Current I love hunt showdown. nothing like talking shit in prox chat while having a friendly cowboy shootout over a bayou bounty. Now I just need to acquire skill over ungodly amount of hours playing the game

Angus McSix and the Sword of Power is a pretty damn good album. I was hesitant about Thomas Winkler's new band after being booted from Gloryhammer but my worry was unfounded. He is def back one better

What's all this about DnD, where my CoC bois at who enjoy the game where every encounter can be a TPK, never use magic unless you want to die, and where you never save the day but delay the inevitable

@Override Interested, though I'd like for some info on the limits of a Lycan character. Specifically concerning the shifting of forms between man and beast.

1) does this occur at will? or does it have a trigger such as when under stress?

2) In Lycan form (or whichever term you'd prefer), are they able to keep this form indefinitely? or do they have a limited amount of time?

3) Lycanthropes being commonly depicted as being instinctual, would the ones in this RP have some sort of urge for blood lust (similar to how one would occasionally get hungry)?

Lastly, not a question but a comment, I've not yet done a PvP/Arena RP yet so I may be somewhat slow to posting as I read other's post to gauge how I should structure mine.

Anyways, This would be a good opportunity for me to finish up on a CS based somewhat off of the Hound of Ulster
After some time, Traveler came upon a group of three guards in a conversation. Traveler could not determine what they were saying but it likely concerned the pirates attacking. Still in the ventilation, he took position just above on of them for an ambush.

“…I’m not too worried. All we have to do is wait for a bit, the captain has a plan.”

“Well, when I saw a ship that appears to have come from the 18th century fly towards us; I figured they were either so dumb that they have unpredictability on their side, or were skilled enough to have the luxury of looking like that. Can’t say I like either… What the h…”

One guard said as he noticed a viscous black liquid dripped on him. Just a drop at first, but it slowly grew to encompass more and more. He only had time to look up, seeking a source, before he was completely covered, crashing to the ground from the sheer force of it and unfortunately being too heavy for him to get up. “Shit, I can’t get up. What is this stuff?” the guard said as another reached in to help him out, a big mistake. While he was able to reach through and grab his comrade, he found himself in the same situation. Arms deep and with no conceivable way out, his expression slowly turned to fear. ” I…I can’t get out either! What the fuck is going on?”.

The third guard wisely chose to stay away but was frozen in place from fear. Two targets acquired. One left. Traveler thought, realizing it needed a more direct approach for the third. Forming a tendril out of it’s form, it lashed out at the third’s feet tripping him and knocking him unconscious. The second guard, in a attempt to free himself, used his free arm to fire into the black mass. A futile effort as the kinetic rounds only served to spray the black goo around before it rejoined into the main mass.

Traveler formed another tendril to knock the weapon out of his hands, and grabbing the third, oozed it’s way towards a door in the hallway. After using the wall panel to open the room, it slid inside closing the door behind and attempted to interrogate the two still conscious guards. Unfortunately a few frightened whimpers and screams were the only response. Giving up, Traveler broke off a portion of his form to stay behind and guard the prisoners and traveled through the door, breaking the panels to ensure entry/exit would be difficult before issuing a simple command. ”Stay or die." Traveler said with words so venomous it was clear it wanted to kill them but it was ordered not to. Besides it had something else to do and it could always come back later. After ensuring they were unarmed, Traveler left to continue searching for the captain.
About to put up my post.
Got my things taken care of so I will be posting more frequently now. Sorry again about the delay.

And just a thought, what if we gave everyone a specific day of the week/date to post so that there will be more regular IC? WE could still do small posts (such as replies in a conversation) whenever but we would have a major post once a week (or however long one needs) and if we spread out who does what when, then we could have a big post every day or so.
I'll get another post in soon. sorry for being late on it, but some stuff came up unexpectedly that sucked up a lot of my time.
Traveler observed as the reptilian organism pacified the two unfortunate guards, noting that his movements were with the speed and skill of a veteran. Clearly someone it would not want to draw the ire of.

Traveler followed suit with everyone else onto the merchant vessel before the doors closed behind them. This may make it difficult to return... unless taking this ship is part of the plan Traveler thought while splitting into the smaller groups. It's orders, to pillage and pacify the crew. looking in one direction, it saw ventilation covers toward the ceiling, but not too high up to reach.

"This cell will move through vents and look for the captain, pacifying targets along the way." Traveler said as its form stretched and distorted, eventually losing all resemblance to that of a human. Choosing the guise of its 'in-between' form, resembling a black slime with no discernible features, Travler oozed through the small slits of the vent, losing its senses as they were absorbed into its form. Instead, it had to rely by feeling the environment and the subtle vibrations of movement to construct a map of the area. To its left, a constant low vibration suggesting a fan in the distance. To its right, intermittent loud vibrations suggesting a conversation from what it presumes to be a group of merchants. Prey. Should try to avoid killing. One dead won't hurt... for sustenance... Traveler thought before moving towards the source.
I'm kind of interested, but I got a few questions before I can commit.

One of the tags is anime/manga, I'm wandering how much it is inspired by anime (I've never been a fan of anime in general save for a few)

and secondly, I am confused to what 'Physiological Lovecraftian Horror' entails exactly.

Flavor text seems pretty interesting, and Lovecraft (and expansive works of other authors such as August Derleth) is one of my favorite authors so it all looks good to me. Just want those questions answered to see if this is something I'm willing to commit to.
I'm not sure you understand interest checks. It seems to me you are posting a thread for themes you would be interested in doing, when this section is used for a GM (game master/person seeking to create a RP) to determine who would be interested in doing a RP with criteria outlined in an interest check.

If you're not trying to start an RP, I found a recent interest check that might catch your eye. The Trainquil Children though it is post-apocolyptic.

Otherwise, browse General Interest Check or Casual Interest Check and hopefully you might find something that catches your eye. Sometimes you might be able to join an RP that has already started, but be sure to post in the OOC (out of character) section andnot the IC/CS (in character/character sheet) section which are located to the top left of the original poster.

Any questions, feel free to PM me.

Traveler noted the conversation and felt it necessary to announce his intent, and to note that they might see some... unusual things.

"This cell notes that orders were to loot and 'if possible' capture the crew of the merchant ship. If possible is a modifier of the command and is not a priority. This cell does recognize that capture of their captain would be a notable accomplishment. This cell will attempt to pacify combatants without killing but will use force should resistance prove it preferential. This cell notes that it is shapeless and can change form much as one can change clothes, a tactical advantage as any opening is an entrance provided it is not water-tight. With that in mind, this cell will travel through the ventilation seeking priority targets."

Traveler did intend to incapacitate, but it felt it necessary to kill and absorb a combatant away from the others. It was concerned the others might act negatively despite it being required for sustenance. While looking for priority targets was not a lie, it was not the main reason behind his intent to separate.
I preemptively declare ownership of the 250th post.
The captain seemed odd to Traveler. His outfit seemed out of place relative to what the other humans tend to wear in the area. He appeared too small to garner any respect from normal pirates. And to top it off, an unusual fascination with what appeared to be a straw.

The first question, what was Traveler here for? Traveler was silent for a moment, using the vocals of this shell was something it did not do often. ”I do not seek material wealth. I do not seek infamy. Neither interests me. Instead all I need is sustenance from other lifeforms to nourish me and comradery.”

When Arron used his ‘lie detector’ on Traveler, it felt an unusual sensation. Arron was interfering with its very being, nearly disrupting its disguise (never mind the feeling that Arron was probably seeing past it with whatever he was doing). In addition, it detected genetic material it never felt before. While it partially comprised of Human material, the rest was completely foreign to it. While the contact was too brief to extract much information, it was enough to indicate alteration of unknown extent.

Second question, what is its name? It never had a name, nor were any Q’lyar given names, only designations. Is this something to tell Arron? Should it make something up? After a few more silent moments, It decided to partially reveal itself, Arron might have figured it out already anyhow. ”I have no name. As you may have formulated, I am not Human like I appear. This is just a shell that I use to disguise my nature. In truth, I am Q’lyar. The race with no form, for they do not need them. Instead, they adopt forms. Neither do they have names. You can refer to me… this cell, by its designation Traveler-59, or just Traveler"

Arron did not seem to be surprised at the revelation, though admittedly, Traveler has little experience with inferring meaning from facial expressions. When it got to the part where it was with the other recruits, it took the opportunity to look at the others. Most of the races were unknown to it, but several (especially the other Humans) were familiar. Most were wholly organic (or at least, mostly) but some had exterior carapace, likely the front-liners.

And now the point came where Traveler, or Snake as the captain calls it, would feel combat again. It hopes it would have the opportunity to consume a combatant for sustenance, one missing is unlikely to be noticed (especially after a fight).
