Sleep was invented by the communists to reduce the time we spend active.

That awkward moment when you glimpse a dog stylist advertisement and before you realize what it is, you assume it's an ad to raise awareness about animal cruelty.

A friend introduced me to a site called nanowrimo.org Technically a novel-writing site but they seem to have useful stuff for writing in general in the forums.

Stop spreading false facts. Chaegonian scum.

Chaegonian scum? Bah! I am Fascist Ireland's only hope of survival!
<Snipped quote by Mardox>

xD She told me she was in highschool! It's not my fault @Lauder can't keep her mouth shut about personal details

Well at least you aren't a good enough stalker to realize LAUDER IS MALE.

<Snipped quote by Mardox>

Assuming they meet on land and not in space? Probably by vanishing via their camouflaging technology and trying to evade them before reevaluating their approach with these creatures.

If the Namilee were able to get the "jump," so to speak, they'd probably appear out of nowhere and make their presence known before trying to demonstrate through gesture they have no harmful intentions. They'd probably try to react in a reciprocal manner to the aliens, assuming the aliens weren't displaying clearly hostile behavior. Again: hostile behavior would probably prompt their retreat.

You might want to make sure the camouflaging tech masks scent as well since the Mabronnans have noses to rival bloodhounds.

The Mabronnans would certainly be startled by a sudden appearance. However, it would increase their curiosity greatly and lower the predatory instincts. It is highly unlikely the Mabronnans would be immediately hostile unless somehow angered.
@Hael So, communication therefore must either be standardized within empires or else individuals must learn numerous languages, aye?

So how would the Namilee react to large bipedal reptiles with a clear carnivorous nature circling them in a non-hostile manner and sniffing?

*knows you are in highschool*

*is out of highschool*

*is probably older than you*

Are you stalking Lauder? C'mon Haelamera, don't be that kind of person...
I also volunteer

And I encourage you all to take in consideration Eliz's idea of mandatory crossbow training for everyone.

Ardghal approves.

I so happen to have universal translators

It makes sense for my Empire since I have to communicate with the slaves on a day-to-day basis and some of them may not have the ability to speak like a X'Cor

Hmmmm. Rather ironic. The X'Cor have the capability to speak with the Mabronnans but are massive racists and probably won't show respect.

Also, @Shorticus the Mabronnans curiosity would be piqued by the advanced materials the Namilee possess and their complete lack of weaponry. Hope the Namilee won't panic as large reptile aliens get a little too close and start sniffing.
<Snipped quote by Mardox>

Noted, but the Namilee won't know about that at first. They won't understand they're expected to present a gift, and they'll have to breach the communication barriers between themselves and your species.

True, the respect part might have to suffice first. The Mabronnans would be understanding of a cultural difference regarding the symbolic gift. Communication barriers would be tricky though. Unless Haelamera is giving us all a common language, then we have to find a way to make the Mabronnans' first impression of the Namilee is not just "They smell delicious."
<Snipped quote by Mardox>

The Namilee have two basic methods of dealing with aliens:

1. Make friendly with them. Try to establish transmissions; try to learn about them and figure out what their situation is; try to be peaceful.

2. Avoid them. Aliens can be dangerous.

Perfect, the Mabronnans react well to simply being approached respectfully and presented with a gift as a sign of goodwill. The gift need not be much and can even be a token gesture as it is symbolic.
The big aliens that have the toothy grin and are all muscular.

... Yes. Just add some scales.
Are the Mabronnans the big and mean of this TV show?

Big and mean? They can be quite friendly if approached properly.
