I feel like I am volunteering my character to get in trouble. I am not blind to the obvious foreshadowing.

And it is actually in character for Natus to just assume that the worse case scenario will always occur.

Finis did not even turn around, and spoke "While I believe it that if I was alone, I will be much more likely to go undetected, this is not the time or place to challenge your judgment. I will go slightly ahead of her, but I will remain in her attacking range. Should a natural event separate us, such as a possible storm, I will set off two explosions every one minute. Should an enemy attack me, and I have no other means of contacting the rest of the group, I will let off a series of four explosions. Should my mark move, I will move back to where Ferris was, and send her back to contact you. Is my plan of action agreeable, Captain? I can not force you to accept this plan, but I believe this would be the most effective course of action."

He took a few steps forward, and then waited for the rest of the group to get in formation, in particular Ferris.

Redd had stepped back from Sabu. Despite his prodding, he knew he was dangerous, however his ego seemed to require him prove himself on his own terms. He considered poking that just because he had powers that seemed related to dragons doesn't mean that he had the ancestory of dragons, however the other newborn goblins seemed to want to get in his way. They will rue this day, but that is not for now. But he was going to drink the blood of dragons, he was just not have it diluted.

Redd was following behind, silent. He did not feel comfortable around other people, as something in his gut told him that they would not accept him if he revealed his true intentions. However, he also needed them. He found Sabu excitement grating, but perhaps useful to get close to him.

He realized that the bugbear and Sabu both had dragon's blood. However, sneaking up on or tricking the bugbear would be much harder. However, it seemed like the goblin had a weakness. He appeared to be egotistical, and seemingly driven by no goal other than to satisfy his own arrogance. Despite being just born, Redd had an intelligence from an unknown source, and he intended on using it.

He casually walked up behind Sabu, and made the remark, "So, you have dragon blood in you? It seems hard to that just a goblin has such regal in them. Are you sure that your legacy isn't just a bed-time story? Though, if you want to prove it. Well, I have a gift. " he said in a very monotone but biting tone.
