Been on-and-off of the site for a long time. Male, late-twenties. My interests are varied, but steer towards western fantasy and sci-fi. I'm picky with my weeb media.
Thank you for the clarification I’ll go ahead and draft a sheet for the Drukhari detachment!
Excellent! Feel free to post it in the OOC thread when you're done! Looking forward to it!
Everyone else, same as above! Feel free to post your character sheets in the OOC thread and I'll get to them as and when I can! (Likely Thursday afternoon)
Would it be possible for my character to lead a faction of scourges and drukhari converts? They could reside on Yonah already, perhaps having come to the world seeking alliance with the Exodites or sheltering there from other Drukhari.
Or they could be fleet based. Whichever works for you.
So, regarding the Ynnari, the force has been sent by Yvraine herself, the Emissary of Ynnead, and the Ynnari Warhost will be lead by my character. Ynnari Warhosts are often comprised of squadrons of all sorts of Aeldari factions, including Drukhari, so your character could be the leader of the Drukhari detatchment of the Ynnari Warhost, if that makes sense! If that's the case, however, then your character and those in their service would have come to Yonah with the rest of the Ynnari force, through the Webway Gate.
In terms of scales for factions are we doing hard numbers? Or just general estimates
For the entire factions, general estimates; but if your character leads a squadron or a division of other Aeldari, I'd say harder numbers! You can always edit that into the character sheet skeleton. (I will likely be making a few edits to it myself, including Wargear and the like)
You can play Drukhari on the condition that you be a genuine Ynnari convert, since the Drukhari wouldn't show up in realspace to defend an Exodite Maiden world under any other circumstances I can think of hahah. You can retain the brutality and tactics of the Drukhari (as well as the super cool wings of a Scourge) but keep in mind that those of other factions will look at you askance for being Ynnari, doubly so for having a Drukhari background! If you're cool with that, go for it!
ALSO, I will be making the Leaders of the separate faction warhosts, unless anyone else wants to lead a faction. (There will be a few requirements for that to weed out powerplayers/god modders.)
I think I would prefer to play a lone character, if possible. Would a Ranger work well for that? Stealthy lone sniper/scout, possibly working on the orders of someone else's higher ranking character?
A Ranger is an excellent choice for a loner character! I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
Lilaethan means Maiden World in the Aeldari Lexicon. These worlds were originally chosen and terraformed to be paradise worlds by the ancient Aeldari at the height of their interstellar empire long before The Fall, and subsequently the birth of She who Thirsts, tore their realm apart and fractured the survivors of their race. It is on one such world that our story takes place.
Yonah, a small Maiden World with a fierce (but relatively few in number) Exodite population, has recently been seen by the Farseers of multiple Craftworlds. The Skeins of Fate show a grand threat to the planet, which will soon be beset by multiple enemies. The complex threads of possibility have seemed to coalesce over this tiny planet for reasons unknown. Yet, such dire warnings cannot be ignored. With the help of the Harlequins, an ancient and massive Webway Gate on Yonah's surface has been reactivated, and the psychic call for aid has gone out. Who will answer said call, and what terrible enemies are set against them? Perhaps more importantly; why Yonah? What ancient eldritch secret does this Maiden World hold that causes the Seer Councils and the Harlequins to be drawn to its defense? None yet know the answers; but of one thing we can be sure... the peace and balance of this paradise world will soon be shattered, for in the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war.
Heya'! Been gone from the Guild a long time, but this is something I wanted to do years ago, and just never had the time or drive. As luck would have it, I've got plenty of time on my hands now, and the drive is reignited! The general conceit of this roleplay is that we will be playing characters from all walks of Aeldari life, from Asuryani Aspect Warriors and Ghost Warriors to Ynnari weirdos, and even Exodite Dragon Riders! Very few Aeldari units will be off-limits, as I want the scale of this to be pretty large. The only exception is Drukhari, who are limited to working with the Ynnari! This Maiden World is in for some serious warfare!
Players are encouraged also to make a character that commands a small force, as once again the scale of this rp will be pretty big.
So! Rules! Just a few to cover, as the general Guild rules usually work fine for me, -No Phoenix Lords or other canon characters- originals only please! -No characters over 2k years old! -If playing a prescient character, the ability to predict the future will be severely hampered due to specifics of the story. Please keep that in mind and don't be upset if I don't let your character make accurate predictions! -Rules are subject to change at my whim, and I can always add more!
Name: Age: Current Faction: Ynnari, Harlequin, Craftworld, Exodite? Faction of Origin: If same as above, feel free to delete this line! Occupation: Are you an Aspect Warrior? A Death Jester? An Incubus who's abandoned the dark ways of the Drukhari and is working with the Ynnari? An Exodite riding a big-ass dinosaur? Appearance: Description required, images welcome! History: What brought your character to this point? Eldar have long lives, but you don't have to make this super long, as long as it's coherent and lore-abiding!
Below is a compilation of information about the location and current factions involved in the defense of the Maiden World!
"The World Spirit sings to us a dire warning. A great menace is forthcoming... but we will not flee. We will stand, with or without the aid of our kin from the stars. Ready my Dragon, and bring me my lance." -Carliah, Exodite Dragon Knight Leader of Yonah
Yonah is a verdant and temperate world- a paradise that is as-of-yet unspoiled by the depredations of the Monkeigh, Orks, or any of the other younger races, let alone the foul taint of the Dark Gods. Much of this is soon to change...
The planet itself has four continents, the largest of which houses the main Exodite colony, as well as the temple of the World Spirit, and the ancient Webway Gate. It is on this main continent that the bulk of the RP will take place.
The Local Exodites are relatively few in number, but are a hardy folk, prepared to defend their World Spirit with their lives. The forests and oceans of Yonah... the very planet itself readies to throw back whatever threats come to assail it, guided by the World Singers and protected by the Dragon Riding Knights of Yonah.
The Psychic call that rang out through the Webway was received by several Craftworlds; a general call for aid defending against some unnamed looming threat to Yonah. Even those Craftworlds too far away to receive the call have heard its echoes in their Seer Councils. Some Craftworlds will commit more forces than others, but likely many will come from all across the galaxy now that the Webway Gate on Yonah has been activated.
Not even the Exodites of Yonah know why the Harlequins of the Laughing God appeared when they did, just as the World Spirit began to send out its psychic songs of warning. However, none would complain that the Servants of Cegorach were the first to appear. The Harlequins aided in repairing the Webway Gate that had lain dormant for centuries, and used their knowledge of the Webway to guide those who would assist in the Planet's defense through the Labyrinthine realm to the Planet's surface. Now the Harlequin Troupes stand ready to aid in the defense of their kin, and their mirthful theatrics do a great deal for the morale of the imperiled Exodites.
The mysterious servants of the Death God Ynnead have appeared on Yonah, apparently guided by the visions of Yvraine herself, though not one of the Triumvirate have committed themselves to the battle. Instead they send a scant warhost, though even when few in number, the agents of Ynnead strike fear and awe in equal measure amongst kin and enemy alike. What ulterior motives might have brought them hence, and will they abandon the world when they get what they have come for?
All of these groups assemble on the Maiden World, prepared for a grand defense against an unknown (but now prepared-for) encroaching threat. Tensions run high, fists remain clenched, and a bizarre psychic anomaly hangs over the planet, tangling the threads of fate and making foresight all-but-impossible. However, it does not take a Farseer to tell that the battle to come will change Yonah forever.

Potentially interested! Bit of a newer fan of 40k, sadly don't know all that much about Aeldari, but happy to read up and learn. When you say a "small force" what does that mean? Like a small army, or a squad, or...?
A squad would be best, but depending on the character concept you role with, something bigger may be warranted. A Farseer or Autarch, for instance, would likely be commanding a larger force, while an Exarch would just be commanding their squad of Aspect Warriors. Of course, you are very welcome to play a lone character also, such as an Exodite hunter or Dragon Rider or an Outcast!
If you have any Aeldari lore questions, ask away and I'll be happy to assist!
I'm writing up the OOC thread now, with a bit more detail on Yonah and a faction breakdown as well, but feeel free to start on the CS. I should have the other threads up sometime this evening!
