Abilities:

  • Arcane Celerity - Enhances one's physical prowess with arcane energies, increasing dexterity.
  • Linguist of Magicka - Can comprehend the purpose of magical seals and glyphs (such as magical locks or traps).
  • Analyzing Glance - Infuses the eyes with arcane energy enhancing examination abilities, in particular identifying weaker points on an enemy. Requires spellbook.
  • Arcane Sparrow - Fires a bolt of arcane magical energies in the form of a small bird in flight. Strikes with a weak concussive force.
  • Dazzling Gleam - Illuminates weapon with arcane magical energies, causing the blade to become lighter allowing for swifter and more rapid strikes. When swung quick enough the blade may flash temporary blinding enemies and opening moments of opportunity to strike. Requires a melee weapon with an edge or blade of any kind

Story so far..


For the last five you've heard everyone of your peers talk about it, gamers and non-gamers alike. The first Virtual Reality game with an online multiplayer aspect. Where you will see people from all over the world in your living room and be able to experience a brand new landscape with every one of them. People have been discussing what the experience will be like for so long, you feel as if you can already imagine what the game will be like. The advanced combat system designed with pain empathy allowing you to fully experience a digital world, a physics system so complex it took two quantum computers to maintain it. An A.I. system so advanced some believe you won't even be able to tell real players from NPCs. Promising over two hundred thousand hours of game play on it's first iteration without any patches, updates or expansions. The expectations for this game are through the roof. You know this game will revolutionize everything. And now it's here.

In less than a day, twenty hours from now you'll receive an email with one of the first Beta Codes released. Only five hundred of them will be given out and somehow you've nabbed one. You'll login and experience such an in-depth character creation sequence it'll consider every facet of your personality that could be imagined. Quizzing you, studying you, learning things about you that you haven't even thought of yourself. The machine knows you. After giving it a final once over and editing your character in anyway you want, you feel your body sucked into another realm. Every sense you have consumed by something new, something digital which begins to feel more real than reality ever had. You've just entered Kingdom of the Skies Online.

Plot:



You are one of the first to play the new game launched by OmniCorp, Kingdom of the Skies Online. A promising experience, the first ever Online Virtual Reality game. The game has been in development for so long people believed it was nothing more than a myth but six months ago the rumors were confirmed when OmniCorp announced it's completion of the game and it would begin testing. As soon as it was announced, OmniCorp released a Beta Signup with some extremely strange requirements for a game; a physical, a psychoanalysis by an OmniCorp approved professional, your Social Security information and forty dollars. But you refused to be hindered, after completing them all you officially signed up and waited until the codes would be distributed. And now you've got one.

You login to find you've completely lost yourself. Unable to remember what your name is, where you are or how you arrived at such a fantastic place. The world you left, our world, nothing but faint memories that lack words. The faces of your loved ones fading off into obscurity, mere faces in a crowd that resemble something you used to hold dear. The real world becomes an abstract concept no longer important. You now must survive in this world.


Kingdom of the Skies Online:




The world of Kingdom of the Skies is unique. The massive floating continent known as the Starland drifts among the clouds weightlessly. A gleaming Utopian city of white stones and brilliant metals clings to the side of the Starland, a nearby body of water releases an ever cascading flow over it's edge. Below, where the water falls, are lands that once belonged to the humans. The remnants of these settlements still can be seen today, long since fallen to evil. This place below this Utopia is the Greyland. An area of sickness and darkness that cannot be put into words. This hostile landscape is packed to the brim with hostility as strongholds of evil collect across it's rocky terrain, amassing armies with hopes of one day taking the Starland the last refuge of good in the world. The largest of these strongholds being the Fellscape, a massive underground complex, according to legends, leads to the center of the World where the most evil things lurk and along with them the cause of all the corruption.


Expectations & Experiences:




The Class system will just be there to serve as an indicator for others to understand what you do. I.e.; a Warlock is a spellcaster who uses darker style magic, a cleric will heal others magically, a dragon knight will have a fighting style reminiscnet of a dragon, a brawler will probably fight with their fists, a swashbuckler will most likely be a duelist/pirate type character, etc.

You will create a character using a unique creation system that is nowhere near complex. By choosing one profession (Actor, Bard, Blacksmith, Mercenary, Trapper, Sailor) and assigning yourself to one of the many Guilds listed below you create your own style of fighting and skills. Be anything from a Black Mage utilizing the dark forces against themselves to a magical Bard using songs as incantations to do battle. Creativity is encouraged and thinking outside the box is expected. You will make your own spells, feats, abilities, etc..

Guilds:
(For now, open to other ideas for Guilds if anyone has any)
  • Warrior Guild - Guild for anyone who wants to learn how to master weapons. (Ex: Fighter, Archer)
  • Thieves Guild - Guild for those apt in thieving, deception and underhanded tactics. (Ex: Rogue, Bard)
  • Black Mage Guild - Guild for those interested in anything dark or destructive utilizing the magical arts. (Ex: Pyromancer, Necromancer.)
  • White Mage Guild - Guild for those interested in using their magic to aid allies, heal and harness the power of the Three gods. (Ex: Cleric, Priest)
  • Guild of the Star - Guild for those interested in Arcane Magic. (Ex: Wizard, Battlemage)
  • Guild of the Tree - Guild for those more comfortable with magic that focuses on nature. (Ex: Druid, Monk)
  • Guild of the Blue - Guild for those interested in magic of the mind. (Ex: Psion, Illusionist)


What should you expect?


This will be a fantasy/adventure Roleplay with some of everything hopefully. Romance, Slice of Life, Action, Tragedy, Comedy, etc. We will build a party of members who will work towards the ultimate goal of beating the game for our survival. Our characters will all be members of the same Fellowship run by NPCs of the game world who hold an ultimate goal of defeating all evil in the world and retaking it for humankind. There will be no real-life aspect of the game as most of what is real-life has been erased from your memory. The game will feel like reality, there will be no opening of inventory screens or dying into pixels. There will be blood, mortal wounds, actual food. The game is a simulated reality, like the Matrix. You would not even know it was a game had you not remembered the fact you signed into the game.




This is still a WIP as all Roleplays probably are at the interest check. But this is just me seeing if anyone is interested in an idea like this. So yeah, anyone in? Thoughts? Ideas? Opinions? Let me hear them.
Okay I'm glad we got some interest. I'm gonna post this in the Casual Interest Check because that's where the OOC will go if we get a little more attention.
