N-Nate?

That was new to him. Nobody ever called Nathaniel "Nate" before, although that was probably because they were busy calling him other nicknames. Still, with that said, "Nate" was definitely something Nathaniel can handle.

"Sure, you can call me Nate." He replied before taking out a card to show to the two girls in front of him, revealing it to be Performapal Whip Snake. "I use a Performapal deck, so you can probably tell that I'm more of an Entertainment Duel kind of guy. Not sure I can handle a Turbo Duel, to be honest. I mean, what if you crash?" said Nathaniel, shuddering at the thought. He knew Action Duels had their own dangers, but at least he was used to it and knew how to avoid some common pitfalls. Turbo Duels just seem so much more dangerous.

"Me? Oh no, I wasn't planning on dueling." Nathaniel answered Megan a little sheepishly. Although now that he thought about it, he hasn't had a full duel since he's been here. He had his placement duel, but even that was unfortunately interrupted. Maybe an actual duel would be good for him. As he prepared to reach for his Duel Disk and maybe ask for a challenge, he realized he forgot something very important.

"So... What are your names?"

...We're still playing card games, right?

You bet we are.
While Nathaniel was excited by the prospect of an Action Duel at first, the beginning turns were enough to cause Nathaniel to physically cringe. It was looking to be another one-sided beatdown in favor of the black-haired girl. The red-haired girl couldn't even play monsters, while the black-haired one was swarming the field with her "Deepspace" monsters, whatever those were. At least the red-haired one managed to play out an Evasion, allowing her to stay in the game with 400 Life Points, but Nathaniel was sure that her loss was imminent. Then she started playing monsters. Nathaniel was skeptical of the good a low-level monster like that would do her, but it bought her enough time for her to pull off more plays. By the duel's end, Nathaniel was clapping with excitement at the brilliant reversal he had just witnessed.

"Now that was a duel!" said Nathaniel, cheering from the stands.

It was a fantastic Action Duel, with great use of Action Cards but not an overabundance of them. Not to mention the fact that the game was extremely close. It was certainly a lot better than the first duel, that was for sure. Still, it was a little upsetting that there was barely anybody watching this duel. Most other people still carried their impressions from that suckier first duel, which was troubling. But Nathaniel was glad that there were still people around who can appreciate a good Action Duel.

With that, Nathaniel decided to get out of his seat and head down to the arena to greet and congratulate the two on their outstanding performances.

"That was a great game, you two!" Nathaniel said cheerfully as he approached them, raising a hand in friendly greeting. "My name's Nathaniel, an aspiring Action Duelist myself, and you can definitely count me as a fan."

Couldn't you have just posted the link to this?

I took a few months' hiatus from the game, so I might not be as up-to-date as I would like to be, but Heavy Storm is still banned, right?
Sitting in the stands, Nathaniel could not help but cover his wide-open mouth in response to how atrocious that was. Good for the duelists for trying their best with what they had, but man, that was terrible! First the boy from Wind picks up Lousy Luck, then the boy from Light picks up a complete dud. Nathaniel has seen duelists make even Mad Hurricane work to their advantage before, so seeing this was pretty sad. Nathaniel could already tell from some of the students' reactions that Action Duels were about to get a pretty bad reputation, which was frankly an upsetting thought.

Nathaniel let out a sigh as he stood up and prepared to leave, when his ears suddenly perked up at the sound of "Action Duel." He looked to see a red-haired girl and her friend ask the Colonel for an Action Duel. Grinning, Nathaniel decided to sit back down and stick around. Hopefully, this one will go a little better than the last one.

I'd have to see more to properly judge. If most Actin Duels end up like this one then yeah, I'll change it, but keep in mind all of this is also experimental as I've never done this before.

Alright, that's fair.

The anime also threw away that gimmick right after using it THREE TIMES.

Nah, I'm good. Going for Action Cards should be a gamble.

Well, Action Spells are already a gamble by themselves, since if you get a useless one, you can't pick up another one unless you get rid of it first *cough*NoAction*cough*.

I'm just saying, the way I see it, a lot more duels are going to end up like this one.
