Age:
25
Species:
Half-demon
Abilities:
Though he prefers to remain his lazy self and avoid actually putting effort into things, Pike does have some use when it comes down to it. Thanks to being a half demon he has the potential to tap into the magic left by his mother, elemental fire seeming to be his most reliable type of magic to depend on. Along the way he managed to learn a few binding and illusionary spells that have helped him deal with tricky situations, but studying and learning those spells only brought frustration to the half-demon who wanted things to be much simpler. In the end he only learned a few easy illusionary spells mainly to hide the marks and symbols stretching across his body that painfully made others aware he was not human. Made it much easier to traverse through human society when people weren’t terrified of his very existence. When magic seems to be useless in the moment though Pike will use his fathers training in martial arts to get him out of trouble. With a mixture of his fire magic and fighting skills Pike can always put up quite a fight when needed.
Personality:
Pike has always been a laid back individual who has simply learned to go along with things as they happen. He’ll always observe things from the side lines with a curious mind before deciding whether or not it’s worth actually getting involved in. If approached or pulled into a conversation Pike will adopt a friendly smile as he listens politely with a calm and welcoming aura. He’s by no means a stranger to conflict, but most times he prefers to keep things calm and peaceful if the situation is starting to worsen. Though he has done well to reflect a calm and friendly appearance for people around him, a tired and beaten soul lies beneath the façade he’s built over the years. At this point in his existence he tries to not stay in one place for too long to make things more simple. Less attachments, less heartache when he leaves. Of course it doesn’t mean he can’t enjoy life on the road, many things and places on the road to see after all. Though a small part of him is still hopeful for the day he can find a spot to settle in for good.
Backstory:
The life of a half-demon is a bit… complicated at times. Especially when one’s father was once a human monster hunter and their mother was the very thing he was hunting. Pike never really asked for the details of how they ended up together, but was glad they did in the end. Growing up Pike was kept away from the world, risen in secret out in the wilderness. It was quite peaceful as a child, many memories he still looks back on with a smile, but as he grew he began to realize just what type of world he was to live in and how little he fit in the picture for a normal life. On his thirteenth birthday his powers were finally discovered as he was doing chores around their home and accidentally set a pile of logs he was to chop on fire after hurting himself. It was a bit unsettling at first, especially when strange markings began to crawl along his skin, but Pike quickly became ecstatic of his discovery, excited to use the very magic he would see his mother use around their home. His parents however, though excited to see their child have finally found his potential, grew worried for his future.
After the discovery of his powers Pike’s parents would begin training him to use his powers and take care of himself. Pike still remembers their training sessions fondly, his mothers meditating lessons, his fathers intense yet oddly fun sparring sessions, channeling streams of mana and following their motions with a calm mind. Every bit of knowledge he will be forever grateful for. Though even with all of this training and teachings Pike would have never been prepared for what was to come on his eighteenth birthday. He’s never spoken a word about that horrible day to a single soul, every attempt to bring up the details from the depths of his mind to painful to deal with. In the end he’s found himself on the road alone, his head now with a price upon it from monster hunters and completely alone to fend for himself in a world with many who detest his existence. It’s a rough life, but after seven years it gets pretty easier to handle.
Other:
Around his neck is a golden locket that once belonged to his mother. He’s never seen or been able to open the locket itself, a very advanced spell keeping it sealed. Pike’s tried many times to open it before and still tries at times when he meditates alone.
