Can't beat my own demons, so I beat up fictional ones instead. It's fun!

There could be a hundred hours in a day and I still wouldn't get around to half the things I need to do.

Something about winter makes me want to curl up on the couch, wrap myself in a blanket, and join way more RPs than I have time for.

This is the kind of site where you think about it every day even if you haven't actually done anything here for months. Or is that just me?

Bio
Luminosity
Hey there! Thanks for stopping by. I'm Luminosity, but feel free to call me Lumi or Lum. If you're here, I suppose that means you have some interest in me, my writing, or in roleplaying with me. Here's a bit about me and my preferences. In general, if you want to talk, about RPing or anything else, just shoot me a PM. I always try to make time for new friends.
About Me
Basics I'm in my 20s, female, and currently trying to figure out how that whole "being an adult" thing works. I've been roleplaying on this site for a while off and on, but in general I've been roleplaying for over ten years, here and there. I'm on US Central Time currently.
Writing Level My writing level on this site varies from casual to advanced, though the sweet spot is usually around 3-5 paragraphs per post. If I'm feeling inspired I tend to write kinda long posts, so be warned. I've never been a free-level roleplayer, and writing that little per post is typically something that makes me lose interest.
Activity I love RPing, but I am busy quite often, and so my posting rate will vary. Sometimes I'll be able to post multiple times a day, and sometimes I won't be able to post more than once a week. Please keep this in mind if you'd like to RP with me. Also that more applies to 1x1's, I do my best to be consistent if I'm joining a group RP. My normal writing times for RP are first thing in the morning or somewhat late at night, but sometimes I can squeeze posts in during the afternoon.
Preferences I'm mostly into fantasy RPs with a good dose of adventure and action, especially dark fantasy settings. In terms of mature content, I prefer a certain level of realism, and I'm totally fine with language and gore (I actually really like writing fight scenes). I'm happy to write romance, but I really prefer not to force it or have it be the main focus of a roleplay, but rather something that happens naturally if it feels right for my character. I've never written smut/sex scenes without fading to black, and it's not something I'm especially interested in trying. I enjoy group RPs as well as 1x1's, and while I've GMed in the past, I don't do it very often now, due to stress and time constraints.
I really only RP as female characters here, as that's just my personal preference. I write all kinds in lots of genres in my personal work, but I RP here to simply write what I enjoy most. I'm fine with taking on minor characters or NPCs of any gender if the RP needs it, though.
Games
Do You Play League of Legends? I used to! You can probably guess who my favorite champion is. I haven't played in a long time, though, since I was never very good and ran into one too many unpleasant online experiences. I still follow the game for all of the amazing art and characters it produces, and I'm interested in the upcoming titles in that universe that aren't MOBAs.
So What Do You Play? Lately? Apex Legends, Mortal Kombat 11, Final Fantasy (VII, VII Remake, VIII, XII, a real FF trip lately), and Resident Evil 3. Honestly, not a lot lately, just haven't had the time/interest in anything for a bit.
That's about it! Thanks for the interest, and if you want to get in touch, don't hesitate to send a PM my way. See you around :)
To clarify, the environment doesn't look at all like what we were just in right?
So like, we can't see the carriages anymore, and basically just blacked out once they got hit by something? Do I have that right? That was how I read it, anyway.
It was proving to be a busy morning, but Seph had expected no less. She'd spent most of the time in observation, getting to know all of her new companions by watching how they behaved, and as far as people-watching went, this was not disappointing. The half-orc was particularly interesting, and thankfully his nose stuck mostly to her hands when he went around sniffing people, rather than anywhere more intrusive. Then there was the elf, the bard, a lovely woman with a lovely voice, even when speaking. Seph liked bards, and expected to like Sona as well.
The cleric, well, he was even younger and greener than she was, and from the looks of things, he hadn't been chewed up much by the world yet. It was a little sad, actually; he was kinda cute, in that fairly naive, chivalrous way. But everyone seemed to have a point where the world became real for them. Seph's had been particularly painful, and she hoped this Sundos would have a better experience.
Keystone and Lucan she'd already met, of course. She grimaced apologetically at missing the early morning exercises with Keystone, but in all honesty, she hadn't kept up with those too well since being on her own. She never claimed to be very good at being a monk. Sleep was a valuable thing, to be cherished, since many did not find it so easily. She certainly hadn't, for a while, and now that she was sleeping fine again, she savored every second of it. Kyra seemed like a take charge sort of young woman. She had to be, to have a bloody wolf at her beck and call, right? Seph imagined so. In any case, Persephone at least took the time to introduce herself to everyone in her group, but her lateness in rising meant she had to do some last minute preparations while the others finished eating.
Once they were on the road, at last, Seph tugged Boro, her donkey, along behind her. He was far from the most prestigious of animals to have in the company, when compared to dangerous wolves and powerful horses, but Seph hardly felt the need to be proud of such things. He was a difficult and often stupid lout, in her opinion, but they got along well enough when they needed now. Currently, he wasn't putting up much of a fight, which was excellent. Seph would've hated to be embarrassed by him in front of all her new friends.
Keeping pace with the group, leading the donkey with one hand and using her staff as a walking stick in the other, Seph listened in on the conversation, and was certainly available if anyone wished to speak with her.
Despite her inexperience with the darker horrors of war and struggle beyond the walls of Armistice, the smell that Fiona awoke to was a familiar one. Ash, smoke, fire, burning. That hazy, acrid stench. It was something that both comforted and haunted any Order member. A source of protection and strength, even as its creation steadily decayed their insides. Fiona was perhaps less fond of the smell of burning, and the burnt, than most of her brothers and sisters.
She groaned softly, finding herself on her side in the cracked earth. The crossguard of her longsword dug painfully into her hip, but other than that she felt intact, which was a bit surprising given how she remembered the carriage being smashed into, or attacked, or something. Fiona rolled onto her back and blinked the bleariness from her eyes, pushing herself at least up onto her elbows. The three figures had already arrived, as had the faceless human-like things before them, and Fiona froze where she lay. It was a first taste of how something real and horrific being in front of her compared to simply studying and learning of it. Uneasiness coiled through her insides, with a touch like ice.
Fiona looked to her allies, a few of which had already risen. The male mercenary-type, the prisoner, he was up, as were the two that had introduced themselves as Jessabelle and... Nicholas, she believed. Jessabelle cleared the smoke away somewhat with a magically infused arrow, the act seeming to take quite a bit out of her. Nicholas... winked at her? Why would he do that? She found it such an odd, lighthearted thing, like this situation was just another day for him. It actually made her feel a little less petrified; the ice beginning to thaw.
Clambering to her feet, Fiona drew her sword with a ring of steel. The long blade was polished to a brilliant shine, its edges honed deadly sharp from both excellent care and lack of use. Today would be the first day her weapon tasted blood of monstrous beings. When Nicholas charged, Fiona was a half step behind him, rushing forward as well. She targeted the faceless man that was next closest, spinning into a wide horizontal slash, her sword singing through the air with swiftness and force.
Naturally Fiona was a bit taken aback by the revelation that the giant man was a God Eater, or at least he declared himself to be one. She wasn't sure whether or not to believe him. She'd heard stories of his kind from older members of the Order, but in all honesty, she hadn't truly accepted that they could be true, that men could truly desire to consume the flesh of other men. The beasts surely did enough of that in the world, she thought. It was possible he was simply pretending to be one, she supposed. He size and strength could not be faked, of course, and many likely took him at his word. Fiona almost did. Being feared certainly had its uses, even if Fiona did not plan to take advantage of that fear herself. Many of her brothers and sisters took a different path, or tried to. She would have to see him doing the things she'd heard about to really believe. Immediately she didn't want to, but also couldn't help feeling morbidly curious.
By the time she recovered herself enough to form words again, the supposed God Eater had finished his own question, and what was perhaps a veiled threat at the end of it. She'd noticed him sizing her up, eyes traveling up and down, something that earned him a hard stare from her in return. If he meant harm to her, well... he would likely find himself outmatched, especially with Ezheia here. "The Burning Light's path is not something one follows for power," she stated firmly. "Our magic corrupts and destroys our bodies from within over time, despite the rigorous training we practice to endure it. The power is used to destroy threats and heal in equal measure."
She looked at his armor, which was quite sturdy, something she wouldn't be able to pierce through with her martial abilities. He would cook quite nicely inside it of, however, something that even the lowest Order Disciple knew. Even the thickest armor did little to protect against the impressive heat of magical fire. The metal would only burn a man inside of his own suit.
"To be in the Burning Light is to serve the people, above all." She left it at that. It felt a bit like something a Preceptor would say to a child in the Order, but despite that, Fiona believed it whole-heartedly. Fame and glory were things often sought after by those of her kind, but rarely were they earned alongside a lengthy life. Nor were they achieved through selfish pursuits, but instead those that were revered by the people.
