Ehhh...I was thinking IRL at the beginning of DS9 and towards the middle-end of TNG, so before-ish?
I would like to mention that if you're eventually going to put supernatural stuff in this that would work well for Dale. P= The way I have my characters set up they can easily be played with or without their supernatural elements, so it would be great if that was something which could be revealed later on. (Because actually his family isn't normal. At all. Well, okay, his dad was normal, but that's it.)

Out of curiosity, what year is it IC?

No clue about any specifics. Again I'd like to mention the fact that I need help with some of this technical stuff.
...Yup, that's a captain. I can't really say no to Bajoran/Cardassian with all that going on, but just know it's not going to do him any favors with his crew.

And YES, DS9 influenced stuff. That's like my favorite series ever, as you can tell by the fact that I kept bumping it on the first page along with all the TNG stuff. =P Also, I'm going to say two more people + me then we can start.

Also Maria, everyone is new because it's a new starship. So yes. And also the whole Cardassian on Bajoran rape thing was addressed in the show, there's a character who has that as her backstory. Pretty legit to me.

Accepted! Great that we all ready have a hardy character. Of course working the cafe will change his character with the people he meets. The memories will be great! Question! Do you want to have a room living at the Cafe since all students have a dorm. Your character lives at the cafe while he works there going to school. ^^

Yeah, that would be great. And I love these type of RPs because of the character development aspect. XD
Name: Dale Reinsberg
Age: 16
Gender: Male

Description: A little bit short for his age, but strong and stocky. Mixed race (Dad was black and mom is white with some Native American in her family history), he strongly favors his father with a dark brown skin tone and African American facial features. He has grey eyes and short brown hair with a permanent idiot curl in his bangs on the right temple that refuses to go away no matter how much he brushes it.

Bio: Dale comes from a loving but chaotic household where he is one of the male authority figures by default. His father Charles was a good and gentle man, but his career as a firefighter cost him his life when Dale was about five years old, leaving behind his wife and three sons. Dale at sixteen is the middle child; his younger brother Sheridan is fourteen and his older brother Conner is 18. Their mother Sophia works long hours to support them, and so since they where children the two oldest Reinsberg boys have been expected to tow the line when it comes to domestic chores, although Dale has often felt overshadowed by his older brother, who he perceives as over-achieving. Getting a job at the cafe had several perks and benefits for him; it was a way to prove himself and put distance between him and Conner, an outlet for his budding love of creative cooking, and means of extra income for the family.

Personality: To be frank, Dale can be a bully. He always felt like life at home was a competition to win his mother's approval; he's used to taking out his frustrations on Sheridan and without him around to bother he may redirect this on to whoever seems to be the weakest or most insecure. On the other hand, he can be ridiculously sentimental in a way that might surprise some people- he puts a lot of heart and thoughtfulness into his cooking and other things that matter to him, and though he can be a tease he would never take things too far as to actually hurt someone. He's just as likely to swoop to the rescue of someone he regularly antagonizes if they end up in actual danger. Good luck getting him to admit all of this, though.

Likes: Hunting, hunting rifles, dogs, fishing, cooking, competition, war videogames.

Dislikes: Little kids, his older brother (RESENTMENT)

Other: He's been deliberately avoiding the issue of girls since a low blow rejection from a childhood friend sent him reeling. That WILL change, though, I can guarantee it. P=

Is it OK if I post a slightly less detailed CS that the other two above? This is my second RP ever, and I'm basically the definition of "newbie".

That's fine, you don't have to write a book, just give me enough to work with.

Sorry Rup that's not really acceptable. An assistant has to a developed character, too.
I have a very strong stomach for gore and I can dish it out when I need too also. Very little is too much for me as long as I know what the standards of the roleplay are. I wrack my sister's brains by eating while watching shows like The Walking Dead and not flinching at all, because it makes her loose her appetite but doesn't have the same effect on me.
Really? That kinda stinks. I may have never actually roleplayed Star Trek before, but I've been doing character design for so long that I'm confident I could get it right. I should say the last thing I would do is make my character a Dax clone- I really think there's a a ton of possibility for creating a huge variety of characters with different personalities there.
My character will likely be a Betazoid, it was a tossup between that and a Trill (because personality.) I don't actually have any established original characters because this is my first foray into roleplaying Star Trek, so I'm taking my time developing something.
