When Joshua pulled Alix to her feet, she melted just the tiniest bit. The music was back from when they'd first started dating, and it filled her with the warmth of nostalgia. Time just seemed to pass so quickly. Here they were, ten years and two children later. It felt as though a decade had passed within the blink of an eye.

And with a cheerful smile, Alix reached out and gently gave Joshua's cheek a gentle squeeze. The same way that a Grandmother might, but with an equally playful wink, she released him. It was no secret that she wished her husband was home more. The kids were a handful, throw in work, and wham. But that wasn't what she was willing to think about at that moment in time. Instead, she settled her hands on his chest and nodded.

Alix had grow up in a working class English family from the South West of England. The youngest of four, she had fond memories of big family life. Unfortunately, her Father left when she was very young, but Andrew - her Step Father stepped up and treated them all as his own from day one. Because of that, Alix was very close to him.

"Of course you may have this dance." Her own accent embelished with a posh twang that she didn't own, "Just try not to squash my toes."
"I haven't even finished my wine."

Alix peered into the glass as though it might bite her. Many a terrible University hangover had been caused by Vodka. It wasn't her friend. She didn't like it, and it certainly didn't like her. Josh really was pulling out all of the stops.

" You know, if you need to resort to heavy liquor, we can just decide not to have a third baby."

An amused laugh escaped the blonde as she stood up. She could hear her work phone blaring out angrily in the study. With a small sigh, she clicked her tongue against the inside of her cheek. What did he want now? Her green eyes flicked to the clock. Too late. He should have called earlier. It just takes the piss.. No doubt he'll send a passive agressive email instead. Oh well.. What the hell. And with that, she necked the vodka.

"I hate that stuff.."

She sucked her cheeks in and shook her head.

"Disgusting.."
Alix blinked in mild disbelief. Wait. Did he just totally sideline the puppy direction, and go straight for the baby? Gosh. Maybe he hit his head at work or something. Would explain why he looked so rough. Laying out cold for a few days would do that to you.

"Did you really just vote in favour of another baby, over a puppy?"

The blonde stared at her husband incredulously. That really wasn't the direction she'd expected it to go. Would it work? He went away so much, and her own job wasn't easy. They were piling more and more crap on her, and her boss Steve was just an arsehole. How would she cope with Sophie, Luca and baby? But hormones were a devious thing. Negative anxiety was replaced with cutesy newborn images of Sophie and Luca. All pink and new. The smell. The little gurgles and snuffles.

Adorable

With a wistful sigh, Alix settled her head against Joshua's shoulder. "I say baby gets my vote after all.." Hell, it wasn't like they didn't have the room.
"Watch me?" A blonde eyebrow perked in curiosity, "I'm just going to sit here and drink my wine." There wasn't anything on the television - so Alix let herself relax against the cushions of the couch with a small yawn. With Joshua back, she felt alot less like she had to be on high alert all of the time. It wasn't much fun being on your own in a massive house. So many weird noises to over analyse. It was exhausting.

"What's my order? Hormones tell me I want more, my body screams no at the top of it's lungs. So, I figure.. " There was a momentary pause for dramatic affect, "That we should get a puppy, and then we'll all be happy." Who didn't love dogs? Cute little noses and waggy tails. Adorable.

The blonde shot Josh a pointed look, before she pulled up her knees to get a bit more comfortable. "I wish you didn't have to go away so much. I miss you when you aren't here."
Bump!
"That bad, huh?"

Josh certainly seemed to have had a rough time. Alix studied his face for just a moment or two. He was normally clean shaven, but he definitely had a few days worth of growth there.. Not that she minded, actually. In a way, she'd always rather digged the slightly rugged look. He seemed tired, and well - low, she supposed. Just a little grey. But he rarely opened up about work. Not ever, so she didn't press it. No, she'd let the rain cloud pass of it's own free will.

Josh had been Alix's first proper boyfriend. Sure there was Tom. The guy that she'd actually been dating when she'd taken on Joshua as a tutor, but that hadn't been anything serious. As soon as they'd met, Alix had just fallen for him, hook line and sinker. Truthfully, that hadn't changed at all over time. Sure he drove her nuts, and they argued - who didn't? But, she just couldn't see her life without him.

That's when he mentioned 'Sconegate', and that got a laugh out of her.

"She worked so hard on those..."

Alix chuckled, before taking a sip from the oversized glass in her hand. The blonde smirked at the mention of heavier stuff, and slipped herself down from the fancy white marble worktop, but not before planting a sweet kiss to Josh's cheek first.

"Luca asked when it was his turn to be a big brother, by the way.. And Sophie's put in an order for twins."

And with a deliberately dorky waggle of the eyebrows, she headed into the lounge in search of the couch.

"What do you want to watch?"

Thirty minutes later and Alix re-emerged from the jungle that was Luca's room. Sophie was pretty easy, once you moved past the negotiation phase. Luca however, was a whole different ball game. He brought out the whole show. Tears, requests for glasses of water. Monsters inabiting the shadows.. You name it, and he'd give it a whirl. But finally, after two stories and a ceremonial tour to check for all things scary, he was settled.

By this point, Alix had pulled her rather raucous curls up into ponytail. "I don't know how people cope with more then two." She yawned wearily. When Josh was away, it was pretty exhausting having to do pretty much everything and still attempt to get a decent level of work churned out. Still she couldn't grumble. Well she could, but she wouldn't.

The blonde plodded into the kitchen and opened the fridge, looking for some sort of chocolately inspiration. "Ooooh, you'll do." She pulled out a bar and sat up on the counter top.

"What take out are we going to get?"
