"Dimp imp, dim?" She really is an adorable one, huh? Ace commented on Sia and her reactions to Lizbeth saying the exact same thing. He gave her another wave and a small chuckle before climbing up on top of Lizbeth's head, needing a bit of movement as he'd stayed on her shoulder for enough time today. Though now he just lay on his stomach, looking towards Lilith and Sia.

"Yes, she is." Lizbeth said in agreement to reiterate her previous point. Then to reply to Lilith, she said "I couldn't agree more. I've been around wild Pokémon for most of my childhood, so I know just how smart they can be. I don't think I'll ever just decide on a name they won't like. It would be rude to them and insulting to their intelligence."

"As for Brock, I think I read on the site for the challenge that he uses Rock types. Now, I don't specifically have any Pokémon to deal with them, but Ace does know a pretty good Fighting move. I'm hoping that will do." She was confident in Ace's ability to fight, since he'd made short work of some Pokémon on the previous route. But should she catch more Pokémon? Or would it be better to just have Ace train and get stronger?

Those thoughts were quickly banished when she heard Ezra call to her, all worried about her. He hurried over and was himself almost immediately in her face after first putting his phone up to her face. That made Lizbeth go red quicker than Cinderace kicking its Pyro Ball. She was gonna comment on his sister calling her wifey, but that wasn't her main concern right now.

Backing off a bit, Lizbeth told him "I-I can ass-sure you I'm-m fine! As-s she said, th-these are contacts! My eyes a-are really green and n-not red fr-from dehydr-ration! Geez..." She needed a moment to catch her breath and calm down from how sudden all that was and how much it took out of her, turning away from Ezra and Lilith for a moment.

After stabilizing her breath and her face now back to its normal light tan color, she looked back towards the other two. "Overreaction aside, I'm...grateful that you were worried about me and my health. So...thanks." A big grin was shown on her face, and Ace showed one too. Though he was annoyed towards Ezra for having done that to Lizbeth.
Before heading out, Lizbeth thought about putting Yena in her Premier Ball. The thought occurred to her that eventually she would have six Pokémon, as well as everyone else in the group, and some of them could potentially be rather large. Having all of them out at all times would be a bother. That would definitely impede her and everyone's progress through Kanto, though it would be quite a funny sight to go strolling around with 42 Pokémon spread amongst seven people.

But as Lizbeth only had the two right now, it would probably be fine to keep them both out. Perhaps once she had four or more Pokémon, she'd have to pick and choose who stayed out, though most likely Ace would at least be out of his.

Once outside, Hana handed all of them a blue-ish rice ball. "Thank you very much." Lizbeth said to her when she was handed one. She broke off two pieces for Ace and Yena both, who gobbled it quickly. Ace gave Hana a thumbs up for it, while Yena wasn't as impressed, but still didn't seem to dislike it. "I guess it's not something a Poochyena would normally have. Don't worry, I'll find you something else later on." Lizbeth gave Yena a pat on the head who in turn gave her a satisfactory bark. She herself took a bite out of the ponigiri, as Hana called it, and found it to be quite delicious. "Yeah, I can see why Ace likes it. It's really good. Could definitely go for more later, if you don't mind."

Lizbeth saw as Ezra approached Lilith, quite fast at that, who could be seen with a cup and a croissant. Seemed like it was coffee. Smelled like it was coffee when she got closer to her as well as she was wondering how Lilith in particular would react to her now red eyes. She kind of turned her nose away from the coffee as she didn't like the smell or taste of it. There was never any point in her trying it out, and she knew plenty of grown up people liked it, even if it was just to help them wake up. But she herself had refused to try it out, and thus still had a distaste for it.

She did her best not make her nose turning be noticeable. I don't think we've had a chance yet to talk, although I am aware that we haven't been that long on the journey. I believe I heard you say your name was Lilith earlier on route 1. As you may or may not remember from when we were being handed the Pokédexes earlier, I'm Lizbeth, and I'm from Galar. My partner here- She pointed her right hand at Ace, sitting comfortably on her left shoulder, who waved towards Lilith and Sia. "-is Ace, an Impidimp. I must say, your Litwick is very adorable."

Yena made her presence known by giving a single delighful bark and wagging her tail while standing beside Lizbeth. "And this is Yena. The...Poochyena. I know it's a very simple nickname, but she liked it." Lizbeth said with a small giggle.
When Lizbeth looked towards the trainer who had just arrived, she saw that he was the one she'd bumped into earlier downstairs.

"Hi... Urm I'm Ant. Were you lot at the meeting with Professor Oak this morning?"

"Ah, are you another trainer taking the challenge? I'm Lizbeth Rowe. And sorry again for bumping into you like that earlier." she said a little sheepishly and gave him a small wave. Ace waved towards him as well, and after making sure Fary was doing better, he climbed back up onto Lizbeth's shoulder.

Lizbeth gave her Poochyena some more petting before starting to really think about what to name her. "Well, this might sound a bit...simple, but why not Yena?" The Poochyena looked up towards her and gave a small bark. "Pooch, yena." Sure, that sounds fine. the newly named Yena said before lying back down and closing her eyes, ready for more petting, which Lizbeth happily gave her.
There wasn't much for Lizbeth to buy additionally for the journey, but she heard from the people visiting the store that the upcoming forest had its share of Bug and Poison types, so she opted to buy a few extra Antidotes. Three, to be specific. And to be extra cautious, she also got herself three Paralyze Heals and Awakenings. Where there are Bug types, there might also be Grass types, which meant troublesome spore moves. It'd be bad if Ace got paralyzed against a Poison type Pokémon. And I don't have any way to really deal with them yet.

On that note, she also bought five Pokéballs. She still had her ten Dusk Balls, but she didn't want to just use them all up quickly, and thus she needed other types of balls to use for capture. After paying for everything she bought, she headed back to the Pokémon Center to see if her Poochyena was all better. As she made her way inside, she accidentally bumped into another person. Just a light bump, nothing to make him fall down or anything. "Oh, I'm so sorry about that, I guess I was in a bit of a hurry to see my Pokémon again." The person she'd bumped into didn't look like he was feeling too well. He had brown hair, green eyes, and wore an ensemble of an olive green hoodie, black jeans and black trainers.

But she didn't have the time to stick around and hear a reply from him because not long after she got back, the receptionist nurse called for her. "Lizbeth Rowe, could you please come up to the reception desk to collect your Poochyena." could be heard on the intercom. Lizbeth gave the person a light wave and walked up to the receptionist nurse, who guided her to the right as opposed to the left. Seemed like it was a way for people to collect their now healed Pokémon without being in the way of those who needed aid for their injured Pokémon.

A nurse was holding her Poochyena, who seemed much more gentle now than she had when she'd fought her as she just lay peacefully in the nurse's arms. "We didn't have to do much for her, honestly. The fight seemed to have mainly tuckered her out, thought there were a few bruises here and there. But those have all been taken care of, and after we were done, we were a little shocked to see just how calm she became." The nurse handed the Poochyena over to Lizbeth, who held her for the time being. "Thank you very much all the same."

The nurse waved to Lizbeth who made her way up to the second floor. "We hope to see you again soon." was the last thing Lizbeth heard from her before the nurse went over to help another person out.

When Lizbeth got up, there were a few things for her to note. First, there was the smell of food that had been prepared by Hana, it seemed. Secondly, Ezra looked to be in a video call. And thirdly, both Fary and Ace were looking down.

Wait, Ace?

It was only just now that Lizbeth had noticed he wasn't with her. And while she was just about ready to put him into his Dusk Ball for a bit time out, he wasn't looking great. She knew exactly why he was, though. And as much as Lizbeth wanted to go over to Fary to see why she looked so down, she had to take care of her Pokémon first.

"Oh, Ace, you silly little scamp. Did your teasing and pranking go too far again?" Lizbeth said as she took a seat beside Ezra, not paying much attention to whatever Ezra's relatives might say about it. Ace looked towards Lizbeth, nodded his head, and walked over to her. He did see that the Poochyena he'd fought earlier was doing better now, and that did brighten his mood some. Though, the only thing Lizbeth's Poochyena was doing now was napping. Maybe she was still a bit tired.

"I'm sure you were just waiting for me before you did a certain something, right? Well, go on. Say it." Lizbeth urged Ace, who turned towards Ezra and Brie. "Imp." Sorry. he said with his head a bit down, but still looking at them both. Lizbeth gave him a pat on the head with a smile on her face. "There, there. I'm sure they'll find it in their hearts to forgive you if you're earnest about it." She put her hand on the table and he climbed up her arm and onto her shoulder, half hiding inside her hair, and peaking over her shoulder. "I hope he wasn't too much of a bother for you. I swear, I take my eyes off him for a second, and he's already up to no good."
As Lizbeth stepped into Viridian City, she thought it looked like a rather cosy little city. It kind of reminded her of Wedgehurst, though with a more city feel to it. The group appeared to be headed towards the Pokémon Center, and so she followed suit, as she did have one Pokémon that needed healing. Ace was still in top form despite the battle against the Rattata from earlier, though that one hadn't appeared particularly strong, anyway.

There was talk of food, but Lizbeth wanted to get her latest team member healed up first, as well as check out the Pokémart that was nearby. She headed towards the counter where a nurse stood, ready to start work for anyone who needed the help.

"Good day to you, miss. How can I help you today?" the nurse said with a comforting voice and a soothing smile. Lizbeth felt at ease, as if she could trust the woman to take good care of her injured Pokémon.

"I have a newly caught Poochyena who needs some care. I'm afraid that my Impidimp couldn't hold much back against her, but only because she didn't hold back either." The nurse was slightly surprised to see Ace just sitting on her shoulder, what with him being a Pokémon she'd never seen. Ace simply waved at her, and she returned the gesture.

Lizbeth took her Poochyena's Premier Ball off her belt and attempted to hand it over to the nurse, but she just politely pushed it back. "You must be new to this. You need to first take your Pokémon out of her respective ball, but come to the side where we receive your Pokémon for treatment."

The nurse motioned for Lizbeth to go to the left where she now saw that they did indeed have an area like that. It made sense, it'd be weird to just put an injured Pokémon right there on the reception counter. Especially if it was bleeding or something else like that. She did as she was asked and took her Poochyena out of her ball right there on the actual receiving counter. Poochyena was still a bit weakened from the earlier fight, and seemed somewhat calmer than before.

"We'll begin treatment immediately. It'll take a bit of time, so we ask that you don't wander too far away." Another nurse appeared after the previous one called for her, who put the Poochyena on a stroller and took her to a room in the back. "Would it be alright if I took a quick trip over to the Pokémart, then?" Lizbeth asked, since she didn't just want to sit and wait.

"Yes, that should be fine, but don't take too long. You mentioned your Poochyena was newly caught, which means she's still basically a wild Pokémon. Our nurses are of course trained to handle wild Pokémon, but it would still be for the best if their actual Trainer is there to receive them back when their treatment is done." With that, the nurse went back to the reception counter to help another Trainer with their Pokémon treatment, and Lizbeth decided to go and see what the Pokémart had to offer.

Meanwhile, Ace had snuck away due to the smell of the food, and saw Hana cooking using her own Pokémon as well. Maybe I can steal an early bite. That thought was quickly extinguished when he remembered what Hana's Pokémon was. Right, Pawniard. Steel type. Better not mess with it. Instead, he opted to video bomb Ezra by climbing up him and onto his shoulder, waving at the people he was talking to on the phone.
"Now, what to name her..." Lizbeth was thinking out loud as she held the Premier Ball containing her new Poochyena in her hands. Maybe it was a little too early to give her a nickname. She put the ball on her belt next to Ace's ball, and decided to leave it until possibly once they reached the first Pokémon Center.

Vivian joined her, congratulating her on the catch before commenting on her Budew. "She does appear to be a rambunctious little scamp, doesn't she?" She said with a small giggle.

"But yea, go ahead and ask, everybody does at some point. Plus I like talking about it, but I'm not gonna force you to listen if you don't wanna."

It was true that Lizbeth was curious about the egg, which is what she assumed Vivian was talking about, but had been hesitant to ask about it. Now was no different, though. "Perhaps another time." she said with a soft smile.

While talking to Vivian, Lizbeth took Ace down off her shoulder to have him do a bit of training on his own. "Imp impi! Dim!" I'll be back before I get too hurt! Promise! With that, he found a nearby Rattata to pick a fight with, who did not appreciate the disturbance to its peace.
"Oh, sorry to have startled you, I really didn't mean to do that." Lizbeth did feel a little bad about doing it, but felt better when Fary smiled back towards her. When Fary replied to Ezra's query, she felt that she could rely on her a bit more. It would be great to have someone who was familiar with the region.

Just then, a Budew, the one from before, approached them with a bag of crisps on its head. Before she could do anything, its trainer approached them to take the bag off of it. Vivian, as Lizbeth remembered from when they were handed their Pokédexes. Although, at first it just seemed like she was more approaching Fary than her, but that was fine. Maybe she just really wanted to talk to her. Lizbeth couldn't help, though, but to feel a tinge of being simply brushed aside, but she didn't let it affect her. This was fine.

Not too long after, anyway, Vivian turned towards Lizbeth, turning whiter than a salted cream Alcremie, apparently just genuinely not noticed her. It did kind of make Lizbeth feel a bit relieved that it wasn't just a case of her being ignored for malicious intent.

"Oh Arceus, I'm sorry about that.... I guess the introduction applies to you guys too, only fair right?"

She simply gave the woman a smile as she replied to her. "Oh, no worries. It's a pleasure to meet you, Vivian and Curry. My name is Lizbeth, and this little scoundrel..." She pointed towards her shoulder, but there was no one there. "Where in the world could he-" It didn't take her long to find that Ace had joined the newly arrived Brie in snacking on Vivian's cookies. "For heaven's sake, Ace, can't you stay still when you see others misbehave? You're still so easily influenced."

He just looked towards her and stuck his tongue out. "Impidimp! Impi, imp!" I couldn't just sit here and not have one! They smelled good, and taste even better! He motioned to high five Brie, but was grabbed by Lizbeth who folded both arms over the little goblin when she sat back down beside Fary. He knew well enough not to try and escape from her grip, or he would simply be put back in the ball. It had happened enough times as is. Lizbeth turned towards Vivian again.

"I do apologize, he might be nice most of the time, but he still misbehaves now and then. His name is Ace, although right now I think the proper name would be Menace." Ace just chuckled at the second name, but she simply ignored it. "I hope he wasn't being a bother."

While she was curious about Vivian's egg, she also noticed that some of the others were making ready to leave town. Fary had mentioned that they simply needed to head north to get out of town. Lizbeth stood up, putting Ace back on her shoulder. "Come now, you two. We mustn't let the others leave us behind." She was getting a bit giddy at the thought of starting a journey, meeting new Pokémon, and now possibly getting to know her fellow journey goers better. "We should see what new Pokémon we can meet. I hope there are Fairy or Psychic Pokémon." Motioning for the two of them to stand up, as well as poking and encouraging Brie to go back to her trainer, Ace joining in said poking, she made her way towards the route outside of Pallet, following behind Lilith, Ezra and Hana.

It wasn't too much to look at, but it was definitely still exciting. So many Pokémon wandering around, most hiding in the tall grass present here and there. Lizbeth asked her Rotom phone to scan them, since she didn't know all of them or their types. It appeared that most of them were Normal, with one who was also a Flying one, though that went without saying just by looking at it.

But one of them definitely caught her eye. The Dark type, Poochyena. Lizbeth approached one, who immediately growled at her. "Alright, Ace, this is our first battle. Do me proud, little guy." Ace hopped off her shoulder and made what he thought was a battle ready pose. "Impidimp!" You can count on me!

The Poochyena looked like it was ready to take him on, howling to bolster itself before going for a tackle. Ace narrowly dodged it, or so it seemed. It was a ploy to fake it out, letting him give it a good slap before it ran past him. This caused the Poochyena to flinch and give a little cry at the attack, but didn't stop long to feel sorry for itself, instead turning right back around as soon as it could to hit him again, this time actually hitting him. Ace was sent flying backwards into the grass, making Lizbeth worry. "Ace, be careful!" Her worry was unfounded, though, as he came right back, a little bit worse for wear, but still doing well enough to grin at his opponent.

As the Poochyena came back towards him, Ace went for a low kick this time, hitting its front legs, making it tumble over and roll towards the grass. It stopped itself before getting there, though, and growled at Ace. "Dimp, impi!" Growl all you want, I'm still winning and you know it! It lunged back at Ace, aiming to tackle him again. But instead, Ace grabbed onto it. With his teeth, using its attack to get closer and get off a bite attack. Holding onto it as it cried out in pain, Ace used the opportunity to kick it again, taking it down. It didn't seem to be struggling much at the moment, but that was no reason to wait. He looked towards Lizbeth who quickly rummaged in her backpack for her Premier Ball.

"Gotta mark our first catch of the region with this." She threw it at the Poochyena, who had become too fatigued to try and roll out of the way of the ball. It connected, and the Pokémon was sucked into the ball with a red light. The Premier Ball hit the ground, and Lizbeth watched in anticipation as it started wiggling once. She had only done this once before, when she had put Ace into his Dusk Ball, but that had been with consent, and only wiggled once before clicking. The ball wiggled a second time. Lizbeth grew a little more anxious. A third wiggle. "Come on..." And then...

Click.

The Poochyena had been caught. Lizbeth couldn't help but pump her fist into the air. "Yes! Got it!" She was so excited to have caught her first Pokémon from Kanto. Walking over to the ball and bending down to grab it, she looked at it in her hands with a wide smile. Ace quickly climbed up to her shoulder, definitely very tired from the battle, but not too tired for climbing. "Good work, Ace. You deserve this." Lizbeth had already grabbed a Potion from her backpack and sprayed the goblin with it. "Imp, dimpi. Impidimp imp."Damn, that feels nice. So this is what post battle treatment feels like. He had been curious about it when he'd watched trainers back in Glimwood Tangle treat their Pokémon with the various sprays they carried.

The Rotom phone returned to Lizbeth to give her the data she'd previously gotten for Poochyena, in addition to the information she got after catching it.

"I guess that explains why she was so adamant about fighting you. You were simply her prey." She teased Ace, poking him in the shoulder. "Dimp, imp, impidimp!" Oh yeah, well, the prey became the hunter in the end! They both chuckled at that remark before Lizbeth turned around to see that Hana was having her own battle, but seemed to have opted not to catch the Pokémon her Pawniard had fought, Zigzagoon judging by what the Pokédex in her Rotom phone told her.
“Are they only available in Galar? Would probably be killer on import costs…”

As Ezra asked her, Lizbeth thought about whether they actually were only available in Galar. She'd never really thought about it. But she could do one thing for him. "If you want, I could ask my Mum about it when I call her." She wasn't sure if her Mum could bring one with her and send to her daughter, let alone when that would even be due to the flights she was on, but asking was possible.

When they moved out, Ezra and one of the other women she hadn't introduced herself to, Hana seemed to be her name, talked about moving as a group. "Oh, that would be quite lovely. Ah, excuse my manners. My name is Lizbeth Rowe, as you no doubt heard from Gary. I come from Galar myself." It was starting to sound like most or all of them came from different regions than Kanto. Though she had so far only heard Hana and Fary mention their regions, she was curious whether Ezra and the other woman also came from somewhere else.

Lizbeth noticed that Fary had withdrawn herself, and although they were still strangers for the most part, she felt it wouldn't be right to just leave her alone, so she went over to her. "Excuse me." she said before sitting down beside her. Her Rotom phone had just finished scanning the Pokémon from the other people in their little group, so it retreated back into Lizbeth's pocket. "I like your drawing. Looks quite well drawn." she said to Fary with a soft smile. Ace nodded as she said that to show his agreement with her.
Lizbeth was grateful that Gary would explain to them again what he had previously said. She was honestly kind of dumbfounded that the old man was THE Professor Oak. Like, for real, it was him. She had of course heard about him, and he'd been mentioned on the challenge site anyway, but this was all just too damn weird.

She also appreciated that Fary wanted to take her outside, but instead of taking her up on the offer, she simply opted to just ask to hold hands before Gary then started to hand out their Pokédexes. He mentioned them being able to have it as an app, which Lizbeth would have to remember for after they were done there.

Which didn't seem like it would take all that much longer, given that the older Oak was back. With a shoebox. Lizbeth tightened her grip on Fary's hand as he came back, but he didn't yell in her face again, and she sighed out of relief. Instead, a different type of yelling happened, as Oak had now apparently overwritten his own grandson's name with quite the inappropriate name. It wasn't at all funny to her, but there was no time to say much about it as Gary went out in quite a huff and was gone when she went out.

That was...definitely something, alright. Best stay clear from him until later. Much, much later. With all of that over and done with, she allowed herself to let go of Fary's hand, if only while she was downloading the Pokédex app on her phone. The Rotom inside hovered with the phone in front of her, and once it was done, it was time to get started on some entries. There was only one first option.

Reading through the entry it gave her, she wasn't sure how to feel about it. "I had no idea you were capable of that, Ace. You could have told me, you know." She gave a small giggle towards the little goblin on her shoulder, who just gave her a grin back and a little chuckle of his own.
Following the rest of the group into the lab, doing her best to stay in the back, she had hoped that the lab of another region would be exciting to see. After all, the Professor of Galar had been lovely to see doing her job back at home, fitting well into her new role as Professor, so she was looking forward to seeing the Professor of Kanto.

What she hadn't expected was that despite staying in the back, she still got yelled at for no reason by an old man.

"HELLO LITTLE GIRL! Are you here to get your first Pokemon?"

With the man being right up in her face, Lizbeth got so startled, she couldn't make a coherent sentence, merely screaming in fear before making noises, then she went and hid behind the only person she knew there who was taller than her, Ezra. She clung tightly to his back as she hyperventilated due to the extreme interaction she just had, and tears forming in her eyes, a few rolling down her cheeks here and there. Ace was just about ready to clobber the old man, but he was more concerned with Lizbeth, and opted to stay on her shoulder, patting her cheek.

It took her a few moments to calm down enough to hear what the other man who'd been in the lab was saying, but she didn't catch more than just the tail end of his little speech. Specifically, just his question if they had any for him.

She wiped the tears off her face with her arm and peaked from behind Ezra's back as she spoke. "I...I have one...who in the blazing hell was that?" Lizbeth talked with a squeakier voice than she intended, but she had just been scared half to death by a man she had no idea who he was, and she didn't think he would be the Professor they were supposed to see. Maybe he was some homeless man who had barged in and stolen a lab coat?

Lizbeth was also too scared to actually feel nervous enough to stutter, so that was probably the one good thing the old man yelling at her had done. After seeing that the old man wasn't there, she braved forward to speak to the man again, hopefully not getting yelled at again. "I'm sorry, I actually didn't catch any of what you just said. That old man scared me too much for me to hear what you told us..." She hung her head low, Ace instead looking up at the man, obviously not happy about how Lizbeth had just been treated.
