Appearance: A tall, stringy young man with dark brown skin, brown eyes and shoulder length white hair dyed teal blue at the fringes and then tied into a ponytail. He's not very muscular and this along with his sloped shoulders and slender features have the overall effect of making him look like a lanky water bird; this is only reinforced by his clumsiness.

Name: Conner 'Heron' Reinsberg

Age: 18

Personality: Laid-back, gentle and slightly effeminate. Because of the way he grew up he tries to act like a big brother to younger kids and his friends in general, although he can sometimes be painfully oblivious, and isn't the best judge of character. He'd like to believe that there's some good in everyone but this trait doesn't always work out in his favor; overall he's a good kid and mature for his age, but with a goofy/stupid/rebellious side that does land him in trouble from time to time. If he's not inside reading a book or cooking, he's hanging around with friends and probably causing a noisy but harmless raucous somewhere.

Short Biography: He lost his father, a firefighter, in a terrible accident when he was seven, and from then on he was treated as the man of the house. He spent most of his own childhood helping his mother care for his two younger brothers, and eventually a stepbrother and baby half sister, and so had a lot of responsibilities placed on him even from that young age. He had to grow up very quickly and this is the main reason he acts so much older and authoritative then he really is. Overall, his family life and early years where good, but there was also a lot of competition in the house for their mother's approval. This has earned him the ire of his middle-younger brother Dale, and the two aren't on the best of terms right now.

Birthdate: July 25th (guess I better mark my calender, eheh.)

Star sign: Leo

Others: Gay, and he totally knows it, too. Also, he has a tattoo on his left shoulder of a Great Blue Heron.

Special requests: Home Economics, please. =)

I really need to watch some Studio Ghibli movies! I feel so uncultured cx I'll break my recommendations into categories of sorts, I guess.First and foremost, I recommend No.6. It's a dystopian anime with great characters and the lead couple is tragically adorable. The whole thing pretty much wrecked me.If you're more into action and plot based anime, I'd recommend Death Note, Blue Exorcist, and Attack on Titan. The only anime I like that has an abundance of romance in it is Ouran High School Host Club. It has a ton of loveable characters and funny situations. Now if you want to get into sports anime hell, Free! (the swimming anime) and Haikyuu!! (the volleyball anime) are my favorites. There's a lot of friendship and rivalry and feel-good elements in both.So depending on what you're into, that's a few you and your sister could add to your list. c:

I'll definitely be checking out Blue Exorcist, then, and look into some of those others. I know a lot of people are into AoT right now, but I'm personally waiting for the hype to die down to see if it has any staying power before I touch it.
Yeah, I should have watched BB years ago, along with a lot of other things.

You made me remember Kenichi. Thank you.

To be honest it's not my usual kind of thing (FMA is my usual kind of thing), and I had an almost 'Ehehehe NOPE' reaction when my cousin and sister first tried to make me watch it. But the depth of story actually surprised me and I liked it more then I thought I would.

If you want, I could recommend some to you!

Sure. =) We've already watched both Fullmetal Alchemist series, we're in the middle of Kenichi: World's Greatest Disciple and we're planning to watch Soul Eater and Black Butler. There was also talk of marathoning Studio Ghibli movies, since there's some I haven't seen, some she hasn't seen and some both of us haven't seen.
Ru remained on the bridge for a few more minutes, then got ready to head on his way. However he stopped momentarily when he saw Silvia pass by. One of the books he'd read the day before was a book on manners, because he'd constantly been berated in the in the past for his mannerisms being too blunt and crass. This seemed like a perfect time to test out what he'd learned. He smiled, recalled the illustrations in the book, and then gave a little bow. "Good morning ma'am, I was just on on my way to have my morning coffee, and noticed how fine you are looking today." Then he looked up out of her from the top of his eyes, hoping desperately for approval.

Sometime later, Preston finally forced himself to get up. The snack food he'd packed with him before leaving home was almost gone, and if he wanted to accomplish anything that day he realized he needed to eat. However, it took several minutes of wandering down the streets of the village before it occurred to him that he hadn't brought any money with him whatsoever. Annoyed and hungry, he eventually just sat down on the side of a dirt path and rested his chin on his hand. No plane, no money, no food. How much more frustrating could this get?
And two, at least, are going to be gay. =P I actually feel sorry for these poor girls.
Is it a good one? Me and my sister are trying to compile a list of animes we can watch together before I go off to college.
In the early morning hours, a little black cat Neko was on his way to get his morning cup of strong, dark coffee. Then it would be off to the bookstore to look for more blueprints for his latest ideas. It was a repetitive schedule, but Ru Zhi didn't seem to mind the droll. After all, even when he wasn't studying the ideas of others to glean inspiration for his own inventions, there was always something different to read about. As long as it had pages and words, it was worth reading to him. As he came to the top of the bridge in the center of town he stopped for a minute to clean his glasses with a hanky and admire the crystal clear water running through the stream below. He was quiet but contented, his tail wavering back and forth in a gesture of pure happiness.

On the other side of the village, a badly damaged biplane had been rolled over into a dark corner underneath a tree. Tools and machine parts where scattered about haphazardly, along with a few dwindling, precious cans of soda. Preston was passed out in the cockpit, twisted up and looking exhausted. After a while, he stirred and yawned, and then frowned when he remembered where he was. The day before had been another long day of struggling to make the repairs he needed to get airborne again. When he first came here the strange cat-eared people hadn't alarmed him too much, nor had the odd black and red gemstone he'd found shortly after the crash. After all, he'd seen plenty of weirder things in his life. Still, he didn't have any intention of sticking around, although he was starting feel like he didn't have a choice in the matter.
Appearance: (I hope you don't mind, I have a pre-planned appearance for most of my characters but no artwork, so faceclaims are hard for me to pull off) A tall, stringy young man with dark brown skin, brown eyes and shoulder length white hair dyed teal blue at the fringes and then tied into a ponytail. He's not very muscular and this along with his sloped shoulders and slender features have the overall effect of making him look like a lanky water bird; this is only reinforced by his clumsiness.
