"I honestly don't have any better options to suggest and I want this ordeal done as much as you two do, so let's go ahead with waking them up then. I'm sure they'll be grateful for their new upgrades and 'friends'," Rastun responds.
Gazing at the plan currently in action, Rastun feels pleased that one obstacle is out of the way. Inferno and Waspinator are less pleased as they scurry about, dodging numerous laser fire and ensuing explosions, but it was all for a greater good. He had a feeling they'll worm their way out anyway.

"So, that's done. What next? Do we go after Sideways now while all of that is going on?"
The swarm of ships kept firing at Rastun as they followed him, only for him to dodge or block them with the Astafanel's swords. He didn't bother returning fire this time and was only leading them to the current coordinates of those two bumblers. After some more dodging and weaving, the horde was right where they wanted them. Rastun decides to slow down time once more and disappears from the scene to leave the two sides to go kill each other.
"This isn't necessarily a problem." Megatron posited. "Why not simply lead the swarm to the Zod and let our enemies destroy each other. Regardless of who wins they will surely be weakened. One could argue if the swarm simply overruns the Zod we've done what Liege Maximo demanded and we can simply proceed on our mission."

Brainwave considered the idea. "I don't hate it..."

"I don't have any complaints either," Rastun said while he darts around, dodging enemy fire and returning his own. He flies away from the swarm, still continuing to blast away at them with the wrist cannons as he retreats in order to lure them. Rastun gradually leads them towards Waspinator and Inferno's location.
Rastun, along with his newfound ally, kept carving through the enemy hordes. None have gotten past them yet, especially thanks to Rastun's use of his Astafanel's ability to greatly slow down time. From the enemy's point of view, multitudes of their ships were destroyed seemingly simultaneously at times for some unseen reason. However, they still just kept on coming. Rastun wonders how the plan was coming along as he was shooting down six enemies when suddenly...

"Look Waspinator, The Royalty has begun his attack! Let us fulfill our duty to lure the culprit out for annihilation!"

"Waspinator not think that what that means ant-bot..."

"Nonsense Waspinator, it is our time to shine!" Inferno gleefully cheered as he charged the location of the Zod. "Burn in the fires of Inferno!" Followed by his trademark maniacal laughter was all anyone could hear over the coms.

"Perhaps giving ant-bot actual weapons was big mistake..." Waspinator pondered as a series of explosions went off.

Meanwhile back on the ship. "Oh great... the moron brigade mistook us engaging the unknown aggressors for a signal to attack." Brainwave sighed. "Why can't anything go right for once?"

Well, this is just fantastic. "So, should I keep trying to hold them off, or am I actually going to have to do something about their completely and totally unexpected screw-up?"

The Waldstar swarm was delayed but seemed endless

But suddenly

a Human figure riding a giant robot sped by.

"Ha!"

It began charging into the fleet destroying everything in its path.

When the missiles struck, multiple explosions blossomed on the blackness of space, lighting it in a dazzling and deadly display of firepower. The yields of those warheads were significantly higher than before thanks to the Transtech's modifications, and he was right when he said they'd keep them far enough away. However, there were definitely more coming. But then an armored humanoid charged towards the swarm and was cutting a swathe through them.

Rastun didn't need to be told to join in and help, immediately jumping into the fray and rapidly fired off blasts from his mech's wrist cannons. Meanwhile, Brainwave can only think of how convenient that timing was.
Rambos the field commander of the Waldstar saw the battle prepare to unfold on Mars.

"The Human ship Nadesico could be a threat to our invasion plan send the pursuit force ignore the Grandosians no need to spit up our forces. Heheheeh Human scum you will know our power!"

Rastun picked up more incoming bogeys on his sensors. This is turning out to be a clusterfuck. Brainwave is probably equally irate, if not more so. Just as Rastun was about to talk to him over the comms, the Transtech spoke first, "We're about to have more company, as you're undoubtedly aware."

"You honestly can't expect me to hold that many off myself. Some are likely going to get through, then Waspinator and Inferno are doomed, meaning the plan will be botched."

"I know, which is why I'll lend a bit of assistance."

The Nadesico proceeded to launch a barrage of missiles from its frontal section, dozens of them homing in towards their would-be adversaries.

"While part of me would like to use the bigger guns, which I made and modified myself, it would be good to not play all our cards too early. Those missiles should be sufficient to keep them far enough away," Brainwave said.

Mars Orbit, Near Side

"Sir, we've gotten a close match, it's likely a Vegan Scout! and two unknowns have been spotted on the far side in the path of our attack pattern, we believe it might be a fighter craft of some sort!"
"Those Vegan scum... how dare they get in the path of the Great Gradosian Empire!" Gosterro growled at the informant who could do nothing but swallow his spit as a reply.
"We won't let them steal this glorious moment of conquest! We'll move forward with the attack immediately! If those two unknown flying craft remain in our path shoot them down before they have a chance to respond!"
"But Sir, the other lieutenants have not yet given the call sign for complete preparations-"
"Then command them to finish on the double! Once our first strike is complete we'll snuff out the Vegan scum and wipe them off the surface as well!"
"Y-yes Sir! Right away!" The informant quickly left to pass on the orders while Gosterro silently seethed as he left his presence.
"Those damn bastards won't get in our way this time... but mere scouts won't be enough... I'll have Gale attack these "unknown crafts", with any luck a stray hit will get him out of my hair, heheheheh..."

The Nadesico's alternate command bridge, a pocket dimension away

Brainwave detected additional energy signatures, heading for Waspinator's and Inferno's position. Perfect, just what he needed, more complications. He simply grumbled then said over the comm link, "Rastun, we have company. Head over there and do something about them before they screw everything up. We'll handle things in the meanwhile."

"Yeah, saw them a few seconds ago, way ahead of you."

Dealing with the unexpected is part of the captain's job, though that fact didn't make this situation any more bearable.
In the back of his mind, Rastun wondered about how long the crew of the Nadesico would stay knocked out. He felt that it's been quite a while since Lance drugged them with the kool-aid, and them waking up right in the middle of this situation would be inopportune, even locked in their cabins as they are. Hopefully, the drug lasts long enough to keep them unconscious until after they dealt with this problem.
Waspinator's hesitance was wearing very thin on Brainwave. "Alright enough of this. Waspinator, you can either go be the bait or I can lobotomize you and then you can go be the bait. Pick one."

"Eugh fiiiine...Waspinator will go" Waspinator groaned dejectedly.

"Well, I'm glad that's settled," Rastun said. The threat of lobotomy can be a very effective tool of persuasion.
