Synopsis:
Andreios has been enslaved again by the man he once called master, James Wenham. But this time, he is more helpless than ever. The man who has expertly covered his cruelty from public eye secretly dangles his own daughter's life in front of Andreios, knowing that she, Ava, is his one weakness. Andreios had unwittingly fallen for the clumsy girl while he was still free, & would do anything to keep her safe.

However, Ava doesn't remember him at all. Her father has effectively wiped her mind clean of the past two years where she was escaped as well. She has moments of deja vu when they are together, but Andreios cannot tell her of their past together for the fear that Ava's father will step in & end her life, or worse, she will scorn him & completely ignore his warnings. As James becomes increasingly violent towards Ava & tries to push her into a terrible marriage to cover his tracks, Andreios must decide if he will watch the woman he misses suffer, or if he will risk everything to save them both.

Ava wasn't so sure that she was having a good morning. Although she was able to sleep in a little, eat her favorite breakfast, & her father was spending more time at the table than usual, she couldn't help but feel off, a bit more restless than usual. As she quietly ate her food & stared off into space, Doctor James Wenham closed his medical notes for a moment, looking at his daughter with an unreadable expression on his face.

"Ava, would you like to go visit your mother today?" the man asked, Ava perking up considerably. With a smile, James gestured to a maid before he went to Ava's chair, pulling her out into the corridor.

"I have a present for you, Dear," the father said quietly, "Seeing as you are becoming old enough to travel without my assistance, I hired an old friend to become your personal bodyguard. He will accompany you on your trips outside of our home, & stay close whenever I have to leave on business. Does that sound fair to you?" Still awestruck that she was being allowed to go visit her mother's healing cabin without her father hovering about, Ava nodded.

James took his daughter down to the main foyer where a man in daunting armor & remarkably familiar face stood near the exit. He didn't look very happy at all, but Ava supposed he was just a man with a sour attitude. She didn't mind as long as she was able to escape this huge prison for a few hours.

"Aranhil," Jason called, his voice a bit more stern, "This is my daughter, Ava. I trust that she will be in good care with your hands. See to it that she doesn't even suffer a scratch while she is away." Not seeing the wicked gleam in her father's eyes, Ava walked straight up to Aranhil & gave him a bit of a wobbly curtsy, wondering why she was so unsteady on her feet. It was like she hadn't bowed before someone in forever & her muscles couldn't remember how to do it at all; odd.

"Good morning, Lord Aranhil," Ava told her new bodyguard, "It is a pleasure to meet you. Please treat me kindly."

Synopsis:
Prince Marken discovers the woman he fawned over at his royal ball, Cinderella, was actually a spy named Ellanor, sent to gather intelligence on his kingdom & captures her with an offer. If she pretends to be his wife until the end of the war between their countries, he will let her free & they will never speak again. The two try to deny the genuine attraction between themselves, but when Marken's mother has an attempt on her life, & Ella's king abandons her, the two finally set aside their difference & begin to fight together for each other & their warring kingdoms.

Always walk like your shoes are made of glass.

Ellanor remembered this lesson well from ever since she was a child, when her lock-picking instructor taught her how to effectively steal information from a high-security building. These words were always gospel to her, saving her life on countless occasions. Quiet, quick feet assured an easy job, which she was sure tonight would be as well- as soon as she gave this bothersome prince the shake.

But so far, Prince Marken Caitiff of the Rhal kingdom wouldn't leave her sight for more than a few moments, dancing and conversing with only her. She knew the man was using this ball to find a bride of low-birth, probably to curry favor from his subjects that were about to be pitted against another country in war, so he should be meeting with more women and flirting more pathetic-looking members of society.

Ellanor tried not telling Marken her name, being as vague as possible, and lying about having a happy-go-lucky childhood to throw him off, but he was persistent. If he wasn't so damned attentive, she'd swear he'd realized she was here to steal his secrets. But time was running out, and soon her patience was wearing thin. If she didn't get the information tonight, her own people would be at a great disadvantage.

"My prince, I do believe I am monopolizing your time," Ellanor told Marken softly as midnight began to draw near, the two in the midst of yet another dance, "I really shouldn't keep you from the rest of your guests any longer."
By evening, Rose finally arrived at a nearby town, feeling sore & exhausted. She'd gotten no sleep at all with all of the talking & bumps in the road, so sleep was very much in order. After gathering her things, Rose slung her bag & gun over her shoulder, trekking the short distance to the nearest inn. She paid the innkeeper & then headed up to her room upstairs, stumbling a little when she accidentally bumped into a young man who looked like he couldn't be any older than her. Too bad she was trying to hunt down that wolf, he looked pretty attractive.

"Sorry," Rose told him with a tired smile. Giving him a small nod, she then finished her walk to her room & shut the door behind her, locking it & checking her window to make sure it was secured. Everything was secure before she climbed into bed, curled up with her hand holding her dagger under her pillow. After a nap, she'd search the town for any information on the wolf.
Completely lost, although she was seated between them, Rose watched her grandmother & the guest exchange the most obscure discussion ever, the mood going from tolerable pleasantness to full-blown discomfort. They were fighting over something, & it almost sounded like they were fighting over her. Lightly clearing her throat, Rose caught the other two's attention, giving them both her usual gentle smile. Maybe she could resolve this fight before it became too loud & violent. Willow wasn't a very ferocious woman, but she looked like she could take on their rather intimidating guest right now... & win.

"S-so, your name is Fenrir," Rose announced, trying to transition into more pleasant conversation, "Tell me, would that make you Mr. Fenrir, the kind gentleman who helped pay for my schooling & dowry? I must admit, you are younger than I thought. my grandmother had always given me the impression that you were older than her." Willow jumped a little at Rose's words, making Rose feel as though she said something she shouldn't have. With a disgruntled look, the old woman rubbed the back of her neck, putting down her fork.

"Rose, Mr. Fenrir is a little more involved in your life than being your benefactor," Willow admitted, "He is... he is your husband." Rose's gentle smile faded into a look of confusion, but steadily approaching to anger.

"Grandmother, you never told me that you were going to be forcing a suitor on me," Rose told the woman, her hands clenching on the tabletop. Willow frowned & shook her head, trying to reach out & hold Rose's wrist, only to touch the table as Rose pulled her hand away.

"Rose, there is no forcing a suitor on you," Willow said a bit more strongly, "He is already your husband." Rose's anger bloomed into full-blown rage at Willow's words, the gentle young woman from before replaced with a fiery, very angry person. Her dark green eyes glowed as she crossed her arms, her arms crossed now.

"I think I would remember getting married," Rose growled.

"Well, we had the ceremony when you were ten, so-"

"I was ten? How is that even legal?!"

"A guardian can give their child's hand in marriage as long as they give full consent, Rose."

Rose finally glared over at Fenrir, finally directing her frustration towards him. What kind of man was this creep, marrying a ten year old girl? He had to be at least thirty if he'd paid for all of her schooling, & he was luring small children into unholy unions.

"What is your problem?" Rose hissed at him, "Was craddle-robbing the only way you could get yourself a wife?"

"Rose!"

Glaring at them both unapologetically, Rose whirled around & stalked out of the dining room, whipping on her red cloak & going outside. Willow winced as the front door slammed shut, her hands going up to rub her temples. As much as she'd like to think Rose's display put off Fenrir, a part of him probably enjoyed the face that Rose was so... spirited.

"This is why I never told her," Willow grunted, "Even from a young age, she's had an independent streak in her. By the time she was old enough to understand her situation, she was already like this. Maybe you can get to her, but at this point, there's really nothing I can do but wait for her to eventually calm down."

..._..._...

By the time she reached her favorite tree at the nearby lake, Rose couldn't hold back her tears. They streamed down her cheeks as she pulled her hood on & slumped down, hugging her cloak closer as she sat down in the snow & tried to calm herself. She didn't care that she was probably ruining her dress, everything else was already ruined. Why was she being forced to marry a man she didn't even know? She didn't care how strong & attractive he was, it was disgusting!
