In the port town of Ravenhome a ship lost at sea for three years has returned. The cargo vessel was discovered by a couple who'd gone out for a romantic night on the beach, where it had crashed ashore. The ship itself was in surprisingly good condition, but when the local law enforcement went to investigate, they found the ship all but empty. The cargo was still intact, but there were no signs of the crew, save one. Andrew Gilbert Crossfield was a sailor of little import, just a basic deckhand, and was found huddled in the fetal position in the ship engine room. The only info released about his condition was that he was mentally unstable, and was placed in the care of Ravenhome Asylum until it could be determined if he was a danger to himself or others. Since the return of the lost ship, your characters have been suffering from recurring nightmares that make it difficult to sleep. Oddly you cannot seem to remember your nightmares, save that something was calling you out to the shipwreck.

This is set in 1939, in the fictional town of Ravenhome, North Carolina, though your characters may end up quite far away from their origin point. You will all be playing Ravenhome residents who, at the start of the adventure, have finally given into the wants of their dreams and decided to go to the wrecked ship.

This is not using the Call of Cthulhu RPG system, rather a regular play by post setting. Post order will be organized by rounds to keep things clean, with post order determined by intro posts, and a GM post at the end of each round.

Please note that this will deal with dark and mature themes, though nothing past the RPGuild rules, so if gore, suicide, mental illness and general disturbing imagery make you uncomfortable this is not the RP for you.

Accepted characters list:
Slot 1: Odette Langley (Horrid)
Slot 2: Mona Di Luccio (Austronaut)
Slot 3: Harold Campbell (Culot)
Slot 4:
Slot 5:

I like the idea of a succesfull business owner type, it's definitely not a common one for a Lovecraft Mythos setting. And that limited amount of knowledge is fine, it'll hopefully serve only to make the responses to the Mythos that much more genuine.

I'm heading off to sleep now, but I'll start up a main thread tomorrow morning and get a character skeleton set up.
That's fine. I can help with character ideas when I've gotten enough interest.
You can post a concept outline here, that's fine. Put it in a read-more though.

Five character slots, posting in the interest check will increase your chances of being accepted but I’ll be primarily be accepting based on characters that I like once the main thread is started.

Yeah I think I'll be withdrawing my interest. Honestly while in many RP's I prefer my character to not be involved with the major plot in the RWBYverse it just seems silly for the players to be effectively minor characters. At least, that's what I got from your description.
Well that's more than a little disappointing.
I'll leave the reaction of the racist douchebags up to Fox.
Lyle made a noncommittal wave as Leon suggested they leave the airship together. “I think I'll find my own way for now. I'm sure I'll see you around though, sailorboy.” She waited for a few other people to exit the airship before she started to make her way to the off ramp, trying to break off from the crowd as quickly as she possibly could.

Of course her little adventure put her on the path to find the group of racists harassing a shark-faunus, fate it seemed was insisting she interact with more people. She didn't particularly care what he was, the sight of two people holding him down while a third prepared to attack triggered memories she tried her best to repress and frankly she wasn't going to let that happen. She didn't even bother drawing her weapon as she flipped her hood up, seeing the punch about to hit the faunus square in the jaw and charging.

As it turned out the kid was too much of a showoff to hit his victim right away, holding back for a second, maybe in the hope that his target would open his eyes or something, who knows, but that little bit of hesitation resulted in a fist slamming directly into his cheekbone. Lyle had no intent of holding back, and so the unexpected punch landed with a sound that implied the kids cheekbone was gonna end with a minor fracture, not to mention knocking him square off his feet onto the floor, where Lyle didn't even hesitate or take the time to gloat, a heavy boot curb stomping him straight in the groin.

“You shitstains had better shove off before I get really pissed.” Her voice was as cold as ice, full of suppressed hatred and rage that she was clearly about to take out on the boys if they didn't clear out right now.
@Against This My schedule right now is a bit hectic so I think a collab would be difficult. Plus it's probably a good idea to have them move around and possibly meet the other members of their team, or at least some of the members of CRBD.
