Planet Name and Description:
The planet of Hinov, located in the Vamia system is a planet that is, with exception of the shape of its landmasses and oceans, nearly identical to Earth. It is the only habitable planet in the Vamia system and the vast majority of the Vamian population is therefore concentrated there. It has three moons, all of which are lifeless rocks, though they provide a useful area for industry as well as a staging ground for operations further in the system.
The wider Vamia system has been extensively settled by the Federation, though the population density is much lower than that of Hinov itself. Infrastructure and small colonies have been built all the way to the Gateway at the edge of the system, providing the Federation with a rich source of materials and industry.

Governance and Politics:
On the surface, the government of the Federation resembles that of many pre-Fall Earth governments. A bicameral legislature, consisting of a Federal Assembly (directly voted for by the Vamian population) and a Federal Council (voted for on a state basis) make the laws, while a President that is directly elected by the people leads the executive branch.
The reality, however, is very different. In the Vamian Federation, the real power lies not with the bodies of government or the voters themselves, but instead a small group of unelected officials exercise power behind the scenes. Named the Big Seven, or alternatively the Shadow Council by those who implement their directives, it is these people that really determine what happens in the Federation. A handful of intelligence agencies, paramilitary organizations, front organizations and secret societies, referred to as the ‘Deep State’ or ‘Shadow Government’ do the actual legwork. Actions taken to exercise the will of the Big Seven include the manipulation of the media and internet, political assassination, the abduction and memory-wiping of those who know too much, replacing of public figures with robots and clones, and many more to ensure the stability and prosperity of the Federation.
