How do we increase our God's influence?

Not sure if you meant your god's area of influence, or their currently unexplained stats.

Your god's have an area of influence, which is essentially the effective area in which they are most powerful. At the base that area will be around shrines or other religious buildings, but your god also has an area of influence near any of its minions who currently control an artifact (The size of the influence will vary depending on the artifact). You can increase the gods area of influence around a certain shrine by building around the shrine, religious buildings will help the most. You can also construct altars out of artifacts (Along with common building materials) which will create an area of influence for your god around them. So you increase your god's area of influence by upgrading shrines, creating and upgrading alters, and taking over other gods' shrines (Which you currently do not know how to do).

Your gods will also have stats: Power, Renown, and Alignment. Alignment is just a quick representation of what morality your god has (EX: Chaotic-Evil), and will be determined by the PC's actions in-game. Renown is how well known your god is to other gods, when it gets high NPC groups will recognize your god more and know of your group's actions. Power is the representation of your god's strength, as it increases your god will be capable of doing more. It will increase slowly as your group grows in strength, and will increase very quickly if your group does something big (Like defeating an epic creature or winning a big battle). It will also be increased through warring with other gods, when you destroy all the shrines/alters of another god, they will be weakened and your god will be able to consume them and absorb their strength.

Maybe later, your gods will be far too weak at the start.

Why not make it to where any PC can pray at the shrine (like random people do at a temple) but it takes double the time to pray in comparison to a priest with an artifact per PC? So without a priest you have 0.5 PP per turn at the shrine, with the priest away from the shrine it's 1 PP and with the priest and the shrine it's 2 PPOR in other words, Norm player takes double the time to pray when at the shrine (can't pray anywhere else though), a Priest player can pray anywhere at normal prayer amount and when the priest is at the shrine it takes half time to pray. ?? O_oJust an idea to help. I see that item thing being abused greatly.

Prayer didn't work out the way I wanted it to last time around, so I am trying to run it another way. It would be pointless for people to be crowding up at shrines to pray for the small effects you can currently achieve through prayer, maybe once your god grows in power and bigger effects are unlocked more open means of praying will be unlocked as well. Also don't think in terms of PP anymore, it over-complicates things, I'm throwing it out, I never wanted to do that in the first place but fell into it as certain players tried to figure out the math behind prayer. As far as it being abused, you seem to be misinterpreting how rare artifacts are.

Building buildings is important. Will buildings built reflect the style of each god?

Eventually they will, but your gods don't really have a style right now. The gods' style and such will be determined by how you players represent the god. When constructing, if you want to build in a certain style, just say so.

Added a "What has been changed" section to the OP, I'll deal with the rest later.

And here we are, I've went ahead and made new game threads mainly so I could change the organization around a bit.

New Command Thread

I know I said that you all would start out already spawned and with all your stuff, but I decided to change how the spawning system worked so it would have been awkward to have you all already in. Now you can choose your starting class, which will decide what starting bonuses you get, and you all who played for a while in this game (I'll probably give it to everyone but Joe/Bea, who just joined before this all happened) will get extra bonuses at the start in the new game.

New Conversations Thread, start talking in here

So I've decided to make some changes to how the game will work, one of the major ones being that prayer will work very differently from how it has so far. I'll be editing an explanation for all the changes (Along with basic gameplay info for new player) into the OP soon.
--- Lore ---

--- Bestiary ---

So I'm just going to make a new thread for conversations with this revamped tribes.

This post will soon contain basic info, and info on things that will be different from the original game, for now PLACEHOLDER
