@LaXnyd you could have given me more then an hour to respond. Also there is no reason for EVERYONE to have soul perception. They all have different skills. Also why would Zack tell Maka that class is about to start when Catherine is standing right next to her?

I'm sorry, it has been a while since I watched soul eater so some of my memory is a bit fuzzy. Also, if you were hoping to post I apologize, but I'm confused seeing as I only posted after you.

Not everyone in soul eater has soul perception, that's true. I thought, however, that that was because the show focused on students who were still developing and that they would all get it after they graduate. I thought it would be kinda necessary considering they fight witches who hide with soul protect and all.

If that needs to be changed, I'll do so, but keep in mind I literally said in her profile that her final exam is "find the witch".

As for why Catherine needs Zack to talk to Maka, well, it's because Maka's post included the bit about how only Meisters could talk to their weapons so Catherine will need Zack to tell Maka something calming like "Class is starting" or "she's a teacher."

The moment Zack spoke Catherine stopped and stepped to the side again.

"Please inform your partner that class is beginning soon and that she should take a seat."

The surge of soul energy that had appeared in order to make the Wavelength tuning quietly disappeared.

Maka looked through the sharp now and sighed. She didn't have a meister, it was her first year. None the less, Maka couldn't speak to the witch.

Seeing the silence respond to her, Catherine sighed and approached Maka, her hand held out and positioned to place itself on the bow.

Wavelength Tuning. She prepared.

I don't think every living creature at the school could see souls, because it's not common. I talked with Katherine, and really, me and another person can do it. As in the anime too, only Maka and Professor Stein could do it.

Ah, I thought soul perception was something that most - if not all - meisters should have. At the very least, I thought it would be something they developed and should have by the time they graduate.

But if that's the case, then go ahead. Catherine still has soul protect on but it should be noted that seeing through it is literally her final exam for her Soul Studies class.

Seeing as the weapon didn't feel like answering - or rather, having forgotten, as a witch, something that was only relevant to Weapons and Meisters, Catherine sighed.

Right. She reminded herself. Weapon. Needs a meister.

"Is the Meister of this weapon present?" she called out, really not wanting to use Wavelength Tuning to force herself to be compatible for the sake of a single rowdy student.

I talked with Katherine, and now I'm gonna ask you.

Would you mind if Maka is the first to find she's a witch? Maka can see souls, and my plan is to have Maka suspect something, and then possibly in 3-4 days, have Maka try to see her soul when she is off guard.

I mean, I thought every Meister/Weapon should be able to see souls. Otherwise, they really shouldn't be training/working to be Meisters. If you're saying she does it better than everyone else though, then that's fine.

Catherine let out a sigh.

"I'm your teacher." She said patiently. "Please head inside so I can begin the class."

"Me?" Catherine tilted her head.

"I'll introduce myself in a moment; but that can't happen until class starts. And that can't happen with you standing in the entrance like that."

Maka stepped inside the large academy, nervous. If she was late, she would have to walk into a classroom full of people she didn't know, in front of everyone. Maka sighed. She never liked walking into a full classroom. Most of the time, Maka wasn't late. Stupid dad. I can't believe it! Maka thought, grumpily walking in the hallways to find a classroom that had Lord Death in it. Surely he'd be in one, right?
As Maka walked, she made sure to peek into every room she passed, to look for Lord Death. Maka went right past him when she heard his voice, and quickly ran back to peer in. Yes, it was Lord Deaths voice alright. Maka quietly slide down and slumped against the wall, nervously listening. "I don't want to just walk into a classroom. What if I don't know where to sit? What if I bump into someone? Not a chance!" Maka told herself, still keeping herself quiet.

Nodding in a form of farewell as Lord Death left the classroom, Catherine was just about ready to step up to the lectern when she noticed Maka.

Putting her smile back on her face, Catherine turned in her direction.

"Don't worry," she assured, "I won't bite. Nobody here will - if they know what's good for them."
