Matt took a deep breath for the hundredth time. His head was still giving him trouble and all of this new information wasn't helping. A controlled virus for world domination? The look on the scientist's face confirmed that she was being quite serious. Elysium...the name didn't seem familiar, but then again he didn't get out much. He also knew very little about viruses, injections and neuro-terrorism, but he was involved in all three now, like it or not. He paused to collect his thoughts in the silence when a new thought entered his mind.
"Why is it so quiet?" he asked. "Why hasn't anyone come looking for us? Never mind, I don't want to know. Not now. I'm with Freya. We need more information on this...project, and what exactly we're dealing with." A light clicked on in the back of his mind. A name and a face of an old friend that just might be able to help. First things first, though. Matt grabbed the scientist's arm again and pulled her towards the door.
"Take us to your office or lab or wherever you work," he whispered quickly. "Show us everything you have on whatever's in my blood right now."

Hi. I'm Matt. You could say I'm a Case of Identity...
1. The Important Stuff: Faith and salvation
I am a Christian. I believe the KJV Bible and that God is real, Jesus died for me, Jesus rose again and offered salvation to the world. Heaven is real, Hell is hot and the only escape is Christ. I accepted salvation the only way you can: by admitting I was a sinner (and I still am), believing that Jesus died for me and rose again, and calling on Him to save me. Anyone can do it anytime and be granted eternal life.
"Matt, why are you saying all of this?" you ask.
Because last time I was here, I did a crap job of establishing that and just tried to 'fit in.' I'm going to add a little more of this to my characters and to my signature, because it's the right thing to do and because there's freedom on these kinds of sites. Not to an extent that interrupts/derails the story, though. Your game, your rules.
2. The Actual Bio:
Hi guys. I'm Matthias Emmanuel Angel, I'm 24, and this is where I spend time when I'm not doing other things (church, homework, studying, video games).

-Landscape Management (my major)
-Guitar (over a decade of experience and not much to show for it)
-PC Games (gave up on Xbox, no regrets)
-RPGs (I play them too often though)
-Water instead of soda (oooo look at how healthy I am)
-Google SketchUp (awesome 3D models, free download)
-The number 23 (it's the best number)

-Profanity (especially when it's just filler in comedy)
-Lewd content and porn (and anyone bragging about it)
-Gory movies (how are they going to get butchered this time?)
-Jerks (you aren't a jerk, are you?)
-Insects (kill them all)
-Dying in video games (and forgetting to save)

I realize, of course, that this site doesn't have limits on profanity of lewd content. No worries. I'll work around it, and won't join up with RPs rated 18+. If you feel like it will be a problem, let me know BEFORE the RP starts.

True. Okay, we'll do it your way. Do you want to edit your post again before I post, or should I just keep the story going and the scientist can tell us this truth later, either after we escape or before she dies?
Why didn't you say that before, when I asked you what you thought the scientist could tell them? Because now I've wasted my time working on a post that's not good and now I have to go and edit it anyway... If you just say what you think next time, than that would be really helpful.

they'll kill all living things using the virus. What kind of use would that have? Doesn't really leave them with a lot to rule over, does it?
I added "threaten to kill" to my suggestion. The threat of being killed is a good "negotiation technique" when pressing for world domination. Besides, they could be doing that anyway to make room for their new utopia.
Second, why tell them they'll die anyway? Because that's about the best way to discourage them. Because if they know they will die anyway, why bother trying to find a cure? The way I see it, it would be a waste of time, and they'd might just kill themselves and be done with it.
Hmm. But wasn't that the original intent of the experiment to infect people and let them figure out what to do on their own? Originally we would only know that it was going to kill us. There's always the threat that our characters would give up and commit suicide, but Elysium is trying to find the kind of person who will overcome that fear and find a cure.
I'll post a reply later tonight or tomorrow. Got some college work to take care of first.

EDIT: Let's not reveal the whole "Cure the virus to enter a secret society" part. I want that to be the surprise at the end. Only the higher-ups know about it. Instead, how about "Elysium is trying to gain control of the world, so they're going to kill (or threaten to kill) everyone with a virus. We keep improving it until it cannot be cured. It's currently at (whichever stage of advancement the virus is at, maybe only the second or third). Even if you cure the virus, you'll be killed." The reality can be withheld until the end.
Assuming we cure the virus, we can say that as soon as we cure it we are captured, but rather than killing us they reveal the truth and we are...sent somewhere. I dunno. Maybe we just join them?

Wilson's usual attire consists of a muddy grey hoodie, tattered and weathered. The hood casts a shadow over most of his face, leaving only his wide, mischievous smile, and a set of heavy eyes with charcoal black pupils. He has black jeans and padded grey boots. He makes it a point to wear fingerless black gloves. The youth stands at a height of 5"7, with lanky limbs.
Dude, that's almost identical to my character from Page 1. The only difference is the color of his jeans.
"Take us to a blind spot, now." Matt hissed again, releasing his tight grip on the scientist's arm. He followed her down a few passages and through the door that led to the stairs. She walked halfway up a flight, stopped, then nodded. Each floor had a camera facing the landing. They were directly between two of them, just out of range. Matt pushed her against a wall and began whispering.
"Listen. I'm just a number too. Right now, I have no reason to kill or hurt you. Hopefully whoever is watching is convinced otherwise. We're going to need your help, though, and you're going to help us. Give me as much information as you can. If you have any data or technology on you, hand it over." He took a deep breath. "It's unlikely that your employers will let you help us, especially if you give us a key card or something. You could try to go back and convince them that you had no choice, but they may have already decided to kill you just in case. The odds are against you. It's in your best interest to get out of here and bring us along."
