I want her to go on a spoopy adventure
How did this one page interest check turn into 4 pages while I slept. Holy hell. @Jabber you asked for people to post and now you've got it!

If we're talking about characters, I'd already planned mine to be a casual player who's taking her first jump into VR games with Aether. She's gonna be a Cleric but she's going to regret this decision after finding out that you can't log out because she's a coward who doesn't want to die and fuck all of you she's going to prioritize healing herself first.

Whooo. I'm calling dibs.

Anyway, GM. Character Sheet and OOC maybe since you already have a lot of players? Maybe a Discord server too?

Long post is long. Can't wait to roleplay with everyone. Cheers.
charismatic summoners

Does that mean Conjuration falls under Cleric skills and won't be accessible to Mages? Now that I've looked over the other posts, it seems people are going for magic users. Was interested in making a Cleric character that's scared shitless by the thought of potentially dying, but I'm also curious about Tinkers. @Jabber are they sort of like cybernetics or is their tech more steampunky?
Oooh. I like the Nine Circles of Hell-ish approach to the game world. Looking forward to see more updates (hopefully the class system and such) but I'm placing my name in the hat now.
Holy crap. This is great. Not going to join as I'm not sure I can come up with anything for this, but holy hell am I gonna to be lurking!

The yin to her twin sister's yang, Talcri is usually cold and detached. Her intimidating appearance keeps most people from her, and she's too soft-spoken to actually attempt to change their opinion of her. Worse still is her tendency to lose her temper at the drop of a hat and how she loses sight of potential threats to her at times just so she could accomplish a task. Years living with only just her sister by her side has also made it difficult for her to socialize with others, and most people simply prefer to just stay away.

Unlike Jaica, Talcri has a more childish and idealistic side. Her moral compass leads her to charitable actions that she is never credited for, and has caused her to loathe the line of work she and her sister have found themselves in. Brutish appearance and heavy-handedness aside, Talcri is actually the warmer and kinder of the two despite what first impressions might imply.

A P P E A R A N C E
Talcri, at first glance, is intimidating. The image of finding a figure standing at five foot eight, with a side-shaved, pink-dyed hair, a constant glare in peridot eyes, and arm made of pure metal at a deserted alley in the middle of the night is enough for some to fall to their knees, trembling in fear. Her skin a tad darker than her twin's is filled with scars of varying shapes and sizes received from many fights over the course of working for the Family, but the worse casualty was losing the entirety of her left arm in an incident involving a crazed man with a chainsaw. It was only due to need that the Big Boss even threw out money for the cybernetic implant that replaced the lost arm. In an act to cheer her up, Jaica had the cybernetics lined with neon yellow lights, similar to the sneakers lined with neon yellow strips that she favoured.

After discovering her Lunos, Talcri has taken to carrying glowsticks with her at all times. Her belt and several accessories in her wardrobe have also been modified to give off a neon yellow light at the push of a button. Most noticeable in her attire is a shoulder bag that has been modified to be a compact and portable light generator for Talcri.

The younger of the twins, Talcri had spent most of her childhood tucked behind the protective arm of her sister. The young girl foolishly dreaming of parents that had been ripped from her even before she could remember them found herself looking for what was missing in the arms of foster parents. It never felt right. Most of the time, they found themselves under the roof of a couple using them as food stubs to leech from the government. Other times, the mother or father of the family would get a little too angry or a little too drunk, and who better to hurt than the ones that weren't truly their flesh and blood. Rarely, oh so very rarely, came a family that held potential. A family that was warm and welcoming, a family that Talcri dreamed of, but they would, sooner or later, seek to seperate the two. Talcri swore that her foolish dreams of the loving embrace mother and father would never trump the true bond she and her sister shared.

Time and time again, that bond was tested. At ten years, Talcri learned just how far her sister was willing to go for her, and just how much she was willing to look over for Jaica's sake. When Jaica spoke to her over the deafening wailing of sirens in the night outside the foster home, Talcri saw the darkening red on her sister's shirt and the eyes that were permanently dimmed by even just a little. A little darkened by necessity. Talcri had taken her sister's hand then, wondering in the back of her head if doing so had turned her own hands dirty as well.

It was three years later that Talcri actually had someone else's blood on her knuckles. No longer the small child cowering behind her older sister, Talcri had taken to the streets trying to steal enough for their daily meal - and if she apologized and attempted to pay them back afterwards, even by just a little, then Jaica didn't need to know that. She had picked the pockets of a well-dressed man, and she really shouldn't have with all the burly men surrounding him, but Jaica had gotten sick and they hadn't had a proper meal for days. She was caught, and she had lashed out, not willing to be killed or to go to prison when her sister needed her, and before she knew it, one of the men fell to the ground, unconscious. The well-dressed fellow had smiled at her, leery and evil, and it brought shivers up her spine. That was the beginning of their involvement with the Family, and Talcri hated that day the most.

The Landing was supposed to be a fresh start for them. Talcri wanted honest living, to maybe work on that dream of hers without constantly having to look over their shoulders, but they were still chained to the Family out of necessity. Tasked with extorting from the citizens, Talcri felt worse than when they were on Earth. Despite it, new hope bloomed in her chest after long conversationg with a couple of scouts that piloted their vehicles around the Landing. It seemed an honest job, a little less pay than working for the Family, but it was legitimate work. Talcri wanted for it, and she just had to find a way to convince her sister to leave the Big Boss' hold.

Light Manipulation
» C A P A B I L I T I E S
Light Manipulation allows its user to manipulate nearby light sources by controlling photons in order to solidify the light to form the user's will. More specifically, Talcri uses light manipulation to solidify light to use as weapons, lockpicks, and whatever else she might need. A less common usage of it includes removing all light from the room to disrupt visibility.

» D R A W B A C K S
Talcri cannot generate light and therefore requires a source in order to use her ability. Removing all light from a room to disrupt visibility also affects her own ability to see.

W E A P O N S
Talcri doesn't use typical weapons such as pistols, but instead makes use of light (usually from the light sources she straps on her person) to solidify into weapons. Her favourite use of it is shaping it into a pair of identical swords or coating her knuckles with light for hand to hand combat. Her cybernetics also allows her enhanced strength on her left arm, in addition to providing her more light to shape.

Female ● Twenty Three ● Informant for The Family
P E R S O N A L I T Y
The yang to her twin sister's yin, Jaica is normally seen bright-eyed and with a grin exuding confidence towards any task placed in her hands. While quite plain in appearance, she makes up for it in the way her words and presence makes drills into the hearts of any and all around her, and settles her deep into the reaches of their souls. This social butterfly is the life of the party, but she still ensures that she maintains professionalism when it comes to accomplishing her jobs for the Family. Well, most of the time. She's charming to a fault, and it's easy to find yourself lost in the way she simply shines with optimism and courage, like a celebrated hero from a children's comic book.

Truth be told, Jaica is no hero. In fact, on occassions too many to count on both hands, Jaica has willingly and gleefully played the antagonist. Starry-eyes and playful grin aside, Jaica's hands are far from clean. There is little she wouldn't do for her and her sister's safety, and if that means chopping a man's head off in front of his whole family, then she would do it. If she found a little enjoyment in her line of work, then surely that's not something you can fault her for.
A P P E A R A N C E
Jaica doesn't seem like much at first glance, and, in fact, some people look her over in a crowd. That is, until her constant bright smile makes it to her lips and it is almost impossible to lose sight of her in a room. She has a small stature, standing at little over five foot four with a petite body that has never recovered fully from years spent with barely enough food. Dark brown hair frames a welcoming face, and bright eyes the colour of glinting emeralds stand out in stark contrast to tawny brown skin littered with pink freckles. Brightly-coloured shirts paired with an assortment of denim jeans cover a canvas of ink, and is oftentimes topped with a beige coat on the off-chance that Jaica is needed on work that required true subterfuge. Never removed from her daily attire though are neon blue headphones playing radio chatter in lieu of music and a pair of sneakers lined with neon blue strips made with the same technology as the ink used on her latest tattoo, a chameleon perching on her shoulder that lights up in a cool blue tint under the cover of darkness.
B A C K G R O U N D / H I S T O R Y
Jaica has always taken it upon herself to do anything and everything to ensure her sister's safety. They have lived their entire lives together, from when they were tossed into the foster system at the young age of two after the death of their parents at the hand of a corrupt policeman up to their adult life working alongside each other in an organization the constantly raised its middle finger to the authorities. Life had never been easy for them, living amongst the dirt in a world that moved far too fast for them to catch up, but they eventually learned that in order to survive, you had to break some rules.

Jaica broke her first when they were ten years old and coming back into the system from a family that was unable to handle the rowdy twins. Talk amongst the supervisers had arisen about seperating them, putting them into different homes, and Jaica knew then that they had to leave. She hadn't meant to, though. All she wanted was to steal some supplies and secure their escape from the foster home, but the attendant had lunged at her and she had been so scared. The errant pole that stuck out from the wall, a danger hazard that the same attendant had constantly ignored for the past three months, had been right there. Jaica had scrubbed out the blood from her shirt as best as she could and grabbed Talcri just as the sirens reached their street.

Finding their way into the Family had been Talcri's achievement, but it was Jaica who ensured that they stayed. The Big Boss saw potential in the haunted eyes of the thirteen year old that clutched her younger twin as if she were ready to shield the girl from a hundred bullets. He saw potential in the way Jaica could smile her way to extra portions of food for a small amount of money and how she could take so much from someone with so little consideration. As such, when news of the Noah II came, the Big Boss made sure there was room aboard for the two girls that had done so much for him on Earth so long as their loyalty to the Family stayed and they remained useful wherever they may end up next.

Not much changed for Jaica in the Landing. She still worked for the Family, much more effectibly now with her Lunos ability, and took on jobs that she hadn't ever dreamed of on Earth. Acting as an informant and spy for the Family, she brings in more than enough to keep her and her sister well-fed for decades.

Furtive Assimilation
» C A P A B I L I T I E S
The user can instantly assimilate into any society or social group, subconsciously nullifying the ability/need of others to recognize user as nothing else than part of the group/social structure they place themselves. They could walk into a restaurant and immediately assume a position of waiter, or go into a crime organization and assume a the role of domestic servant. The user can feel the general emotions of a society or group of people by having an internal social mirror. With this ability, Jaica easily inserts herself into any group to gather intelligence or internally sabotage her target group.

» D R A W B A C K S
Jaica's cloaking abilities doesn't come with a limit on the length of its usage, but prolonged use takes a toll on Jaica's psyche. It's too easy to lose herself in a role - her memories of her true life turning foggy and her opinions joining the hive mind of the group she's inserted herself in. Should she find herself in such a state, releasing her from its hold can prove quite difficult. Furtive assimilation also requires Jaica to have a certain grasp on the group she's inserting herself into, such as their general outlook or names of some of their members.

Accenco Trade Pistol (Heavily Modified)
» Class: Laser Pistol
» Clip Size: 6 Shots per Battery
» Description: Accenco Trade pistols are generally turned down in the market due to their tendency to explode in their user's hands. As such, many gun wielders fail to utilize the immense firepower that a pistol from the manufacturer possesses. This plasma-based weapon is as dangerous as its cousins, both for the user and its target, but a well-modified version offers more stability and a 76.6% chance of not blowing up in your hands. Jaica rarely uses this weapon, but keeps it on her person in case of emergencies.
Dagger
This quiet and deadly weapon is what Jaica favours. Easily hidden in her sleeve of her jacket, this dagger provides a quick draw and a swift demise for her intended target when used alongside with her ability that allows her to get up close and personal.

BRIAR eyed the assortment of Pokeballs presented to their group. In truth, they all seemed similar to them and their lack of knowledge on the creatures hindered them from analyzing the options available before they chose. That, and the fact that they were certain that no matter the species, they'd be able to turn that Pokemon into a top notch star that would be able to trample its opponents without much trouble. With this in mind, they grabbed a Pokeball at random. Holding out the Pokeball in their hand, they allowed the red light to shine forth and release the Pokemon held within.

'Ah! It's a Shinx!' Samantha exclaimed, almost gushing in excitement. The assistant dropped to her knees and carefully approached the Pokemon, who jutted out its chin and preened at the attention. BRIAR watched approvingly. 'This is a great choice, BRIAR.' She scooped the Pokemon in her arms and snuggled it. The smile on BRIAR's face dropped.

"Enough. We don't want her getting attached to you. You're not coming with." They reminded, strapping the Pokeball to the belt they had previously prepared. Samantha nodded, allowing the Shinx to return to the ground and sniff at her new master. She handed her boss the backpack - BRIAR eyed the bulky carriage with disdain - containing some supplies they would need. 'I'll get the Pokedex for you.' Without waiting for a nod of approval, Samantha hurried off to the assistant carrying the Pokedexes.

They turned to the Pokemon instead, tilting their head as they examined it. "You need a name." They lowered themselves to the ground and scratched the Shinx's head. "Nothing flower related, though. How about a star instead? Yeah, a star. You look like a Spica."

The Shinx crooned in reply, and the name was settled. They gave it a final pat before returning the Pokemon to its Pokeball. Samantha quickly returned, handing the device to her boss. BRIAR slipped it into their bag and grabbed their camera, pointing it towards Sam. "Right. Say goodbye." They turned it to the Professor after the assistant shyly waved her goodbyes. "You too, Professor."

BRIAR nodded to themself and turned the camera to them. "This is it. The start of an adventure. Don't even dare change the channel, my little stars." They gave the camera a wink and took their leave from the laboratory.
I'll go make a post. Whew. What happened with everyone else?
