"Justice, like lightning, ever should appear to few men's ruin, but to all men's fear."
In 1982, Baron Zemo was building up political and personal power, when he drew up his final plan for world domination and the elimination of S.H.I.E.L.D and it's heroes. He would bring together super-villains as a team in order to achieve his goal of world control. This plan, however, was thwarted by Nick Fury and his agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Though, the idea of reforming supervillains in the conquest of a greater goal stuck in Fury's mind. He took the idea to the planning stages and eventually gathered enough Villains through blackmail, bribery, or numerous other methods in order to perform the tasks that other superhero groups such as the Avengers, or the Annhiliators, could not do for fear of social outcry or a massive downturn in the heroes approval ratings. These new 'heroes' would participate in Espionage, Wetwork, Anti-Terrorist, and numerous Black Bag Operations. This group would have to remain underground, however. The public was not to know of their existence, and so they were housed within an advanced Submarine - originally designed by Howard Stark and later begrudgingly redesigned by his son, Tony Stark, which remains constantly underwater or in a secure holding bay. From this location, the Thunderbolt Strike Team are able to plan and prepare for oncoming missions.
Maggia's Mistake
Nick Fury was given a heads-up from the Head Quartermaster of SHIELD...an important Supply Crate went missing, and all evidence points towards the Maggia Family - a world-infamous crime syndicate that specializes in your standard thieving, murders, assault, and street-crime. However, these weren't just common street thugs. The same evidence points the Thunderbolts towards a hidden bunker deep within the mountains, surrounding Colorado. The Supply Crate must be in there, somewhere. The plan is to sneak in and retrieve the Supply Crate at all costs; lethal force is, as always, allowed, and anyone that needs to be taken out in order for the mission to succeed...Must, and will be. The Supply Crate has been deduced to be in the bunker's lowest levels, as architect analyzers have come to the conclusion that the bunker goes deeper than one would expect. The entrance is hidden behind the ruse of an old hermit's hut, the bunker's large, steel door being hidden behind something in the hut's building. Be on the lookout for anything that catches your attention, and come back with your first mission marked as a Success.
Good luck, Thunderbolts.

The scent of the sea-salt air permeated Daniel Rand's senses, coupled with the roar of a stream of foul watery sewage pouring into the Gulf of Mexico. He felt a burning sensation in his eyes, causing him to cringe due to the unanticipated sunlight, which then quickly dissipated. Daniel untied his mask, taking it off and placing it in one of his pouches, before he leaped from the sewer pipe, twisting his body in such a way so he wouldn't land in the filthy patch of water below. Having been informed by Nick Fury that the Submarine was located deep in the Gulf, finding the submersible was obviously the Strike Team's first test.
Daniel peered down into the infinite blue, his enhanced senses spotting the blurry silhouette of the Submarine laying far below like an ancient sleeping leviathan. Having seen no alternative, Daniel realised he would have to swim his way down without any SCUBA gear. Shouldn't be too hard for the Iron Fist of K'un-Lun. Plunging headfirst in the water, Daniel kicked straight down towards the submarine, disregarding the burning of sea-salt, searching for warmer waters. Finally he detected the lukewarm metal of the submarine's hatch, his hands brushing against it until he felt a sharp pain on his finger, the submarine's security system puncturing it to scan his blood. He hoped to himself that there was no hungry sharks in the area.
With the hatch unlocked and his identity confirmed, Daniel swam into the sealed airlock, followed by gallons of rapid saltwater. Daniel closed the hatch firmly, stopping any more water from rushing in the cramped room. Before he could be overwhelmed entirely, the water drained away almost at once, but before he could move on into the next room, a blast of hot air unexpectedly filled the area, the heat immediately drying him.
Daniel Rand made his way down the ladder, eventually coming down into a dim corridor. Daniel took a deep breath as he felt the intense warmth of his Chi spreading downwards from his arm to his hand. Suddenly the entirety of his fist burst into a yellow 'flame', illuminating the dark metal walls surrounding him. Having just went through the sewers of Mexico, his eyes had already adjusted, but he still activated his Chi, not for illumination, but rather as a precaution. "Nice Night-light." announced the blonde, female S.H.I.E.L.D agent, who was waiting for Danny at the end of the corridor. "You probably want to put that out by the way, there's no smoking allowed on board." she continued "It's not actual fire, you know." Danny replied as he followed her advice, snuffing out the yellow energy, leaving them in darkness once again. "Tell that to the Captain." she said with a sly smile, almost as if it was an inside joke among the crew, as they descended down into Control.
"You're the first one here, by the way." she stated, her voicing echoing up and down the small, metallic staircase. "We assumed the others would have already rendezvoused here by now." she went on. Danny detected a small hint of disappointment in her voice, as if she was almost excited for what was about to happen. "Why, Agent. You almost sound dismayed." he declared. "No, it's not that." she laughed "It's the whole supply crate thing, you know." Daniel expressed his confusion as the Agent spoke again "Actually, never mind, you'll find out later, Mr. Rand."
Walking in the cramped, busy Control Room, Daniel scanned the various S.H.I.E.L.D agents at their consoles, expertly running the submerged 7800 ton Submarine, that himself and the rest of the Thunderbolts will come to call their home. "Captain Corbett." saluted the Agent, addressing the tall, middle aged man at the helm. Captain Corbett ordered her to be at ease as he eyed Danny. "Thank you, Agent Morse. You may go now" he instructed with a smile. "Hey, wait. Do I know you?" asked Danny as Agent Morse took her leave to attend her other duties. "Unless you unironically dress in purple and shoot arrows, then no." she stated with a simper before leaving the Control Room. Daniel couldn't help the small smirk that formed on his face at the woman's cheek. Turning around, he purposely left the control room, getting directions from a passing engineer as to the location and number of his cabin. It only took a few seconds to find it; all of the rooms looked the same, other than the large, emblazoned numbers on the doors. His Number was 1-A. He entered the room, sitting down and untying the bandages wrapped around his hands. Daniel was about to began meditation in preparation for whatever was coming their way, when he was cut off by a mechanical voice, coming through the speakers.
"Briefing in 30 minutes. I repeat, Briefing in 30 minutes."
It's not an actual Skype group for the RP. Asuu, Mr_pink, and I have been using it to discuss the OOC as well as details about the IC. We've been Skype contacts long before the formation of this RP.
Chi Augmentation: Through concentration, Daniel can harness his mystical chi to augment his physical and mental capabilities to superhuman levels. Additionally Daniel is able to channel the Shou-Lao chi into a ranged weapon, such as a gun or bow, increasing its striking capabilities.
Iron Fist Punch: By summoning his chi and focusing it into his hand, Luke can draw upon the superhuman energy derived from the heart of the mystic serpent Shou-Lao and make his fist extremely powerful and resistant to injury and pain on a superhuman scale. This "iron fist" technique does not involve a physical transformation of any kind, simply a psychic channeling of concentrated natural energy. With his fist in this state, Rand can shatter wood and brick, rip through steel, and punch his opponents with extraordinary concussive force without sustaining injury to himself.
Energy Generation: Iron Fist can project his Chi into a ranged attack, sort of like an energy blast, though this can drain his Chi quickly
Enhanced Healing: If he sustains injury or illness, Rand can focus his chi for the purposes of healing his injuries. Rand can also channel this energy into other people.
Environmental Adaptation: Through focus and meditation, Danny can sustain himself for extended periods of time in extreme temperature environments.
Skills:
Acrobatics: Due to his training involving martial arts, Daniel can preform extraordinary feats of balance, agility, and motor coordination
Marksmanship: Daniel is proficiently skilled in precision shooting, using projectile weapons such as bows and guns, with incredible accuracy.
Master Martial Artist: Daniel is trained in K’un-L’un’s martial arts and is proficient in many of Earth’s, including but not limited to; Kunlunquan, Shaolinquan, Judo, Aikido, Ninjutsu, Karate, Boxing and even loose street fighting tactics. He also has access to the knowledge, experience and skills of all Iron Fists before him.
Equipment: Aside from his ceremonial robe - which doesn't provide Daniel with any mystical or superhuman properties - he also carries two FN Five-Sevens, which provides additional firepower in case of emergencies, while also allowing him to continue with his acrobatics.
Personality: Inhumanly persistent, once Daniel chooses a course of action, nothing on Heaven or Earth can hinder him. Daniel is also mentally focused, as his power of Chi manipulation requires a calm, centralised mindset to control. Though his tenaciousness may seem rash to some, in actuality, he knows when to back down and try again with a different approach.
History: Daniel Rand was raised from birth to be his father's successor; An Iron Fist of K'un-Lun, an Assassin prepared to strike at the Heavenly City's enemies when K'un-Lun approached its decennial alignment with the Earthly realm.
Wendell Rand apprenticed his son to the martial arts master Lei Kung the Thunderer. Lei-Kung was the immortal martial arts master of K'un-Lun, charged by the ruler of K'un-Lun to train all the males of the city in hand-to-hand combat. He was an unparalleled master of K'un-Lun's martial arts, and trained generations of its inhabitants. Among his students were Daniel's father (Wendell, the previous Iron Fist) and all of Daniel's immediate predecessors. Lei-Kung trained every man and woman to ever bear the title Iron Fist.
Daniel's training under Lei Kung was rigorous - and at times harsh. At age sixteen, he earned the Crown of Fu-Hsi, King of the Vipers, vanquished four foes in the ritualistic Challenge of the Many, which was one less than his father when he went through the same cruel and grueling gauntlet, and defeated Shu-Hu, a mechanical being whose name means "Lightning". Daniel diligently conditioned his hands by thrusting them into tubs of hot sand, then gravel, and finally rock.
At age eighteen Daniel was given the privileged opportunity to gain the power of the Iron Fist. He was sent to battle the enormous fire-breathing serpent that all previous Iron Fists had to kill named Shou-Lao the Undying which lived in a cave outside the city and ferociously guarded a brazier containing its heart, which had mystically been removed from its body. In their battle Daniel used all his martial arts training he knew to distract Shou-Lao so he could jump onto its chest. Seeing his opening he grabbed the serpent's body, which bore a black scar resembling a dragon. Killing the serpent by thrusting both of his fists into the scar, it somehow imprinted itself upon Daniel's chest, Shou-Lao had now experienced his 67th death. After he made sure Shou-Lao was dead, Daniel plunged his hands into the now unguarded brazier containing the serpent's molten heart and his palms shone with a quasi-mystical force and earned the title "Iron Fist."
Wishing to see his father's home on Earth, but unable to due the fact that K'un-Lun only phases onto Earth every 10 years, Daniel was forced to wait another 8 months until he could leave. Hours before K'un-Lun was due to arrive on Earth, Wendell Rand was brutally killed by his rogues gallery led by the son of Lie Kung, Davos. Who had smuggled himself and the other villains into K'un-Lun 10 years earlier in a conspiracy and waited all these years, preparing to murder their old foe and his son to take Shou-Lao's power for himself. After assassinating Wendell they attempted to kill Daniel, before being attacked themselves by Lie Kung who along with an enraged Daniel chased them off back onto Earth. By now K'un-Lun had fully phased in Earth's dimension, Daniel immediately grabbed the ceremonial garb of Iron Fist that belonged to his father and gave chase to Davos, the trail had already run cold.
Ending up in the harsh environment of Tibet, Daniel was forced to endure freezing temperatures as he searched for any sign of Davos. There was no way that he was going to let this man get away with everything he had done. The freezing atmosphere calloused his body, but he soldiered on, his impossibly strong will allowing him to slave through the ice and snow without a single step of hesitation. He searched far and wide, ignoring colds, frostbitten feet, and hail-pelted skin...but it was all in vain. SHIELD found Daniel, collapsed in a snowy outcropping, still attempting to crawl forward through the sloshed ice. A heli-carrier's grappling hook dropped down, wrapping it's metal claws around his semi-frozen form, before bringing him into the warm helipad, the pilot ignoring his weak protest on orders of Nick Fury.
As he recovered, his robes draped over his shoulders, Daniel pondered over the offer. Thunderbolts...Fury had promised that it would eventually end with a lead towards Davos, and no matter how long it took, he would find that lead.
