Can't beat my own demons, so I beat up fictional ones instead. It's fun!

There could be a hundred hours in a day and I still wouldn't get around to half the things I need to do.

Something about winter makes me want to curl up on the couch, wrap myself in a blanket, and join way more RPs than I have time for.

This is the kind of site where you think about it every day even if you haven't actually done anything here for months. Or is that just me?

Bio

Luminosity

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by. I'm Luminosity, but feel free to call me Lumi or Lum. If you're here, I suppose that means you have some interest in me, my writing, or in roleplaying with me. Here's a bit about me and my preferences. In general, if you want to talk, about RPing or anything else, just shoot me a PM. I always try to make time for new friends.

About Me

Basics

I'm in my 20s, female, and currently trying to figure out how that whole "being an adult" thing works. I've been roleplaying on this site for a while off and on, but in general I've been roleplaying for over ten years, here and there. I'm on US Central Time currently.

Writing Level
My writing level on this site varies from casual to advanced, though the sweet spot is usually around 3-5 paragraphs per post. If I'm feeling inspired I tend to write kinda long posts, so be warned. I've never been a free-level roleplayer, and writing that little per post is typically something that makes me lose interest.

Activity
I love RPing, but I am busy quite often, and so my posting rate will vary. Sometimes I'll be able to post multiple times a day, and sometimes I won't be able to post more than once a week. Please keep this in mind if you'd like to RP with me. Also that more applies to 1x1's, I do my best to be consistent if I'm joining a group RP. My normal writing times for RP are first thing in the morning or somewhat late at night, but sometimes I can squeeze posts in during the afternoon.

Preferences
I'm mostly into fantasy RPs with a good dose of adventure and action, especially dark fantasy settings. In terms of mature content, I prefer a certain level of realism, and I'm totally fine with language and gore (I actually really like writing fight scenes). I'm happy to write romance, but I really prefer not to force it or have it be the main focus of a roleplay, but rather something that happens naturally if it feels right for my character. I've never written smut/sex scenes without fading to black, and it's not something I'm especially interested in trying. I enjoy group RPs as well as 1x1's, and while I've GMed in the past, I don't do it very often now, due to stress and time constraints.

I really only RP as female characters here, as that's just my personal preference. I write all kinds in lots of genres in my personal work, but I RP here to simply write what I enjoy most. I'm fine with taking on minor characters or NPCs of any gender if the RP needs it, though.

Games

Do You Play League of Legends?

I used to! You can probably guess who my favorite champion is. I haven't played in a long time, though, since I was never very good and ran into one too many unpleasant online experiences. I still follow the game for all of the amazing art and characters it produces, and I'm interested in the upcoming titles in that universe that aren't MOBAs.

So What Do You Play?
Lately? Apex Legends, Mortal Kombat 11, Final Fantasy (VII, VII Remake, VIII, XII, a real FF trip lately), and Resident Evil 3. Honestly, not a lot lately, just haven't had the time/interest in anything for a bit.

That's about it! Thanks for the interest, and if you want to get in touch, don't hesitate to send a PM my way. See you around :)

Hope your weeks are going well. Mine's been a bit of a rollercoaster.
There's no reason to associate anything characters say IC with a player's beliefs OOC. If someone is projecting themselves that strongly into their own character, that's... well, not great. If someone believes a character's opinion IC reflects their OOC beliefs, that's also not great. We are not our characters.

I seriously doubt any IC debate would spill into here. Our characters don't seem the type to get heated about this stuff, and you all seem very reasonable and nice to me, too. I wouldn't worry about it.

Edit: I will also try to get a post up later today if I can.
I totally volunteer Fiona if someone needs to get hit :P Getting a flawless victory would just go right to her head, haha.
I think mostly the fact that it wasn't set up was what stretched plausibility. My youtube search of Spartacus shield jump found a scene where that maneuver was very much intended by both guys, whereas Nicholas isn't prepared to launch Annalynne. Even though she's light, having a person push their whole weight off a shield while unprepared seems like it could easily mess Nicholas up. Which might be kinda funny and/or dramatic if someone took a hit because of it. The jump would also be really tough to pull off, as Nicholas's shield is probably moving, considering that he's in the middle of a fight.

Just my two cents. I thought the post was fine otherwise.

Interacting With: Sundos

Seph's cheeks reddened slightly at the cleric's compliments. Boro began to lag slightly behind, distracted by something. Absently she gave him a tug to force him into keeping up. "You're not really one for subtlety, are you?" she teased gently, a gleam of amusement in her nearly violet eyes. Sundos seemed really invested in that god of his, Lathander. She wasn't sure he'd gone two sentences without referencing him in some way since she'd come across him. There was nothing wrong with that, Seph supposed. Whatever kept one's spirits up and got them through the day.

"Thank you, though. I don't know if I bless anybody, I'm no priestess. I just do what I can. Same as anybody trying to make a difference, right?" Sure, maybe she had a few more tools at her disposal to help people with, but it wasn't like the other good people in the world were giving less of an effort than she was. She supposed she could be especially cynical about it, and say she just fixed people up because it was work, and often paid for her expenses, but that wasn't entirely true. Even if she did have other reasons for traveling and exploring places far from home, she found purpose in what she did along the way. The act of healing rarely just healed the person with the injury.

"So, enjoying life in the great wide world? I hope you don't mind me saying, but you look a little... uh, green, I guess." She looked for a nicer way to put it, but it hadn't come to her. He practically exuded it, with how enthusiastic he was about his religion and his duties. Seph wondered how long he'd been out and about among all the "normal" people. Not that this group they found themselves in was anything resembling normal.
Thanks :) Yeah, Fiona basically figures if the giant, burly God-Eater guy didn't hurt the thing by impaling it all the way through the chest, her attacks aren't going to do any better that way. And magic isn't really a go-to weapon for her, though she has doubts if torching the thing would work anyway.
Posted! Short version can be found by just reading the last little paragraph, lol.

The sounds of battle erupted around Fiona, clashing of steel on steel, weapons whooshing and whistling through the air, grunts of effort, boots digging for purchase against the cracked earth. Fiona's well-practiced opening attack ended with a dull clang of her enchanted blade against her opponent's club, rebounding her weapon backwards harmlessly away from him. It was a simple instrument her enemy wielded, but also a dangerous one given its weight. Her layer of mail would do little to protect her from it, should she take a direct hit.

Thankfully, her footwork and her decision not to overly commit to the offensive enabled her time enough to react to the faceless brute's retaliation. His club came down swiftly towards her face, and rather than try to block or deflect such a heavy swing, Fiona darted sideways a step, feeling the rush of air that the club through next to her before it thudded heavily into the ground.

Given a bit of space from the fight, she was able to at least partially observe the other events taking place. Ezheia's shout of no had given her pause, and perhaps subconsciously made her second-guess her attack, but it was too late now, with battle already joined. Nicholas was holding up well beside her. Remarkably, the supposed God Eater had impaled his target, but it seemed unaffected, even offering a fierce blow in return. At the same time, the one who'd called herself Senua had managed to kill one of them by beheading it. Fiona took this as evidence that attacks targeting the body were not worth making.

Their faceless enemies were even more unnerving up close, with their gurgles and unnatural moans, and the way they seemed to radiate their excitement. For what, Fiona couldn't say. For violence, the prospect of a fight? For mere existence? Perhaps they believed their opponents hopelessly outmatched, soon to end broken upon the ground? Fiona's curiosity was almost enough to halt her aggression, but only almost. For better or worse, she'd thrown herself into a fight, and would now need to see it to its conclusion, or forfeit her life instead. Despite the startling new environment she found herself in, caught in her first battle against real supernatural horrors, there was a definite sort of familiarity to it all. At its core, this was just what she'd practiced for years: martial combat between two individuals with physical weapons, making judgements, striking, and withdrawing in order to gain the upper hand. When she ignored their grotesque features, she could almost place herself back in the temple, sparring against the other Disciples.

With vigor, she stepped back in towards her club-wielding enemy, taking her blade into both hands and making a strong overhand strike, attacking diagonally downwards at the faceless head before her.
@icmasticc Hey. I like your new avatar :) Just thought I'd mention that.
