Bio

Hi. I'm Matt. You could say I'm a Case of Identity...

1. The Important Stuff: Faith and salvation

I am a Christian. I believe the KJV Bible and that God is real, Jesus died for me, Jesus rose again and offered salvation to the world. Heaven is real, Hell is hot and the only escape is Christ. I accepted salvation the only way you can: by admitting I was a sinner (and I still am), believing that Jesus died for me and rose again, and calling on Him to save me. Anyone can do it anytime and be granted eternal life.

"Matt, why are you saying all of this?" you ask.

Because last time I was here, I did a crap job of establishing that and just tried to 'fit in.' I'm going to add a little more of this to my characters and to my signature, because it's the right thing to do and because there's freedom on these kinds of sites. Not to an extent that interrupts/derails the story, though. Your game, your rules.

2. The Actual Bio:

Hi guys. I'm Matthias Emmanuel Angel, I'm 24, and this is where I spend time when I'm not doing other things (church, homework, studying, video games).

///
What I like:
-Landscape Management (my major)
-Guitar (over a decade of experience and not much to show for it)
-PC Games (gave up on Xbox, no regrets)
-RPGs (I play them too often though)
-Water instead of soda (oooo look at how healthy I am)
-Google SketchUp (awesome 3D models, free download)
-The number 23 (it's the best number)
///
What I don't like:
-Profanity (especially when it's just filler in comedy)
-Lewd content and porn (and anyone bragging about it)
-Gory movies (how are they going to get butchered this time?)
-Jerks (you aren't a jerk, are you?)
-Insects (kill them all)
-Dying in video games (and forgetting to save)
///

I realize, of course, that this site doesn't have limits on profanity of lewd content. No worries. I'll work around it, and won't join up with RPs rated 18+. If you feel like it will be a problem, let me know BEFORE the RP starts.

3. Other Internet Presence:

You can find me in a couple other places.

Armor Games: MattEmAngel
Steam: club_blizzy
...and Comments here, of course.

See you in another world.
-Matt

"Okay, well, ask her for a translation," Matt replied over his shoulder. "'I can't read this' isn't going to help us. Try to find a starting point for killing this thing." He noticed that Freya looked a bit uneasy about seeing a syringe, but that was too bad. He wasn't going to use one on her anyway.

If he wanted to cure something in his blood, he was going to need a sample. Matt had been to the doctor a few times and knew the basic procedure for drawing blood. He warped a thin line of rubber tube around his left arm above the elbow, reducing blood movement in his arm and causing the veins to swell. He grabbed one of the needles, took several deep breathes and pushed it into his arm. He clenched his teeth and forced his other hand to draw the plunger back. The needle quickly filled with blood. He pulled the needle out and grabbed the other one, repeating the process as quickly as possible.
So is there a story or plot?

You should have Freya try to get her daggers back, since they seem to be an important part of her character.
bump!

However, I don't understand what you mean by that last sentence.

Okay, let me try to explain.

Do I live only in one universe (Minecraft in this case) with the ability to jump between multiple universes (since people from multiple dimensions have come to Minecraft, thereby leaving a "door" back to their universe), or can my character initially be a combination of several universes (for example, an Earthbender [Avatar: The Last Airbender] with a Sharingan [Naruto], the Portal gun [Portal] and a Master Sword [Legend of Zelda]) that can only exist in the world of Minecraft?

Matt yawned. He was leaning back in a swivel chair with his bare feet on a desk, staring at the ceiling. It was a dull white, recently painted by himself just to claim he changed something about his life. He was wearing crumpled grey camouflage combat pants and a sleeveless grey shirt with "OBX" printed on the front, his favorite place on earth besides the city. He looked over at his jacket hanging on the only coat hanger in his closet. It probably needed to be washed, but it wasn't going to happen in the next few minutes. His boots were on the floor below them, directly beside another identical pair still in the box. You never know when you're going to need a new pair of boots. The rest of his clothing was folded semi-neatly in the small three-drawer chest beside his twin bed. A large square mirror was mounted over it and he could see his reflection. Black hair combed back, recently cut down to an inch and a half. Dull, half-open eyes with dark pupils. Stubble on his chin from not bothering to shave the previous day. On first glance one might see him as a lazy college student, winging his way through life on his parent's money and ignoring the rules.

Matt smirked. He was far from lazy and was certainly not a college student. The dog tags on his mirror, hanging from a ball chain necklace, were real, although one of them was missing. If that wasn't enough evidence, his H&K UMP was mounted on a large gun rack in the living room with two loaded magazines and a pile of other weaponry and tactical armor. He was a "specialist," according to him anyway, along with his roommate whose name he often shortened to "Man." The two of them had a history that could have been turned into a novel no one would believe, but as of now they were Kilo, a team of men who were more or less detectives, investigators, SWAT soldiers, and (if necessary) the judge, jury and executioner. Their work area was an entire city and their assignments came in whenever they were needed to take care of something suspicious. The city's police force wasn't exactly first-rate and lately the commissioner had been hearing a lot of unsettling rumors. Whispers. Hints at something sinister.

Yet nothing had turned up. The few raids that the city had performed found exactly nothing. Rather than keep throwing resources and wasting gas on every set-up that came through the mail, the city turned to him. If a mysterious phone call comes in, or a threat shows up in the mail with a return address, Matt is sent to check it out. It was a relatively stable career, as long as people were willing to keep mailing threats and promising death.

He glanced at the clock again. No news. The apartment only had one wireless phone and only one person ever called it, but it had been silent for a while. So had his roommate. Was he even in? Matt shrugged, then winced. He had been twirling a butterfly knife in his left hand and the blade had clipped a finger (because who wants to own a blunt knife?). There was a wide array of medical supplies in the bathroom, but he didn't feel like moving that far. He jerked the top drawer of his desk open to reveal a fat box of band-aids. He slid one out, wrapped it around his finger, tossed the paper into the trash can under his desk, slid the drawer closed with his foot and went back to staring at the ceiling.

Matt rubbed his eyes, wincing again. His head still ached. He glanced at the nearest wall, which was covered in posted of the human body and several major organs. The woman must have some legitimate knowledge of the human body. He couldn't help but wonder how she got talked into a project like this. Maybe it started off small. A project that actually benefited humanity, perhaps? It didn't matter now.

"Again, what's the name of the virus? Does it have a file in this cabinet?" he asked, unsure of his next step. Matt had no experience as a doctor or even an EMT. He needed someone with experience, but going empty-handed wasn't going to help. They would need a sample of the virus. But the lab was clean. No samples, no pictures, nothing. The only available source was....

Matt snapped his fingers. Medical equipment. "Freya, do me a favor and try to find the file on this virus. I have an idea." He looked under the table and saw several cabinet doors. He jerked one open and examined the contents, then searched the second, making a list in his mind as quickly as possible. Two needles, two test tubes, two plastic caps with rubber taps, gauze, tape, elastic wrap, two syringe end caps and some painkillers. It wasn't the best plan, but it was a good start.

Sorry for the late reply, I was planning to respond over the weekend but then my parents were like "Let's go shopping all morning long, then take all of that heavy stuff out of the shed and stick it somewhere else!"

Matt stepped in and immediately looked for cameras. He disliked feeling watched constantly and the building had a way of giving you the sense that someone was always right behind you. He didn't notice any cameras, though, so he decided to get something done. The room contained a desk and computer, several tall filing cabinets and a wide, flat table. A microscope was bolted to it, along with a few drawers containing testing equipment: beakers, stirring rods, funnels, litmus paper, thermometers, and paper towels. There was a flat metal tray as well, but it was blank. No fluids, no slides, no test results.

Matt opened the first filing cabinet. Files were arranged alphabetically and each section was massive. How much research did these people do? He tugged a particularly thick one out at random. "BLOOD TYPE - A." He carefully opened it and glanced through. None of it made sense, but it seemed to relate to the weaknesses of A-type blood and how it reacted to...things. Viruses, perhaps? It was impossible to tell: the entire file was indecipherable.

Suddenly he remembered the computer. "Log on," he told the scientist. "Give me some information on this virus and how it works, whatever it is." He replaced the file and looked at the other drawers. "What's the name of this virus or project or whatever it is?"

We have five right now, but two or three other people said they'd join and haven't. Hm.
In Shifters 11 yrs ago Forum: Casual Roleplay
Meh. How many do we have right now? I would say that four is enough to get this started. I'd like some more info on where the story begins, though. Do you have a map for reference or something?
