With a short nod, Ella agreed the best course of action was to get things over with quickly and followed Marken out of the apartments, lightly holding his arm. She ignored Victoria as they passed the woman, having other things to worry about, and wondered to herself how the king would react to this news. She just couldn't pin down what kind of person he was just yet.

One Ella and Marken arrived in the dinner room, Ella had finally relaxed herself, even moreso when she realized that the king wasn't there yet. Maybe she and Marken would be able to enjoy breakfast before his father showed up and they all talked about the poison.

Taking a seat at the breakfast table with the help of a servant, Ella nervously fidgeted with her plate and tried to think of how to react if the king became defensive. She doubted Marken's own father would attack her, but there was always the chance that he would.
Blushing lightly as Marken kissed her, Ella leaned into her fiancé and enjoyed their closeness for the moment. After they finally parted, she saw the vial and frowned. Damn it, she didn't want to see that thing anymore. The sooner Marken told his father about the maid's plot, the better.

"Should I be there when you talk to him?" Ella asked a bit worriedly, "I'd rather hide somewhere, but if you think I should help..."

Ella trailed off as she looked away again. She didn't know the king very well yet, so there was no telling how he would react to this information. She almost didn't want to know.
Grumbling under her breath, Victoria made her way into Ella's side room as she couple stayed in bed, their bodies still snuggled together in the sheets. Now with the haze of sleep lifting, Ella remembered the night before, and that the situation between her and Marken had changed. What did they do now; were they supposed to talk more, or pretend like nothing happened?

"I love you..." Ella mumbled softly in a low breath. Leaning in, she gently kissed Marken's cheek and hugged him closer, wishing they would never have to leave Marken's huge bed anymore. She felt so much safer when he was close to her. Alas, Ella forced herself to pull away and sat up, scowling at Victoria a little as she came back into the room for a moment and pulled Marken's outfit for the day out.

"Could you kindly fuck off for a bit?" Ella suddenly asked out loud, her patience gone. The governess's eyes widened as she stepped back, acting as though Ella had struck her. Served the nosy hag right.

"You could at least pretend to have class!" the woman huffed, crossing her arms, "A young lady should never use such vulgar language, and certainly not in front of her fiance!" Ella rolled her eyes at Victoria's tirade, not at all offended by her words. She was all too familiar with the looks of scorn and the irritable sense of superiority that people seemed to have around her.

"I don't know if you remember," Ella sighed, "But the prince isn't marrying someone of higher class. Everyone else is very aware of my lineage, so why do you keep forgetting? I'm going to be affectionate if I want to, call parents mama and papa, and I'm going to talk any way I damn well please." Puffing up in her anger, Victoria turned on her heel and stomped out of Marken's room, slamming the door shut. Ella sighed and shook her head after, rubbing the back of her neck.
"I am just as much as a slave as you are, boy," Ingrid sighed bitterly, "If I didn't know for certain that Ava & I would have been killed, I would have taken my baby away long ago." She kept her gaze toward the fireplace as she contemplated whether she should tell Ava's bodyguard about her situation. He did care enough to stay in a hellhole to protect Ava.

"Ava isn't Jason's child," Ingrid admitted softly, "He's completely sterile. The fact that I had a child at all is thanks to his trickery; some time after our wedding night, Jason allowed one of his brother's to... have his way with me. Jason used the same spell to wipe my memories away as he probably used on Ava. Until I remembered how our child conceived, he was almost the perfect husband. But after I remembered... I had a choice to disappear, or come out here to live the rest of my days alone. & as you can imagine, I wasn't going to go the rest of my life without my child."

Ingrid kept her eyes averted from Andreios, her eyes far-off, as though she were remembering something that took her concentration. Moment later she sighed, standing from her chair & looking back at Andreios.

"Jason keeps me locked to this cottage with blood magic," Ingrid sighed, "But you can help Ava. She need to remember everything that happened & leave with you, If she doesn't remember soon-"

"Remember what, Mama?" Ava asked curiously as she came into the room. Ingrid's expression immediately brightened at the sight of Ava, shaking her head at the young woman.

"I was just telling your friend here that my memory isn't the same as it was," Ingrid lied, "I need to get my memory in order, or I'll always be worried you aren't coming to visit me anymore."
Cuddled against her fiancé, Ella fell asleep with her face buried into Marken's shoulder and her body curled up against his. She was so exhausted from the worry of the past two days, and it was like a huge weight had been lifted from her shoulders. It was more than she could ask for, Marken forgiving her and holding her through the night.

By morning, Ella felt rested and content, not even bothered when she opened her eyes to the scornful glare of the governess. Yawning lightly, Ella turned to face Marken again and buried her face into his chest, promptly ignoring the annoyed woman. She didn't feel like dealing with the crabby woman just yet.
Ella relaxed as Marken soothed her worries and hugged her against him. She rubbed her face against his shoulder and rested her head onto his chest as he spoke to her and teased her about him not being able to trust her. She wasn't slow, she understood that he was teasing.

All the same, she felt a little sting as he said it, knowing that it would probably be some time before Marken could fully trust her. She couldn't just assume that things would be so simply swept under the rug. Attempting assassination was nothing to be taken lightly. Just because she couldn't do it didn't change her previous intentions.

"Good night," Ella mumbled into Marken's neck as he held her, settling against him for the night. No matter what happened from here on out, she would be loyal to Marken.
"Well, we can't get rid of it, I guess," Ella grumbled, "It would be terrible if someone found it, or you could use it to incriminate the maid." Thinking for a moment, Ella decided that hiding the poison would be best and climbed from the bed. She walked over to a nearby pot of flowers and hid the vial inside before quickly making her way back to the bed and hugging Marken again.

Once she relaxed, she rubbed her face into Marken's shoulder, yawning softly. Now that Ella had gone through the ordeal of admitting everything to Marken, she was exhausted and content.

"This should be better," Ella mumbled, "I think we should just sleep for now. What about you?"
Ella clung to Marken as he held her, burying her face into his shoulder and sinking into his arms bonelessly. She could feel her entire being starting to relax as she rested against her fiancé. She felt so relieved now that she'd admitted what was going on, and Marken didn't hate her for it. She couldn't have dreamed of a better outcome.

"Marken, I l-love you," Ella suddenly blurted, blushing as she rested closer to him, "I-i'm sorry, this probably isn't the best time... b-but I felt I should say it."

Leaning up, Ella kissed Marken’s cheek. She clung to him while she felt her cheeks turn red, hoping she didn't speak of her feelings for him too quickly. Especially when she considered what she’d just admitted to him moments before.
"You don't hate me?" Ella asked, her gaze still down towards her lap, "You should, Marken. If I wasn't so weak-willed, I would have done something unforgivable to you."

Ella forced herself to look up at Marken, feeling an ache in her chest as she took in his face. Like he told her before, he didn't look angry at all. She couldn't understand it at all, she was so used to people reacting more... violently.
Ella finally relaxed after a few moments, mostly due to Marken's attempts to calm her. Breathing slowly, she leaned back and rubbed her eyes with the back of her hand.

Reaching down, Ella grabbed the poison vial and gave it to Marken, pulling her hands away like it stung to touch it. She felt like sobbing again and couldn't bear to look Marken, just in case he was furious with her. She couldn't imagine seeing his frustration, or else she wouldn't explain everything right.

"The maid who slipped that note to me the other day gave that to me," Ella confessed, "She told me that it was the only way I could go back to Toren. But I can't... No matter how I try to rationalize it, or tell myself that it would be merciful compared to what she had planned for you, but I can't bring myself to kill someone who doesn't deserve it."

Ella looked down at her hands as she spoke, knowing that Marken probably wanted to strangle her now. She'd probably be angry too if someone said they were plotting to kill her.

"Even if it means I have to betray King George, I won't do this," Ella mumbled, "I just can't blindly follow his orders now. You mean too much to me."
