Can't beat my own demons, so I beat up fictional ones instead. It's fun!

There could be a hundred hours in a day and I still wouldn't get around to half the things I need to do.

Something about winter makes me want to curl up on the couch, wrap myself in a blanket, and join way more RPs than I have time for.

This is the kind of site where you think about it every day even if you haven't actually done anything here for months. Or is that just me?

Bio

Luminosity

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by. I'm Luminosity, but feel free to call me Lumi or Lum. If you're here, I suppose that means you have some interest in me, my writing, or in roleplaying with me. Here's a bit about me and my preferences. In general, if you want to talk, about RPing or anything else, just shoot me a PM. I always try to make time for new friends.

About Me

Basics

I'm in my 20s, female, and currently trying to figure out how that whole "being an adult" thing works. I've been roleplaying on this site for a while off and on, but in general I've been roleplaying for over ten years, here and there. I'm on US Central Time currently.

Writing Level
My writing level on this site varies from casual to advanced, though the sweet spot is usually around 3-5 paragraphs per post. If I'm feeling inspired I tend to write kinda long posts, so be warned. I've never been a free-level roleplayer, and writing that little per post is typically something that makes me lose interest.

Activity
I love RPing, but I am busy quite often, and so my posting rate will vary. Sometimes I'll be able to post multiple times a day, and sometimes I won't be able to post more than once a week. Please keep this in mind if you'd like to RP with me. Also that more applies to 1x1's, I do my best to be consistent if I'm joining a group RP. My normal writing times for RP are first thing in the morning or somewhat late at night, but sometimes I can squeeze posts in during the afternoon.

Preferences
I'm mostly into fantasy RPs with a good dose of adventure and action, especially dark fantasy settings. In terms of mature content, I prefer a certain level of realism, and I'm totally fine with language and gore (I actually really like writing fight scenes). I'm happy to write romance, but I really prefer not to force it or have it be the main focus of a roleplay, but rather something that happens naturally if it feels right for my character. I've never written smut/sex scenes without fading to black, and it's not something I'm especially interested in trying. I enjoy group RPs as well as 1x1's, and while I've GMed in the past, I don't do it very often now, due to stress and time constraints.

I really only RP as female characters here, as that's just my personal preference. I write all kinds in lots of genres in my personal work, but I RP here to simply write what I enjoy most. I'm fine with taking on minor characters or NPCs of any gender if the RP needs it, though.

Games

Do You Play League of Legends?

I used to! You can probably guess who my favorite champion is. I haven't played in a long time, though, since I was never very good and ran into one too many unpleasant online experiences. I still follow the game for all of the amazing art and characters it produces, and I'm interested in the upcoming titles in that universe that aren't MOBAs.

So What Do You Play?
Lately? Apex Legends, Mortal Kombat 11, Final Fantasy (VII, VII Remake, VIII, XII, a real FF trip lately), and Resident Evil 3. Honestly, not a lot lately, just haven't had the time/interest in anything for a bit.

That's about it! Thanks for the interest, and if you want to get in touch, don't hesitate to send a PM my way. See you around :)

@Spoopy Scary Would you be interested in a Fiona/Finch collab? If you're not working/involved with something already.
I'd actually love to with Fiona, and bow out of the collab, which I don't think actually started. Might make a solo post, or if someone else wants to chat briefly with Fiona after the (brief) fight, I'm all for it.
Calariel

Calariel smiled shyly in greeting as the wizard spoke her name, and she filed into the room, taking a place near the back of the group with her back to a wall. She crossed one leg over the other, folding her hands in her lap, and listened intently to the goings-on in the room, as she couldn't make out much with her sight. Her ears picked up the hobbit whispering of Gandalf, but Calariel very much doubted that. She'd heard of Gandalf being in Rivendell near the time she left, and he wouldn't have come north like this. No, this must be another.

The spectacle of the wizard's mystery was largely lost on her, though she could imagine it. The thumping on the floor from his staff, the burning away of the inscription before that, the muffled thunder, the clearing of the smoke. She felt like she was in one of the stories she'd heard as a child, tales that kept her awake long into the night with thoughts of adventure and great deeds.

"What are we to call you, if I may ask?" the elf ventured carefully. They were at a disadvantage, name-wise. And Calariel had to admit a great deal of curiosity, as to who had summoned her by name, and why her, among these others.
I'll go tomorrow. Been pretty distracted lately, sorry.
Berich, Fiona, and Faruq?

I'm game. Don't know when exactly will be the best time, but send me a link to whatever and I'll write when I can.
Are you guys waiting on me? I just posted before @Sigurd did. I could go again, I guess, but I thought I'd wait.
Made a little post. Bottling stuff up is always fun.
Keep your sword handy, Gaela had said. Fiona sincerely hoped she wouldn't need it with this group.

She already disliked some of them, and downright detested others. Only a scant few had made decent first impressions on her. But worst, those that seemed most opposed to her beliefs, and each other, were likely out of her league as far as combating them went. The orc touted his own prowess, but Fiona didn't doubt he could back it up. He struck her as almost senselessly violent, but she supposed that fit well into his brand of warrior-culture. The Altmer she was predisposed to dislike, and he really wasn't doing any favors for himself with the long-winded justification of kill. Hell, she could identify with the bandits more easily. They just wanted coin and loot.

But both of them would likely dispose of her if she opposed them. They both had vastly more experience, and while Maulakanth seemed to prefer the armor his pectoral muscles provided, Cyrendil was better equipped, too. With all the obvious moral failings of most of the others, every fiber of Fiona's being cried out to separate herself from the lot, but what Gaela had said rang true: she couldn't live out her life as a fugitive, nor clear her name on her own. So for once, Fiona heavily restricted the words that she allowed to escape her.

"My name's Fiona, if anyone didn't catch it." She followed along with the others, keeping near the rear of the group. She had no intention of trying to lead any of these people anywhere, nor did she expect they would want to follow. For her part of the discussion, she happened to agree most with the merchant-looking man, she didn't believe he'd ever said his name. There were no bandits or raiders guarding the charge they needed to free, but city and castle guards, people just doing their jobs in all likelihood. The orc's blood lust was perhaps the worst justification she could think of for killing them.

Aggressive fighter though she was, Fiona tried to restrict her offensive to those that threatened towns and villages, not protected them. But this was not the time nor place to say such things. They would need to find somewhere to rest and camp for the night.

Sleep seemed unlikely, as Fiona wasn't sure she wanted to turn her back around these companions, let alone fall asleep.
So many posts.

I'll try to catch up and make a post today.
Oh, yeah, no worries. Cal's obviously more used to interacting with other elves, who notice her eyes right away. It's cool, just another thing for her to feel awkward about :)
