Yes, I am looking for more people. Though I at this moment I rather doubt we will have enough people to even start. And if does come to that, oh well. Gonna try again a few months later, probably adding even more things, clearing up others, and general polish.

Though if we do get enough people to start, it would be very nice.
Well then, let's begin. By the way, the way I described others in the IC it's how John sees other people. Also, didn't want to expand too much on my first post, so I stopped at the "going to leave the temple" part.
Such a weird dream, and John wasn't sure what to make of it. He never payed attention to such random, trivial and useless stuff like dreams. After all, they're nothing more than a mishmash of mind's experiences while the body is in it's "maintenance mode". Except this time, it felt real. And you could remember clearly after waking up. Besides, something was... different. John felt different, and his bed felt different. Where is his blanket? When he opened his eyes, the answer was clear.

He was in really fancy medical pod, one he could really use himself. Except it was just a prop. It had to be. It had to be some kind of fancy prank show that's all the rage these days. They were being filmed right now. But kidnapping, drugging people, this is just insane. "Alright, whoever thought your cute little prank is funny, is going to be sued back to the stone age!" he shouted while looking around for any hidden cameras and getting out of the pod. However, the green lush lands beyond the window and the symbol just like the one of the "goddess" was everywhere. If this was a prank, and this room was just full of props, then this is some Hollywood level quality.

But with each passing second, where he expected laughing men to burst in and point the camera locations out, he believed that theory less and less. The four others, the dumb looking mouthbreathers who shared the same fate were just as clueless. "Hey kiddos, look for hidden cameras and faces to punch and sue." he said to his drooling companions. But it was unlikely it was an elaborate prank. It both scared and excited John. He wasn't one those close-minded scientists that discarded everything not proven. After all, there are many secrets in the world, you just gotta find them and learn all about them. This world is most likely vastly different from the one John came, but all of this made it even more exciting. No longer burdened by bothersome biological needs, John could achieve so much. Even if it ain't Earth.

A huge grin, even sinister grin appeared on his face. "Well kiddos, I'm going outside. As much as I would like to believe it all being an elaborate prank, it is extremely unlikely. So, you can either stand there and drool, or you could go and start the greatest achievement of your life - exploring a brave new world." And with that, John headed outside.
How many more people do you expect before starting an OOC?
AFAIK, Aether is sort of subtle alterations to existing elements. Fire + Dark, I dunno, some kind of twisted, corrupted version of fire I guess. Felfire/Hellfire, though I'm not sure what kind of properties it would have. Maybe increased ability to spread and very hard to put out? Sort of relentless, all consuming flame.
Altea - an island continent surrounded by a mysterious storm, blocking any entry or exit attempts. Since the beginning of Altea's recorded history, there always were special individuals capable of untold miracles. These individuals eventually were named "mages", and their power to manipulate reality was called "magic". It times before any uniform writing or civilization, they were called witches, priests, shamans, etc. - the names were many, but usually they all signified the awesome power of magic.

As the Folk of Altea started increasing in number and knowledge, so did magic increase in power and magnitude. With pagan deities debunked and forgotten, magic no longer viewed as some kind of divine gift - it was now a tool. And with this realization, human mages of Altea lost any kind of restraint, using magic for their own ends. As humanity's progress continued, so did their ambition. Kingdoms and Empires rose and fell, as those lucky enough to be born mages quickly learned that they can be on top of the society. Eventually, Kings and Emperors became nothing more than figureheads, if they were lucky enough not to get overthrown outright.

In the end, three superpowers remained, each led, directly or in the shadows, by a mage of unparalleled power. Their wars scarred the land, their greed and cruelty. choked the people living under them. And then, suddenly, change, and a sliver of hope came to the oppressed people of Altea. A warrior calling himself Grinnoc wielded power unlike any other - the power to repel and destroy magic. A brilliant white light which was warm and luminous, but burn away magic in any shape or form, included the magical energies within the bodies of mages. Grinnoc lent his power to others, with the goal of ending The Age of Magic. This power was called Luminence, and it's wielders - Luminous Knights.

As the Grinnoc Rebellion (as it was named) raged on, the loss of life was catastrophic. Slowly but surely losing, mages, in their desperation, would try to destroy as much as possible before falling, simply out of spite. In the end, Grinnoc won, but it was a Pyrrhic victory - the vast majority of the continent was rubble, or worse. Around 90% of total Folk population has died in the fighting. The only rather habitable lands were on the far east side of Altea. It is there where Luminous Knights built the capital of Altea - no more empires, no more kingdoms, no more division. Altea was to be in unity.

Or so Grinnoc claims...

Around 300 years later, society has recovered a bit. Nature violently reclaimed most of the ruined land, somewhat aided by the lingering remains of magics that ruined those very places 300 years ago. Slowly, this new society, fully controlled and governed by Grinnoc (who somehow does not age) and his Luminous Knights, is reclaiming the lands they lost.

For these 300 years, the remaining people of Altea enjoyed peace, as the ever vigilant Luminous Knights stood guard against any threat to the people. The future seemed bright, and yet, in the shadows, a storm brews, a storm that aims to shatter this fragile land.

OOC is here, with far, far more info and all the cool stuff.
Will do either that, or bump the original IC. After I read the forum rules, don't want no trouble with da mods.
@JohnSolarisThat's all I needed to know, thanks. Looking forward to the OOC.
Well, if biological analysis can be accomplished with Life element, that just works perfectly. A few more questions though:

1)I've made my character under the assumption that Life + Dark = Mutation, more or less. Am I correct on this?

2)Expanding on that, how would trying to offensively mutate others work? Like an infection which could transform/mutate the victim into a feral abomination. That is sort of a mind control, even though that would never specifically target the mind - it's the body and the brain that were forcibly changed.

3)What's an ambitious bioengineer with no morals without a zombie virus. How realistic would it be? All these assumes John studies/analyzes the species he wants to infect beforehand. Maybe even tailors his mutagens/viruses for specific races?
Reading through the accepted characters, it seems John and Rick share quite a bit of similarities, except the bad stuff John does is always solely for science, discovery and/or curiosity. Which brings me to a few questions.

1)Analysis magic. I would assume it would a psionic type, basically something that would allow John to analyse various tissues (and flora) to determine various things about them, allowing his Pharmaceutics skill to be of some use. Also allow him to expand his anatomy knowledge to more creatures, after he dissects them, of course.

2)Souls, more specifically, is something like dissecting a soul theoretically possible, and what would be the results, because John would do that if he could.
