<Snipped quote by Legend>

There's a lot wrong with this, then. Person one is suspicious due to not being able to give a testimony due to being unconscious. Person two knew that the control code, which is apparently related to food, was in the locket beforehand. Person three is quick to get rid of the evidence, but for some reason believes that the victim is the chemical controller.

Though if I remember correctly, the answer is that it was person three due to the victim not being dead yet.

The ascent job, not his food job. Does that change your answer?
<Snipped quote by Legend>

Is the code for the pilot?

The code is needed to do the victim's job without him.
<Snipped quote by Legend>

Hmm... Why don't you try to think up one for us?

Mmmmm...
*Spreads my arms*
A murder happens on a submarine! Four people live on this submarine and have no contact with the outside world. They each have important jobs. The victim made the food, person one did the dishes, person two did the laundry, and person three refilled the chemicals. Person one faints in horror. Person two starts to panic. Person three starts trying to think of a way to escape to the surface. They need all four to control the submarine's ascent 'cause it was designed badly. Person two slaps person one to wake them up, but it doesn't work. Person three suggests throwing the body into the furnace to force the fuel to burn more quickly and get them to the surface without needing all four people, and says they can each sit at the station they controlled on their first day in the submarine, which rotate every week. Person two screams as person three hastily starts dragging the body and shouts that the control code is in the victim's locket. Person three grabs the locket, rushes to the chemical cabinet, sticks the key in, and the key won't budge. But they easily get the cabinet open anyway and throw cat'lysts into the furnace, along with the victim's body. Person two manages to wake up person one and says they need to get to their seats and ascend to the surface. Person one rushes to the chair first, quick to make up for being useless while unconscious. Person three takes their seat, followed by person two. The submarine reaches the surface and all three escape unharmed. The police arrest one of them shortly after based on the testimony of the other two. Who committed the crime and how?

*Smirks*
Well, if one of my genius daughters thinks so, who am I to argue?

*Beams*
You got that right! What other puzzles do you have?
<Snipped quote by Legend>

I try not to. It's weird to think of regrets at all, in my situation.

*Crosses my arms and smiles*
Of course you don't. Because you got it right the first time.
<Snipped quote by Techspert>

And if nothing else, that should be something that informs your decision. You don't want to have regrets if you can avoid them, trust me.

Not that you regret anything, right?
<Snipped quote by Legend>

Mhm. The change in mindset can be minimal or large, but you're changing your decision based on it. Even if it's fueled by outside forces, so too is everything.

So you’re saying the right choice depends on everything around it?
<Snipped quote by Legend>

It is, yes. But that's a small change in the scheme of things. And it's less so an "enemy" as it is someone who happened to do something bad to you shortly before. If you don't approach things with a calm mind, you'll have a different response due to it. If someone hurt you but you forgave them, and then they were on the tracks, would that change your decision?

If I’m not holding it against them, probably not. I guess it might depend on what they did, right?
<Snipped quote by Techspert>

Well, pretend that you were just attacked by someone and you got hurt. Then, they end up being on the track shortly thereafter. A lot f people would let that influence their decision, even if they then regret it or change their mind after.

Your enemy being on the track is totally different though!
