, trained, dangerous... and they will not fail.
Our characters would be mainly human in appearance, like the following: Human build, face, hands, and feet Animal ears, senses, tails, wings, and some fur Human intelligence, speech, and emotions Animal reflexes, abilities, and weapons - a demi-poison dart frog, for example, would have the poison of the frog
The age range for our characters is 15-25.
The training facility is out in the middle of nowhere, somewhere up north in the US. There's the barracks, a large building made up of rooms containing only a bed and a dresser, where the demis sleep; the menagerie, which is where the animal companions are kept; the gym, where demis are trained in hand-to-hand and using their animal abilities to their advantage; the range, where archery and gun training happens; the mess hall, a large building near the center of the compound; and the perimeter, a smooth concrete wall patrolled by soldiers at all times.
Little to no swearing, please. As for romance, please only up to kissing, hand-holding, etc. For anything more, ah, intimate, fade out, okay? Characters may fight; authors may not. Try not to make your characters too OP.
@Rakurai is right - our characters will have a blend of human and animal characteristics, but appear more human than otherwise. For example:

@Altered Tundra I'm still here, just... both my characters are out of commission for a bit - Serafina is who knows where and unconscious, and James is stuck in Raven's dreamscape and waiting for her to respond, so... *shrugs*
Wow, you've all put a lot of thought into this~ It's cool, and I don't mind if you plot things without me. I can read through, or if there's too much, I can ask for a summary, so go ahead!
@Rakurai Your character can be a demi-whatever, as long as you can come up with a plausible story for how it happened. As for the age range, I'm gonna say somewhere around 15-25 - old enough to be trained, but too young to be sent out yet.
"Not that close... I'd just met him." Kip shrugged and took a larger sip of the ale that she had been given. "It's just, no one I've known has ever died. And I was too busy looking after myself to help him." Her words ended with a bitter tone; it was fairly evident she blamed herself.
