The sun is beating down upon the golden sands of Egypt. As I stare into the distance I see the heat reflecting back to the sky creating many illusions of false water. Right before I look back to the dig site, I notice a large amount of movement to the west, at first I believed it to be a sand storm; as I reacted it vanished into the ground, simultaneously the earth trembles and I hear my team shouting for help. I rush back to the site to find a large hole in the ground; my team is gone. I don't want to holler at them because I am unsure if the opening is secure; I don't want to cause further damage. I investigate in silence, looking for any sign of survivors, looking for an explanation to how this could have happened.
As I gather the supplies for camp, I see my last glimpse of the sun. I begin to feel the darkness enclose around me. It brings an immediate chill to my spine, and I begin to hear whispers coming from the opening. I cannot understand a word of it but I am sure they are whispers. It sounds like they are right next to me, yelling in my ears, drowning my thoughts, as I light the fire immediate silence overtakes the air.
