Current "Doing your best" does not mean working yourself to the point of a mental breakdown. Its no longer your best at that point.

The word homeowner has the word "meow" in it. Good luck pronouncing it correctly ever again. You're welcome ^.^

the bad thing about being bullied is that every time it happens it steals a little piece of who you are if it happens enough little by little you become a little less of who you were meant to be.

Pierre

Location: The Obstacle Tower; Camp Half-Blood.
Interacting With: No one in particular

Pierre continued up the course, feeling like he was making great time, but already recognising that he wasn’t going to win. Ky’ vie had already taken the lead, but Pierre was still going to try. He didn’t even know why he was doing this. Pierre usually prefered to stay behind the scenes, yet at times, he felt overlocked. He had spent a majority of his summers in camp, staying with Syleste, so she wouldn’t be by herself in the cabin, and so he could make sure she was okay. That had been his job since they were kids, and he wasn’t quite sure who he was without it. As the days went back, turning into weeks and months, and years, it became quite clear that Syleste didn’t need his protect, or at least not as much as she use to.

He didn’t know where he belonged anymore, not truly.

Maybe this was the first step in finding out just where he did belong, and who he was. And maybe he was just overthinking this. He always was over analytical. Turning his mind back to what he was doing, Pierre didn’t stop to look and see how the other contestants were going, instead he merely continued on his way, seeking to do his best. And if his best got him to the top, then so bit it. Winning didn’t really matter. Taking a moment to ensure that his hands weren’t sweaty, and therefore slippery, Pierre began to tackle the climbing wall.

There really was no way to predict when the hand holds would be moved, but if you listened, if you noticed the slight movement before it happened, you could avoid falling. Pierre used his long reach to scale the wall quickly, often moving side ways, and once or twice down as hand and foot holds were yanked away. He kept calm, processing everything around him as he moved.

As he climbed, he continued to think about why he was doing this. It wasn’t a quest, it wasn’t even a challenge… was it just to prove that he could do it, or was it something else? He did know. What did winning this even get you? The course was, while designed for skilled, about luck. You could do everything right, and then the tower would give you something that changed everything. Maybe that was the point. To keep him on his toes, and keep him thinking, keep him ready for anything.

His thoughts were broken as a hand held slipped through his fingers, and for a moment Pierre hung by one hand. He swung his body up, getting foot holds, and managed to get his other hand onto another hold, and he rested for a second, catching his breath back.

He began to climb again, and his thoughts traveled back to where they had been. Sometimes The ADHD that plagued Pierre, and indeed most of the other campers, was a blessing. It enabled him to think, and do what he was doing, managing to keep focused even as his mind wandered. He knew that the ADHD was designed to keep them alive in battle-to enable them to focus on many things at once, and to avoid getting skewered like a stuck pig.

So. Why was he doing this, what did he have to prove? Perhaps he was simply trying to...be seen. Yet why did he want to be seen? He managed to remove his left foot in time before the foothold was yanked away, and hurriedly scrambled to the side, and then back up again. He sighed to himself, and focused on the tower.

Before he realised what was happening, he realised that he was having fun. How often did that happen? Perhaps it was important to do something else, besides reading… And that was something that Pierre never thought that he would think that. Smiling to himself, he continued to climb. He looked up, knowing he was close to the top of the tower. Or rather hoping that he was.
Niesha

Location Building one: medical

As Chloe tried to comfort Niesha, her words did nothing. Niesha could recognise that holding Miss Sally’s hand wasn’t for Miss Sally, but for herself. Taking comfort, rather than giving it, but… there was also something simply human about it. In the last few years, they’d lost so much that had defined them as human beings… and maybe it was time to take that back. No one deserved to go through this, without someone holding their hands. Stabbing the brain, killing the brain… it was something that had to be done, but they could still be human about it. They might never beat the Walker virus, but… they could reclaim what they had lost. So she looked up to Chloe, and said softly, ”I know... “. Chloe’s words may not have done anything to comfort her, yet Niesha knew that she was trying. And that was all that mattered.

She wanted to be brave, to be strong, but as Victor leaned in, to do what had to be done, she closed her eyes tight and looked away. When it was all done and dusted, Niesha finally let go of Miss Sally’s hand, ”Goodbye” she said softly, looking to Miss Sally’s body, and wishing they could have done more… wishing they could have saved her. She was so tired of losing people. She barely listened as Victor began to speak, knowing she wouldn’t be leaving Medical anytime soon. She didn’t want to step outside, not at the moment. But as Froggy addressed her, Niesha turned to him, listening as he spoke.

His words shocked her. His second? She didn’t know what to say. Eventually, she gave a nod, turning back to Miss Sally, not wanting to leave her alone, even if it was just her body, and nothing else. As Victor left to do what needed to be done, Niesha looked to Chloe and Ravi, silent for a moment or two. ”I… I’m going to stay here” she said softly, mechanically taking off her gloves, and throwing them away, knowing he was probably a mess, but not particularly caring. She carefully checked the defibrillator was turned off, before moving it out of the way, and retrieving the resus bag, setting it aside. Then she just stood there, unsure.
Isaura and Theodore

Location: The Lighthouse; Atlantic Ocean.
Interacting With: Nadia Reyes (@Vicier), and Rhett Beckett (@YoshiSkittlez)..

Theodore didn’t know what options they had left. The response he’d gotten did nothing to assure him that it was Juliette, but… if he stayed in the water much longer, Isuara was going to be seriously compromised, more so then she already was. He didn’t, right then, care for himself. He just had to have hope that it was Juliette, because he couldn’t choose between saving Isuara, or saving Juliette. Feeling like he was ripping his heart from his chest, Theodore looked about, for any sign of land, looking to isuara to make sure she was still awake ”Isuara” he said softly, wishing things were different, wishing that they'd gotten on any other flight, wishing he could just make sure that they, that Juliette and Isuara, were safe.

Looking about them once more, he was sure he saw something…. A building? Or was that just his imagination, him hoping that it was land, like a mirage? Did he want to risk Isuara’s life, on that? What choice did he have? There wasn’t exactly many options, but he really only had one shot, he didn’t think that he could go much further. If it was just his imagination… he’d effectively kill them both.

Even the thought of being responsible for Isuara’s death chilled him to his very core, and he tried not to think that he may already be responsible for Juliette's death. ”Do you see that building, too?” he asked Isuara, wanting confirmation before he wasted energy trying to swim there.

Opening her eyes, Isaura tilted her head lightly to the side, lifting it only slightly so that she was able to look in the direction that they seemed to be headed. Building..? What would a building be doing in the middle of the Atlantic ocean..?

“..b-building..?”

Her body shaking constantly due to the freezing temperatures of the water reaching into her core, she squinted her eyes, her now blue lips parting ever so slightly as she continued to gaze in the direction he seemed to be focused on, a large dark mass emerging through the smoke catching her eyes causing to try and tighten her arms around him further than they already were, “..y-yeah… I-... I think I d-do…”

Taking that as confirmation, even though it was strange to think of a random building. There wasn’t anything else to indicate land, but what choice did they have? “Alright then. We’ll head there” he said, taking a breath and beginning to swim, it was perhaps the hardest thing he’d had to do, push his battered, tired body through the freezing cold water. Stopping or faltering was not an option, and he continued to swim towards the building, ”Just stay awake, okay Isuara? That’s all you have to do”

He tried to judge how far the tower was, but it seemed like an impossible task. ”Nearly there” he said, not knowing if that was true at all, but wanting to keep her awake.

Stay awake… yeah… yeah, she could do that… she could-...

Her eyes drooping slightly, Isaura once more let her head come to a rest over his back, a soft mumble of understanding falling from between her lips as she felt herself slipping into the sleep both of them knew she needed to stay out of. The situation was bad enough as it was; if she went to sleep now-... well, there was that possibility that she wasn’t going to be waking up anytime soon…

Theodore looked to isuara, wanting to make sure she was okay, seeing that she was falling asleep, and not knowing what to do. He slowed, as he tried to think of something to do., before making sure she was close against him, as he tried to think of ways of getting her warm, if only somewhat. Just until they got out the water.

He stopped, treading water a moment, trying to figure out a way of getting her out of the water, at least better than what she was. ”I’m going to try and get you out the water a bit’ he said, hoping the sound of his voice would give her something to focus on, bring her back from the edge of sleep. He tried to figure out how he could get her on his back, ’Do you think you can get on my back?” he asked softly, hugging her close.

His voice… it sounded so close. She had to focus; she had to-... she had to open her eyes, if even a little bit. Her head turning slightly, she forced her eyes to open just that little bit more than they already were, her tired gaze resting upon the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with… no matter how short a time that might be.

“..I-I’m so c-cold…”

”I know, Izzy, I know. That’s why i want you to get on my back, okay? Get you outta the water a bit” he said, ”Please, I don’t want to lose you, izzy. You’ll be out of the water more on my back” he said, trying to keep his own fear from his voice, giving her a quick soft kiss, wishing that it was more, but knowing that was possible, right then. ”Then it’s not far… “

“..I-I’ll try…” Forcing herself to move, she shakily brought her hands back to press weakly into his shoulders, doing what she could to move herself further up his back.

Theodore did what he could to help get her on his back, and once she was settled again, he started to swim once more, wondering if he had actually made any progress to getting to the building, he couldn’t quite remember how far they had been. Which he recognised as a dangerous sign. He grimaced, continuing to swim. They had to make it. They’d find Juliette, and survive.

He continued his diligent, if dead-tired swim, his entire mind focused on that task, on the task of getting to land, and finding Juliette. Nothing else seemed to matter, right then. ”Is it better, Izzy?”

“..a-a little b-bit…”

Her body still shaking against his, she shook her head lightly from side to side, doing her best to shake the fatigue from her body as she turned her attention up to the large towering structure of the lighthouse drawing closer with each moment that passed them both by.

A bit was good. A bit could mean the difference between life, and death in these waters. He tried not to think how Juliette was faring, She was so small… looking ahead as the lighthouse drew closer and closer, but still seemed so far away. He blinked, reaching up to brush water out his eyes, frowning when he realised that there was something just ahead of them. Someone else swimming? But it seemed more than that… Where they trying to tow more than just themselves? The silhouette was rather strange…. But he supposed his was too, with Isuara on his back.

Whatever they were doing, it seemed they were struggling, and Theodore found himself making his way towards them- they were along the way, closer to the lighthouse than Isuara and himself. As he drew closer, he saw that the woman- for it was a woman- was struggling with a dog, and a man. How did she get the dog out? For surely the dog had been secured? Shaking his head as his thoughts went off on tangents, Theodore found himself calling out ”You need a hand?’ He knew he should think about Isura, getting her out of the water, of getting himself out the water.

But the woman was trying to save a damn dog, what was he meant to do? Try to save the damn dog as well.
Callie Lenson

Location: Secluded area, Callie’s training area→ in front of Leo and Magnus
Interacting with Leo (@December), Magnus (@BlackPanther)

Beginning to show Alexis some of the more basic defensive maneuvers, and one or two offensive ones, Callie was well pleased with her progress, and found herself rather enjoying the chance at teaching someone so brand new to the world of magic. With Leo, it had been different. This… this was what Callie loved best. The raw basics of magic. Suddenly, Callie spun about, her senses alert, and shoving Alexis behind her, a sound escaping her throat, a rather vicious sound, a spell on her lips, the flash of black and white her only indication that there was something stalking them.

”Stay behind me” She said to Alexis, her tone one that was not to be denied, as she began to weave a spell, throwing it towards the wolf as it came towards them, the spell missing by a hair. The wolf would have been handsome, if Callie didn’t know what was behind that fur. A white face, with a black framing of fur, the wolf was a lovely combination of light and dark, and if it had been any other wolf, Callie might have let it go. Yet she suspected that this wolf was the one responsible for the attacks, and Callie wasn’t going to let it stand.

”and run if you have to. I mean it Alexis, this is not your fight” She said, slinging another spell towards the wolf, cursing as it didn’t land like she wanted to. She cursed her again, knowing that there was a ley line close by, and she could travel through them, but knowing it may as well be miles away for all the good it would do. She spun, shoving Alexis behind her once more, dodging the wolf.

She cursed again, ”Get to the car!” she shouted to Alexis, beginning to fling spells as fast as she could, giving Alexis coverfire to retreat, knowing she might very well be giving her life for Alexis’s, but not caring about that. She would always give her life for those that couldn’t protect themselves. Alexis was not ready, not ready by far.

To hold her own against a werewolf, Callie knew she’d have to fling about some powerful spells, and the only thing she was thankful for was that it wasn’t around other people. Humans, who wouldn’t be able to do anything. Here, it was secluded, and she could be the powerhouse that she was. Leo liked to think he was stronger than she, but… he hadn’t seen Callie well and truly unleashed. And she’d be damned if she was going to let this creature harm Alexis.

What happened next was something Callie would never forget. The wolf managed to get in close, taking her off guard, and forcing her to fling up a defensive shield, shoving the wolf away from her as it crashed into her, and shoving her to the ground, her head slamming against the ground with enough force to make a thwack sound, and leave her dazed for a few seconds. Enough time for the werewolf to slip past her guard, and for screams to fill the air.

”Alexis” she screamed, the name ripping from her throat and leaving it raw, getting to her feet as quick as she could, the sight she saw sending shivers down her spine. Alexis on the ground, blood forming a pool around her body, and the wolf coming towards her. ”No” her voice came out in a hoarse whisper, broken, and she threw up her arms, the wolf’s jaws clamping down hard over her forearm. She slammed her free hand into its nose, and a spell shoved the wolf away.

She couldn’t get to Alexis, her gaze landing on the fallen girl, blood still falling from the wound, the terrible wound, on her shoulder, her neck, her eyes going lifeless even as Callie met them. The shock, fear and pain fading…. She couldn’t save the girl. Feeling like a complete failure, Callie closed her eyes, and reached her bloodied arm up to the charms she wore, seeking Leo’s… did he have it on him? She couldn’t remember… but she needed to get out of here, and the leyline was too far… ”I’m sorry” she whispered, to no one, to everyone, to Alexis’s departing soul. She cast her mind to Leo, to perhaps one of the only few people she completely trusted, that she’d let into her heart, knowing she needed him, more than ever right then.

Opening her eyes, the last thing she saw was Alexis’s body, the wolf leaping towards her as she traveled away from there, the familiar feeling of a leyline filling her, like she was being squeezed from all sides, until she came out. She recognised the car that she fell in front of, scrapping her palms, her wounded arm dripping blood on the pavement, looking up to the car, she barely saw it, tears in her eyes. Her voice painful, and filled with emotion, she reached out to the car, unable to pick herself up. ”Leo… please... “
Imogen

Location On the obstacle tower

Imogen already knew that she wasn’t going to win the tower, all the other competitors were a lot better than her, but it wasn’t about winning, not anymore. It was more about proving to herself, and everyone else, that she was stronger then she looked, then she had already shown. It was about proving to herself that… she could do this. She’d been in camp so long, she hadn’t really had the need to… to push herself. To prove herself. Winning didn’t matter. It was never about winning… although she’d try her very best. Finishing the climb up the rope ladder, imogen judged the best place to start the next part, taking a few deep breaths so she wouldn’t be gasping for air later, before continuing.

The winner would be Ky’ vie or Deon, it always was either, but that didn’t matter. Imogen pushed herself, attacking the course with dedication and determination, because who cared about winning? Sure it was great and all, but what did it really prove? That you were great at climbing up a tower that wanted to kill you? What did that prove? A tower could be predictable. People generally weren’t. All at once, she leaped, flinging herself up and in the air, reaching for the next platform, and pulling herself up, her heart beating at a mile a minute, at what she had done and how foolish it was. She didn’t even know where it had come from.

As she took a moment or two to calm down, she laughed at herself, wondering if she had been trying to teach herself a lesson. She shook her head, and continued on her way, wanting nothing more than to turn tail in run, but she wasn’t going to. She was going to reach the damn top of this tower, and nothing was going to stop her. Not even herself. She knew that there’d be other campers who’d find it amusing that she was participating, but she was going to show them. This year… this year she was going to make some changes. It was time… it was time she became a better… imogen.

Continuing through the tower, imogen looked up, unsurprised to see that Ky’ vie had reached the top, but that didn’t mean that imogen was going to give up. Far from it. She didn’t stop to rest, instead she continued through the tower, her arms beginning to burn, her legs feeling almost jelly like, but she was going to continue. She would finish the course. There simply was no other option. She was going to complete it, even if she came last. It still meant she had done it, and she knew she could get better. Besides, if she came last, it would be easier to climb up the ladder, until she got to the harder people to beat. Musing on that a moment, she stopped when she found somewhere to rest, taking a few deep breaths, to regain her strength.

She was going to prove that she had the right to be a daughter of Poseidon. She had a big legacy to follow, her brother Percy had done so much… he was a hard act to follow. She wasn’t going to do things for the glory… she just wanted to honor her father. Some people might think she was being disrespectful by having sea monkey’s, but… all water creatures deserved care and dedication, and she knew her father would appreciate it… if he ever knew about them. Realising that she was getting distracted, imogen resumed the course, with the same gusty as before, knowing she would never give up.

Although she was glad that there were kids from the Apollo cabin there.
Niesha and Michael

Location: The Obstacle Tower; Camp Half-Blood.
Interacting With:Erin Chase and syleste Niore @Vicier Simon Riddle (@Ghost Shadow), and Bexley Leahy (@tsubasa)

Michael gave a sigh as Simon joined them, sitting down nearby, and caught Moe’s interest. He made a small sound, and the big down looked to him, before bowing his head in what could only be a sad manor. “Oh, d-d-don’t b-be a s-s-sook, M-moe. You’re b-buh-better than that. You n-n-need to learn to b-behave” he said to the dog, giving him a pat, and scratching behind his ears, turning his attention to Simon. Studying the son of Hecate. Simon was a strange one, but then, Michael reflected, they all were strange in one way or another, so he couldn’t really blame him for being eccentric. Still, his words did anger Michael, and his eyes narrowed slightly to communicate that, although it would be all that gave away his emotions.

Niesha looked towards Simon, giving him a smiled which soon faded at his words. ”You don’t know what we are capable off, Simon” she said to him, her tone soft and serious, which Michael knew meant she was already thinking, working on tearing Simon’s words to shreds, and Michael smiled to himself. “T-t-the tower is n-n-never the real obstacle, i k-k-know this. It’s always about the p-puh-people involved. In w-war, and battle, it’s always about the p-people b-behind it” he said softly, as he talked his stutter seemed to improve, although the young man wasn’t aware of it. He looked away from Simon, towards the tower, studying it with his serious eyes, seeming to analyse every inch of it, and the people already beginning to climb it. It seemed Micael was going to say more, before he realised that Syleste and Erin had joined them. Blushing, he looked away, as Moe went ecstatic at the prospect of more people to give him attention.

”Besides, if we are afraid to even try, then we truly are no longer human. To be human is to try and fail. To fear injury and death is one thing, but to let it rule our lives? Then we have lost, for if we fail to even try, then there is no point in going on” Niesha finished for Michael, before turning to Syleste and Erin, ”hey, Syl” she greeted the girl, knowing that saying a greeting to Erin would get her nowhere, ”why should we control someone we love? Moe’s a good boy” She said, as Michael struggled to find his words,

“M-Moe, l-leave Erin alone. S-s-she d-d-doesn’t ap-p-preciate animals” Michael said softly to the dog, but he seemed more preoccupied with Syleste and her attention, as well as the smaller dog in her lap. Michael wasn’t worried about Moe hurting Prince. Moe really was a big softie, the dog wouldn’t hurt a fly. “T-t-thank you, S-s-syleste… b-b-but i t-think I’ll s-s-sit out t-t-this year… “ he managed to get out, looking to the tower once more, before looking to Syleste, unable to help it. His overgrown puppy was basking in her attention, his tail wagging so fast that Michael thought that he might just take off like a helicopter.

”Well, Erin, if our company is so appalling, you can always find somewhere else to sit, alone” Niesha said to Erin, bringing Michael’s attention to the other girl, but he didn’t say anything to her. What would be the point, she didn’t seem to like anyone, and Michael preferred to keep his interactions with her too… well, nothing. So he looked away, “D-d-do you w-w-want to know w-whats h=hap-happening on the t-t-t-ower, S-s-syleste… ?” he asked Syleste instead, “P-p-pierre is up t-t-there… “
