Weirdest place I've ever fought* was a place called the Bangkok Ladyman Megabrothel and Expo.

...really, the name says everything anyone could ever want to know.
Greetings from the Luchalliance.

It has come to our attention that there is some confusion, some wonder, possibly even some outright worry, concerning our intent in the upcoming TZDL Tournament. I am here to lay this confusion to rest, to alleviate this wonder, and to allay this worry.

Our intent is simple: we intend to provide only the finest and highest-quality beatings the world has ever known, and we're willing to stand by our world-class thrashings.

Luchalliance senior competitor Tezcatlipoca has offered to demonstrate the quality and craftsmanship of Luchalliance drubbings in an exhibition match held prior to* the Duel League tournament, demonstrating our good faith, our Code of Glorious Conduct, and our ability in the ring all three. Any competitor who wishes to experience first-hand the care and passion that goes into a top-quality face-breaking may step into the ring in a bout against Rey de la Oscuridad II, the Fifth Apocalypse of the Luchalliance.

Nor are we stingy in our offerings! Nay - the Luchalliance is a generous organization which is willing to demonstrate the fine workmanship of our signature brand of torture to any number of competitors who wish to sample our wares. Lobo Negro de las Cinco Llamas, our Rudo Hunter, has offered to stand by El Rey's side should RPGuild's Arena competitors decide they wish to assemble a right and proper bruise party.

Come, friends! Allow the Luchalliance to offer you a show unlike any you've ever seen - and send you back to your home in contentment, wisdom, and quite possibly a body cast.

How's about we avoid shit talk altogether if we could, Moe? It's not terribly reassuring when a large event's chief administrator indulges in heavy mudslinging against a subset of that event's participants. Some good-natured smack is assumed and even enjoyable for any combat tournament - we're all of us egos and we like to swagga, some amount of Billy Bigdicking is expected whenever you get more'n a couple of us in one place - but the event administrator for a large tournament like this should strive to put forth a more friendly and approachable front, if possible.

I've seen the logs of the conversation in question here, and they weren't terribly friendly or approachable. Misunderstandings happen, but it's still nice to try and minimize them or smooth them over. Neither Everett nor Doc are sour with the other over the fight in question, and really - is it anyone else's business, in the end?

Let's try and keep it classy here, folks. Clean masks for everybody - nobody likes a dirty wrestler.
All fights, no matter the power tier, no matter the format or venue, ranked or unranked, tournament or funsies, go the same way. Nine out of ten fights are total moose piss that make you wonder why you still waste your life on this damn game. That tenth fight is the perfect-storm-of-awesome reminder you need to keep going at it.

Frustration makes many a player do many a silly thing. We've all been there. Don't sweat it too hard, Ev. Just remember to keep your mask on and suplex harder in the future.
@golathf If I must. I merely wish to ask that those who are actively and explicitly not participating in the tournament not heckle those who are based solely on their disapproval of the clearly stated and advertised power tier of the characters in question.

Everyone submitting a sheet here knows exactly what they're getting into and likes it that way, or they wouldn't be here. Why give 'em grief for it?

The characters posted thus far, as I said, I'm interested to see if the host addresses the power levels I'm seeing here and how.

That being said, the rules could probably use tightening if people are entering such a wide range of different scaled characters, but not everyone can come up with air-tight power guides from the outset. Things usually have to be tweaked as they go.

The usual method is to come down hard on people who're abusive in the early rounds, as any judging system tends to. A good powered combatant scales as appropriate to their foe, and such is the plan here for the majority of players I'm in communication with. If the bout is enjoyable to both parties, what matters if the scale is exactly equal? What does exact equality even mean in a fluid and subjective game like this one, hm?
@MelonHead Are you basing that opinion on the rules or just the characters posted up thus far? Just out of curiosity.

RPGuild as a general thing tends towards low-powered or null-powered combat, especially in competitive matches. Empowered tournament events like this seem to be a rarity, at least in my experience.

'Course, the option for those who dislike powered combat is to skip this particular event. Meanwhile, those people who do enjoy a good powered bout can have some fun here, ne?
I can't commit to an exact, specific, 100% written-in-blood guaranteed hour I can post for the tournament. I know Enki does not have physical access to his work hours prior to a week beforehand - I don't believe his workplace even makes up schedules before them. Flex hours are a thing, and I work in a customer-facing job with unpredictable stretches of Good Post Time and No Post Time. I'll get timezones and rough hours up, but I'm not going to accept defaults and penalties for missing a post window I ballparked a month before the fight by ten minutes.

Nevertheless, thanks for clarification on teleportation.
Availability: U.S. Central timezone, -6:00.

Exact Hours: Unpredictable throughout any given week. My job has some leeway for posting during work hours, but that leeway waxes and wanes based on customer traffic. Work hours are between 10:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. Typical best typin' hours are the early afternoon stretch of my day. After 5:00 P.M. customer traffic tends to be too heavy for posting, and home hours are not great for focus either. Expect a general timeframe between 10:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. on most days, with exceptions as workflow dictates.

Clarification requested on teleportation restrictions: 'range of 20' what? Twenty feet? Twenty meters? Twenty parsecs? 'Teleport to another dimension' is vague as well - is this the act of relocating into another dimension and remaining there for an indefinite length of time, or will any teleportation whose mechanics include interdimensional or interplanar travel, even if the teleport is quick and does not remain in said dimension, constitute a loss?

A number of Luchalliance characters utilize variants of teleportation as a tactical tool; the restrictions are especially egregious to psionics. Would teleportation without intent to abuse interrupt rulings be more permissible? The players I know utilize teleportation the same way I do - as a tactical maneuvering tool, not as an auto-dodge defense-against-everything bullshit mechanic or a means of canceling any enemy strike they please.

Luchalliance profiles are in final revision and clean-up stage, with the exception of this teleportation question. Please clarify quickly, the restrictions as stated may require a character switch on the part of particular players.
