Cavalry Uniforms
The HussarsThe Hussars wear grey overalls with buttons for use on campaign. They are stiffened with leather on the sabre side. The standard long boots are cut with strong, durable decoration on top, yellow/black edging, which was twisted to form a simple rosette at the top front. At the top of the helm is a pompon and pelisse worn over the dolman. The greatcoat was strapped across the pommel. The lambskin over the saddle is black.
Each regiment wears different colored uniforms. This list details the colors they wear:
41. Soldiers of the 41st wear dark blue dolman, pelisse and breeches, a black shako with yellow buttons, trim and pom pom.
42. Soldier of the 42nd wear light blue dolman, pelisse and breeches, a red shako with yellow buttons, trim and pom pom.
43. Soldier of the 43rd wear green dolman and pelisse, poppy red breeches, a light blue shako with white buttons, trim and pom pom.
44. Soldier of the 44th wear dark green dolman and pelisse, crimson red breeches, a red shako with white buttons, trim and pom pom.
The Uhlans (Lancers)The Uhlands wear a green jacket with red lapels and yellow buttons for all regiments. The pennons on lances are black over yellow. All wear green trousers with red stripes and strengthened with black leather on the bottom. On campaign they wear grey overalls. The lambskin on saddle is black. Their distinctive four-pointed Czapka has a different color for each regiment.

Cuirassier UniformsThe cuirassiers wear white jackets and white breeches. During campaign they wear grey (or grey-brown) overalls over, or instead of, the white breeches. The black boots are below knee. The cuirass is of blank iron, blackened, lined and trimmed at the edges with white leather. The breastplate only (Brustharnisch) is worn and fastened with a narrow whitened leather waist belt and straps which passed over the shoulders to cross at the back (kürasskreuz) and fastened to the rear of the waist belt, the tips of the straps fastening to the breast of the cuirass with black leather straps. All buckles and fittings are white metal. The comb, or crest, on the black leather helmet of cuirassiers is heightened, with a brass strip up the front. The helmet and cuirass are polished to a mirrored shine before battle. Men's hair is cut short, with sideburns extending no lower than the bottom of the ear. As with the infantry, moustaches are obligatory for the privates but officers must be clean shaven. The cuffs and trim are each of different colors for each regiment.

Dragoon UniformsThe Dragoons wore white jackets, buttoned to the waist and white breeches. They wore knee-high cavalry boots and wore a helmet with a comb, or crest, on a black leather helmet with a brass strip up the front. Dragoons carried saber, shortened musket and pistol. Each regiment used different colors for cuffs, collars, facings and their helmets.
