I've no idea how this would work, but I just had this concept in mind (plus is would be trippy as heck!):
Instead of through introspection and monologue, the idea would be to portray what make each character themselves would be through words and action seen through the eyes of the poor mooks/baddies/rivals they would face. That would be a huge study in characterization and perspective, in that each player would effectively try to impact each scene as much as they can through actions and words alone. The plot would probably be pretty big on action, and the pace would probably means shorter but faster posts as a result.
In this thread you will find various starter posts along with a short explanation of the setting and/or plot. Should something interest you, claim it and I'll start us up with a thread where you'll be free to chat with me about the details in the OOC. Should you find we don't match one way or another, well, at least we won't waste our time and hope on a doomed project, won't we? :)
This thread will be updated as plot bunnies strike and as plots are claimed.
He couldn't say if it was the mechanical voice of the central AI of the detention center or if it was the hollowness of his steps that made him do it, but do it he did. He was sick of this job, of doing atrocities in the name of a tyrant that would not show his face to the world. He was empty, numb, and maybe he wanted to repent of his sins by one little act of rebellion... he honestly could not tell. As it was, it was he who killed his fellow warden, who entered the code that would cut the power from the cell doors and set the prisoners free. It was he who made order into chaos, pristine injustice into bloodstained retribution.
Heart hammering upon his heaving chest, he felt a strange sort of euphoria as he shed the loathed uniform he had worn for so long, his pistol cold against his now naked hand as he clutched it before him. He would surely be caught, but he would be caught fighting, he would be caught of his own free will among the bulled ridden bodies of his former colleges. Yes, should he not make it, he would still leave something for that cursed city to think about.
Maybe he had lost his mind after too many nights sleepless from guilt-ridden nightmares, but honestly he did not care at the moment. He felt light and giddy, and is was with a mad grin that he sprinted away from the scene of his crime, the cooling body he had shot in the back slumped bonelessly over the monitoring consoles overlooking Block G. With such a highly guarded prison, it was surprisingly easy to collect the codes of all his fellow warden, with a few pitiful acts and the impression of a coward, he knew everything that was going on in here. Oh, he had not planned to do it, of course, but power corrupted, and knowledge even more so, he supposed.
His place was no longer here. As he peaked over the corner of a corridor, he was met with the sight of a squad of Disciplinary Enforcers coming his way. Breath itching in fright, he hid inside an alcove as his survival instinct finally resurfaced. Too late, they had spotted him. As it was, he did not die fighting after all...
Later, as she ordered the janitors to clean up the mess after the cells were made operational again, Irene Wagner thought about her options. Steely eyes racking over her men, she finally found four promising recruits and gestured for them to approach her. They did so, their posture both awed and fearful as was protocol when addressing a superior.
“You four, I want all inmates back in their cell by week's end. Are we clear?” Her tone leaving no doubt of what would happen should she be disobeyed, it was no surprise that her order was met with stiff salutes and 'yes, ma'am'.
“Dismissed,” with a gesture of her gloved hand they were gone, and she was left to face the press to minimize the damages. She also knew perfectly well what would happen should she herself prove to be sub par to her superiors.
As the blond woman walked away, her boots left faint traces of slowly congealed blood, as if an ill omen for any who crossed her path.
Idea: Made with many expendable characters that can change from minor to major roles at a whim, this is a dark piece as a military police seek out escaped prisoners from a high security state prison. Lots of shades of grey to be seen, to be sure!
The door opened with a thump and the sound of hinges protesting as a torrent of rainwater entered the pristine lobby along with a soaked man. Sidestepping to the left just enough to close the now wide open door with a grunt, the brunet cursed softly under his breath as he finally prevailed against the strong gust of wind pushing the polished oaken panel of the heavy door against his palm. The outside world was grey and angry today, and going home was a solace that nearly made him forget the cold clinging to his skin from the now useless weight of his coat.
His task done, he was about to sigh in relief when a soft thump from further along the house made him freeze. Jonas was sure that his girlfriend would not be out of bed due to her cold, so who was making that noise? Raven-coloured eyebrows furrowing in worry, the brunet quickly left his keys on the hook by the door and made his way to the source of the sound; the kitchen. As he approached, more sounds made themselves known, but as he arrived in the usually sunlit room...
He only found a certain blond midget that should be resting making something sweet smelling, her cute face set into a rather intense moue of concentration as she stirred the mixture, her whole body messy with flour. Letting out a soft relieved laugh, Jonas approached the blonde with a gentle smile on his face.
“What are you trying to make here, butter chicken?” Peeking into the bowl, the man's inquisitive finger was swapped away with a laugh as Mandy shook her head, a wide smile on her face.
“No, silly, I'm making a cake, see?” Peering at her work, she suddenly looked worried “Does it look like butter chicken...?”
Smiling once more and ready to reassure her about her baking skills, Jonas was startled by the next words she spoke.
“It's for Nelson, he's out getting more butter for it.” What?!
“My dad?” He croaked, eyes widening in mild horror.
“Yeah! He passed by to see you!” Mandy said, beaming a sunny smile up at him with her cheeks pink with proud excitement.
I'd be interested in either a Witch x Witch Hunter or the Demon King/Queen x Adventurer idea, if you're still taking partners! I don't mind either MxF or FxF, so feel free to choose! :D
You may call me Lum or Lumi and I'm here to get a few simple plots running. You don't have to be Shakespeare as I'm nothing near that level either, so let's just do our best and pull our weight as a team, yeah?
A bit about what you'll be getting into:
While I tend to keep to half page to full-page worth of content on average, I can easily do double that if I'm in the writing mood. I DO try to mirror, though, so tell me if you have a set limit or minimum of paragraphs a post!
I love chatting with my partners, but please keep it separate from the IC. OOC chatter mixed with the story just tend to take me right out of the plot and back into reality and I can't take what you write seriously anymore.
I write both genders and all three main types of pairing equally, and I'm always willing to listen to suggestion as long as the romance makes sense.
That said, there is not express need for romance, we can do bromance stories just as well! :D
I like knowing there are a few events we are working towards, it just help keep the plot going forwards instead of stalling due to lack of planning. There's no need for extreme brainstorming, but a vague idea of just where the rp is going would be nice.
If you want something mature, PLEASE tell me beforehand, ok? I like my plot above all, but mature scenes may happen if you are also an adult and our characters end up having a chemistry. At that point, we'll just talk it out and rp it out over PMs.
I can roleplay in threads or in PMs!
My Cravings (if interested, please send me a PM!):
Action Adventure Ambiguous Intentions or Goals Assassins, Spies, Thieves and other shady elements Character Development Close Calls Duty-bound Knights Dystopian Corporations Estranged Enemies Fantasy or Alternate History Flawed Characters Plot related news (TV, radio, newspaper, rumors, anything!) Scheming Princesses Science Fiction Slice of Life mixed with Action and/or Adventure Venomous Friends (shady and cruel yet strangely devoted) World Buiding
I'm Luminosa, and I got plenty of time to write! I'm a old hand at roleplaying, as I keep coming back to it all the time since I was a young teenager. I'm twenty five, from Canada, and I intend to get busy soon in the following months. Until my plan unfold, let us write! :D
Jules Verne-esque science fiction and fairy tale fantasy are my favorites, the ones that make you dream of brand new worlds and adventures full of mysteries and make your grow as a person. Inversely, I like when rpg elements and the passing of time is visible while still juggling slice of life and action, and that's why I love the Persona franchise so much. Something could be done merging a bit of everything, I think, but we'll see! Oh yeah, I also write primarily original stuff, not so much fandom.
