So apparently, business shorts are a thing that exists. All I can say is... why?

Been busy lately, courtesy of the guy who thought that it was a good idea to have 3 assignments and a test due in the same week.

Bio

Anyone remember the period a little after guildfall, when the site didn't have a lot of work put into it, the servers went down pretty often and people were moving out? We waited and waited until boom, Mahz made America the guild great again. That was about where I left off.

My mistake was trying to take on everything at once (and being cringy as hell but I mean come on). Well now I'm back, and better than ever.

And I'll be damned if I let anything get in the way of having a good time.

Blue Nova slowly turned to face the pink haired girl, inspecting her weapons and her build. She seemed small and was dual wielding, so likely a fast ranged specialist. Could be a better match up, could be worse. Not like he cared, though.
"Five seconds?" Blue Nova said, cracking his knuckles.
Considering her choice of weapons it would've been easy enough to shoot him before declaring her presence, but the fact that she hadn't done that meant that she wanted a duel. He would be happy to oblige a countdown any other time, but now? Not so much. He suddenly sprang off, quickly closing the distance between the two avatars. He wanted to fight on his own terms, to go full tilt from the start.

"HA!"
He swung his fist at the pink haired girl with a defiant roar, intent on bringing her down. If he didn't bring his full strength right from the beginning, it would be disrespectful for his opponent. If anyone wanted a fight, he'd always do his best to give them the full Blue Nova experience.

Will post sooner or later. Gotta do some tests and stuff.
Stephan locked eyes on the girl as she spoke to him, before adopting a smile and put a finger to his lips in the universal indication to be a little quieter. He didn't mind that it revealed his red hand, it would be difficult to tell in such dim lighting anyway. The scruffy man in front of him was clearly having none of this, drawing his arms back to swing at Stephan, or maybe his phone. But that was just what he'd been waiting for. Stephan briefly mused on the absurdity of this situation. In normal circumstances he'd possibly consider confronting the man, but he wouldn't actually do it. The brief fear, excitement and anxiety were all there, but he felt oddly calm. Maybe it was the night making him do things he wouldn't do normally, or maybe it was his newfound strength. He supposed that his new powers had changed things somewhat. Stephan darted forward as the man stepped back to swing. He grabbed the man's right wrist with his right hand and lept moving forward, twisting the man's arm behind his back. The man cried in pain and dropped his bat as Stephan increased the pressure.
"Sorry, that's just my drunk friend. Stubbed his toe." Stephan said on the phone. "It looks like 2 grown men are trying to mug a woman. One of them's holding a knife."

The scruffy man tried in vain to free his hand from Stephan's grip, but to no avail. He wasn't letting go unless he wanted to.
"What street we're on? Hold on a second." Stephan said. "Does anyone know what street we're on?"
He got a confused and fearful look from the man he was holding, but little else. Stephan didn't really know where they were or what alley they were in, but he did remember a few crucial details.
"Sorry, I don't quite know. But there was a car crash reported somewhere close, I think it's between there and the park." Stephan said. "Birch street, maybe."
The man started beating Stephan's hand with his free fist. It hurt a bit, but he wasn't letting go. The man let out an angry howl and made to dive at Stephan, but he twisted the man's arm downwards, forcing him onto the ground.
"Sorry, friend's getting a little aggressive. Don't worry, I have him under control." Stephan said. "Thank you for your time."
He finally hung up and turned his full attention on the man struggling on the floor. Stephan dragged the man up to a standing position by the hand and looked him dead in the eye and spoke to him in a low, somewhat threatening voice.

"Listen buddy, the police are coming soon. You know what that means, don't you?" Stephan asked the man. "They find you here, they peg you as an accomplice. There's enough witnesses here to testify to that."
The fear was palpable in the man's eyes, although whether that was fear of the police or of Stephan, he wasn't sure. But either or both would serve well enough. Stephan walked behind the man and crossed over to the man's left, still holding his wrist, draping his own arm over the man's shoulders while keeping a tight grip on the man's wrist.
"Now look, I've just gotten here. You know what I saw?" Stephan said, whispering in his ear. "A man in front of an alley and 2 men mugging a girl in the alley. I'd think it's pretty clear what happened, but maybe not."
The man was confused now, not understanding what Stephan was getting at. Stephan smiled in a friendly manner, but his eyes weren't smiling.
"It could've been a complete coincidence that you were in front of this alley at this exact moment in time." Stephan said playfully. "Maybe you were just walking along and saw the action. If you're not here when the police show up, then who knows?"

Realization dawned on the man's face but Stephan knew that he would be conflicted. His "friends" were still in that alley, after all. He'd need one more push, and Stephan happened to have the solution in hand.
"There are 2 options here for you, my friend." Stephan said to the man. "You leave here quietly, and we can both forget this ever happened. Or..."
Stephan tightened his grip on the man's wrist, forcing a grunt from the man as it became more painful than ever.
"I break your wrist right here and now, the police come and you get arrested." Stephan growled.
He eased up on the man's wrist, giving him the space to break out from his grip. Stephan smiled pleasantly.
"So? what's it going to be?" He asked innocently.
The man tore his wrist away from Stephan's hand and started running away from him. He looked back in fear as he tripped, got back up and continued running. Stephan watched as the man disappeared into the night. The brown haired boy stood for a moment before he turned to handle the situation inside the alley, noticing as he did that the man had forgotten his bat. He picked it up and checked its weight before hefting it over his shoulder and advancing towards the other 2 men.
"Hey, fellas. Now that your buddy's gone, it's a 2 on 2." Stephan said. "You still sure you want to do this?"

Stephan regarded the scruffy-looking man with one eyebrow upraised, eyeing the steel bat.
"I wasn't asking you, you know." Stephan said. "Well, never mind."
Stephan extracted his phone from his pocket using his left hand. No telling what would happen if he tried his right. As he did, he also took his right hand out of his pocket, but not overtly so. If it came down to a fight, he'd have to trust his new power. And if things went down the way he figured they would, it would turn out to be a fight.
"Let's see... 9, 1, 1..." Stephan said out loud.
He keyed in the numbers slowly, partially because he was using his non-dominant hand, but mostly to give the man time to react. He couldn't exactly report a crime if it hadn't happened yet, could he? Although considering the girl in the back appeared to be getting mugged, he probably could. He pressed the dial button and put the phone to his ear.
"Hello, is this the police? I would like to report a crime." Stephan asked.

Derrick looked on as the others left, before looking back to his own surroundings. Where should he go? He'd sort of forgotten where he was in relation to everything else. He remembered that the spiders were further down, the door was behind him, so he was... somewhere in the middle? A perimeter search meant looking around, but where?

Derrick looked left, and then right. It all looked the same to him, but that was probably what a search was for. In the end, he decided to look somewhere that hadn't been covered. To that end, he went off in the opposite direction of his teammates. He wasn't sure what to look for, but anything interesting would probably do.

SOMEWHERE IN THE FADED CITY

A fist smashed through the head of a dissolution, melting the creature into a small pile of exp crystals. All around were similar piles of small crystals, surrounding the blue fist fighter. Blue Nova was back in action, and more bored than ever.
"Same old, same old." He muttered to himself.
Killing weak dissolutions was no fun. Killed one, killed em all. He kicked a pile of exp crystals over and kept walking. No way small fry would drop anything substantial. As he walked along he thought about what to do about his DGO career. Now that the blue guild wasn't a thing, where would he go? He could always switch guilds again. Maybe go to the green guild for a change. But then again, he was still somewhat bitter about the blue guild losing, so maybe not. He could go back to the red guild for some high octane fights, but he didn't really want to. He didn't really want to switch guilds at all, but he wasn't sure why.

He supposed that there was something bothering him. Thomas had said that Bel was alright now, but why hadn't she gone into deep ground yet? He had been expecting to see here somewhere - a king-level player didn't just disappear all of a sudden. Maybe she just hadn't logged on in the past few days, but if that was the case, why not? Finn wasn't the type of guy to pry into the lives of his friends, and he trusted that whatever he didn't know was stuff he didn't have to know. But being left in the dark like this made him frustrated, and when he was frustrated, he wanted to fight.

As the Blue Nova walked along, more dissolutions spawned in front of him. He didn't even wait for them to come, activating blue shift to close the distance before hitting one with a well placed punch. His fist radiated blue energy and exploded outwards, dissolving the dissolution in an instant.
"Feh. More small fry." He said out loud, before unleashing a roundhouse kick.
He didn't really care about exp, or whether his enemy was a dissolution, he just wanted to swing his fists. And swing he did, clearing the 3 dissolutions in seconds.
"What's it take to get a good fight around here?"
Maybe he could go back farther than when he was in a guild - back when he was a wandering fighter with nothing to his name but fighting spirit. When he didn't care whether he lived or died, or what the pay out would be afterwards, the time when he only cared that he fought, whether he won or lost.
"You know, that's starting to sound pretty good..." He muttered.
Blue Nova walked on, itching for a fight that would satisfy his bloodlust.
The horn had stopped a little while ago, but Stephan remembered which way it came from. He walked towards it at a regular but somewhat slow pace. He liked walking at night sometimes, something about not having anyone to answer to and going at your own pace. One of the best times to think was while taking a walk at night. He certainly had a lot to think about, considering everything that happened.

Up ahead, he heard some odd sounds. Something like a strange scraping(?) and garbled threats. He turned a corner and saw a somewhat menacing looking man in front of an alleyway, perhaps acting as a lookout for a group? Stephan stuck his hands in his pocket, partially to look non-threatening and partially to hide his hand. It'd be a tricky thing to explain to anyone, and he didn't feel like going into the details. Stephan had a lot on his plate and he didn't really want trouble. Or did he? He didn't really want to admit it but he wanted to try out his powers and see what he could do with them. He most definitely wanted to know just what he could do with his grip strength, but the question was, what would he do with it?

Stephan mulled those questions as he neared the alley, with the intention to keep walking. Curiosity got the better of him and he glanced into the alleyway as he passed, noting the odd placement of the dumpster and the 2 people behind it, as well as a third person at the end of the alley. He stopped in spite of the somewhat menacing figure standing in front, and called out to the occupants in the alley.
"Hey, you guys aren't doing anything illegal in there, are you?" Stephan asked.
It wasn't likely that he would going to get an honest answer, but sometimes a dishonest one said more.

Will post shortly. Need some stable Wi-Fi though.
@Dark Light Didn't look, so I'm going to assume it's a picture of cats.
Alright, that came out a lot longer than expected. I'm probably gonna try working on shortening those in future.
