@KoL Like Birb I've been a bit busy, in my case trying to find some summer work (Southern Hemisphere ftw :3). I enjoy the slower pace, but then again I always do. The fact that each interaction doesn't immediately devolve into a fight is refreshing. The Festival does feel as if the main plot has been pushed aside, but I think it's a needed break so that people don't burn out on battles or whatever.

I figured that moments like these were the purpose of the 'Real Life' parts. I'm sure everyone here must enjoy these moments on some level, otherwise players would probably find some other type of RP in the same vein, possibly inspired by SAO, Log Horizon or some other 'Trapped in the game' theme as there is logically no real life there :P
@KoL Thanks, irl has been making it a bit harder to keep up as posts happen and I can tend to miss things in my binge reads :)
Tori

Tori was briefly knocked unconscious, the pain of what amounted to about half a building and being crushed was something she was certainly not used to. Coughing into the water Tori made to pull herself up before she was barrelled over. Getting a mouthful of sewer water, Tori spat it out and coughed again, struggling to breathe. Looking at what hit her Tori’s vision swam back into focus.

“Beastkin. Assumed extinct, I’ll have to clarify that the species is instead severely endangered” scrunching her brow Tori finally heard what Ruxen had said “You live here? Why would you want to live in a sewer? Let me up” pushing Ruxen off her, Tori stumbled to her feet looking for the twins that she attempted to save. Grimacing as she tried to look around, Tori went intangible for a second and let all the tiny bits of debris that hurt her fall out, coughing out dust as she did. Resuming the search, Tori found the twins. One of them was fine, Linea she thought, Sienna on the other hand… was hurting in a bad way. She had lost a lot of blood and needed first aid at the very least. Turning to the beastkin that had knocked her down…

“I need help. Judging by your tone you have decided that I should claim responsibility for your lack of a home. If you assist me I will show you to a teacher of mine that will gladly take you in, enjoys the quiet and lives comfortably in the forest. I can only contact her if I can leave here safely. I will only contact her if these two both live. If you can somehow bring the robot Nebula stuck under those rocks as well, I’ll be even further in your debt… I don't know I'll by you a lot of meals, just please help” almost begging, Tori was too far out of her depth, she didn’t hate the twins even after they ran off with Nebula. She didn’t want their death to be on her head. She didn't want them dead, period. Tearing off a strip from her undershirt, Tori made a makeshift tourniquet with it and tightened it around Sienna’s stump of an arm to prevent any further blood loss and pulled her away from the hole they fell through before going back for Linea

It was all falling apart. Figuratively and rather literally. Walls crumbling as the artificial intelligence was knocked away, possibly doomed to being crushed. Possibly suffering the same fate was the Twins, vanishing from view as rubble rained from the ceiling. Adrenaline pumped through Tori’s system, everything slowed to a crawl as she had to think

The artificial intelligence is highly important, more important than any one person’s life. It has lost knowledge and the little I have memorized alone can widen my research into new fields, untouched by anyone. Twins. Daughters of a colleague and powerful enough in their own right. Obviously have knowledge and resources beyond me and I’m not an idiot, that Librarian probably has corrupted them… but if he has, they have access to their resources, their knowledge. Definite knowledge that has already helped me? The loyalty and a debt from two girls who have access to resources outside the official ones?
feet moving before she had made her decision mentally Tori saw herself dashing to the robot. Gritting her teeth and growling, Tori tore herself off course and went intangible. Phasing through the falling rocks, the wings that were her cloak splayed out, Tori arrived crouching over the twins. Bracing herself for what was to come, Tori became tangible once more. Rubble and debris rained down upon her, wings defending what they could while a stabbing pain in her left leg made her vision darken for a moment, a shard of wood had lodged itself in her calf having been passing through her at the time of Tori fading back into reality.

“Y-you girls better live through this all. You… you both owe me big time!” the only thing she could hope was that a robot wasn’t so fragile to break under a battering, but she didn’t hold out hopes.

Alright, so Russell is coming along nicely combat and items wise, however I'm trying to figure out which archetype to have the personality/history. Gambler who won too much from the wrong people? A Doc Holiday type who was run out of business by a big city rune magician who charged exorbitant prices?

As soon as I've figured him out, he'll be gracing Dust town :)

Then be creative. Fight the fate of despair if you want to have your happy ending.

Hmm... Tori may have to get a bit smooshed by rocks... I have a gestation of an idea, gimme a bit of time to work out the kinks first.

I have my very last assignment of the year due this Sunday my time, so I'll post if I can get a chance... but I'm naturally dealing with some priority management :P

Go with this, that was my original plan anyway, especially since she CAN'T save anyone while keeping her powers active.

No saving? I don't want to see pasted adorable twins! :(
Does this mean I need to work on a CS-I see you Pandora.

You do.

I'm interested and curious. Falling back into Red Dead Redemption and the new Westworld series have me wanting something western-y :P

Noisy, noisy, noisy… what a crowd displeased at the growing noise and commotion, more than anything else really. Looking at what was basically a mob ran her hand through her hair, combing it back to look somewhat more presentable. Rolling her eyes annoyedly she looked to the twins

“Just calm down girls, it’s no prob… lem…” seeing the twins escaping any member of the crowd would hear a sharp, bone crunching, popping noise. Tori’s teeth were clenched and it sounded like her jaw was cracking. Whether it was from all the wear and tear of the Arcadian adventure or something older, no one could say but her. Either way, Tori was livid. Those girls were running off with the find of a century!

“GET BACK HERE WITH THAT ANDROID!” her bone white tome activating with a vague glow that made her indistinct to all around. Cloak splayed out like wings, Tori bent over in a sprinter’s start. Cloak sweeping down, Tori looked disdainfully at the crowd for spooking such skittish girls and shot after the twins, flying as fast as her tome could manage. Ignoring all obstacles, Tori followed the girls and folded in her ‘wings’ as she dive bombed the Cathedral, phasing through the roof before splaying her wings just before she hit the ground, death glaring at the twins.

"You're not very polite... why did you do that, girls? I clearly stated my interest in her..." casually brushing her clothes, Tori did her utmost to appear not upset at all. Tori's eyes betrayed her though...

Alex

Alex felt his head spinning. Bel was being a bit less playful and a lot more mischievous than he recalled. Kind of like as if she had lost her balance. The smirk was really quite something too, kinda stretching her mouth in an unnerving way that he couldn’t place... as if it didn’t properly fit her face quite right. Plus a smirk? Maybe if it was coy or teasing, this one seemed more... well, he’d only known her for a little while, it felt like forever, but it was probably barely a proper week. The squeeze was a bit tight though, forcing the breath from his lungs. Rolling over, Alex tried to steady himself before finding his feet once more. His newfound balance was short lived as a screech sent Alex back to his knees.

“Bel, why the... the symphony? You're a bit off key there. Wait, jealous? Does wanting me to be jealous of them a good thing? Or did I do something wrong?” letting himself fall back to the ground Alex relaxed a bit before trying to get back up looking around at the… kinda crowd.

“So why on earth do you need my, theirs or anyone’s help? You’re a guild master. A ruler in DGO, a King in fact. Kings have subjects and surely you must have a legion, a literal legion, of players of the highest degree of level and skill. The one skill I have is that I can drive amazingly and am very good a dropping things on people’s heads. Also a very loud soundtrack seems to be just the opposite to what a secret mission needs… and I’m still a Fanged Ranger unless a lot more than the date has changed.” Unsure if he should give Bel a hand, as Bel seemed to be enjoying herself down there. Still, he should probably be a gentleman and help her up. Offering the hand Alex reached down and clenched his teeth in an effort to stop the spinning and keep his aim true.
