Is anyone else having trouble with the site, or is it just me?

-snip-

This looks good. Accepted!

As an aside, you mentioned Vrelan fighting against other provinces. Is this something that happens a lot?

Would this be someone the Queen already knows? The parent of a school friend perhaps, or a former tutor?

That would be a pretty good hook, yeah.
Hey just FYI I'm withdrawing interest. This looks like a great RP, I just realistically dont have the time. Have fun all!

No problem, thanks for letting me know.

What do you think of a foreign ambassador of the queenly lass's former nation- presumably some fairly prosperous, if small, nation that focuses a bit more on academics and the like, more so than the rest of the world, considering she was sent there instead of anywhere else- trying to get in on the fact that she's more like them, rather than of her home country, and trying to get a share, a piece, of that fancy prosperous pie that is the empire overseas?

That is to say- another guy making a bid of being from the land the new queen had spent more of her time in?

I think that would be alright. You wouldn't actually be an official part of the Council, but you might be able to shoehorn your way in.
Gonna try and throw my name into this mix.

Oh, shoot. I'm sorry, I forgot to update the thread to 'Full.' I'm not taking any new people right now, but I can let you know if someone drops out, if you'd like.
I was curious. Also, I plan on making my character rather eccentric, so knowing what she looks like would be helpful when deciding whether my character's 1st words to the queen should be "Hi, I'm Manfred" or "Sweet Naram-Sadai! You're adorable!...Also hi, I'm Manfred".

Gotcha. I'll try to write up some stuff for Queen Gisela, Chancellor Vulmar, and some other important court personalities before the IC business starts.
I just updated the OP to include a little background information on the capital and the palace itself, for the interested.

No problem! I’m getting into some 1x1s anyway, so my feelings aren’t hurt. Good luck!

Thanks, you too.

Out of curiosity, what does the queen look like?

Believe it or not, I haven't given it much thought. She's thirteen, so I'd say she's about five feet tall, give or take a few inches. Auburn, shoulder length hair. Brown eyes, fair skin. Why do you ask?

Was thinking about haveing him be the son of a chiefton whos clan swore a blood oath to the king and to protect the crown for a promise of trade or peace maybe

You know what, I think that might work. Help defending the eastern border couldn't be a bad thing for the Crown, especially if it came with access to certain trade goods.

No room for an apprentice priest & tutor to the young queen, then?

I'd love to let you in, but there's honestly been a little more interest in this than I was expecting. I can definitely let you know if somebody drops out, though, if you'd like.
I'm only committed to this and my own thread. I'm still in.
@Major Sharpe

Had an idea about haveing the character be a shaman from the forest mountains tribe area. Location known for very good warriors/mercenary and jewles/rare metals.

Hmm. The idea, really, is for players to represent one of the great provincial houses at Court. In an eastern region bordering the Gallathine mountains, I suppose it would be possible for a barbarian shaman (Viexmeurites would almost certainly consider such a person barbarous) to be in the employ of a Provincial Lord. Don't expect a warm welcome at Court if that's what you go with, though. Sending a shaman of Aborim would probably be considered an insult on the part of your Liege Lord/Lady to the Crown.

It could be interesting, though, to be sure. I'm not opposed to disrespecting the Crown.
I was thinking of making a province known for its production of golems.

That sounds good, go for it. Just remember that magic is semi-rare in this world, so your province would pretty much have to be a center of arcane learning to have enough mages to produce lots of magical constructs.

I will be making a CS as soon as I get home.

Wonderful. Take your time, of course.

This seems really interesting! Are you still accepting people to participate in this?

Sure, you can join. I think that's enough interested people for now, though.
