I wish I was your derivative; that way I could be tangent to your curves. Pulling out the nerdy ones here.
Doesn't mean I have to like it. And it's still a barren storyline wasteland.
I honestly feel Norway would be better for what you're going for than Sweden.
Man, I'm looking at the map right now and just... I need that Libya back in my life.
I ship this. Also colonialism is the only way you can get powerful enough to turn around and tell Spain to go to hell.
The quantity of text isn't an issue, I'm sure. Many people within this RP love to make huge posts, but they are not mandatory. @Rare: You could theoretically get Europa Universalis 3, I am sure you couldn't manage 4 since it is even younger than CK2.
Good news, everyone! I finally got my first post as Mexico in, and at just over 18,000 pages, I think that's a record for me. :D Also, if you're looking for a good game, I apologize; I don't exactly have any good recommendations. Maybe you could try the Zoo Race? It's a classic struggle between the human mind and all the forces of hell that would seek to ravage it, drag it down to the deepest depths of insanity...also it has Jesus. I think.
I assume you mean characters, not pages. In regards to the whole technology debate, I would say much of the magic of Precipice lies in its realism. If we shouldn't have a weird zany Floridian republic with super advanced jets because it's not realistic, then surely some gradual technological progress should happen because staying in the 1950's forever would be not realistic? The entire concept is based around alternative history, and though to make a good story obviously requires that sometimes be ignored there should be a balance between the two extremes. I feel like nations should be able to develop technologies such as jets or rocketry or what have you (obviously not nukes) if they are reasonably sized and reasonably well developed over a period of time, given an ample amount of time dedicated to explaining it's development, as I have with my little experimental rocketry project since 1976 (and probably destined to last until whenever the next timeskip is or the one after that). And nations such as Prussia should be able to develop them even faster. I don't see why Hugs couldn't at least have really basic jet technology and refine it over time. I just feel that the technology restrictions should be a little less intense, and should go with Gorgen's suggestion of gradual progress over time as this RP continues to progress into the future. I'll post as soon as I finish House of Cards, probably tomorrow.
From a logical time-divergence point of view, my only issue with the stunted technology growth is that even if those key figures in Europe might have died, others not just in Europe but the rest of the world would have risen to take their place. Most technological innovations were made by various people independently, and then only after it became important people would figure out who did it first. Not to mention North America with practically equal technology and South America/Australia only a bit behind that of Europe, which suffered no such destruction. Admittedly many nations don't have a lot of scientists/are fairly undeveloped (like my own), but Canada, America, and Australia would have been the primary nations pushing things along, and even a lack of economic development doesn't mean a lack of technological progress. Just my two cents on the subject.
I hereby present to you the 100% complete, updated, finished and correct map of a world on the Precipice of War. Large version here: Bam! Heck if I can find a color for the Slavic Union if that happens though.
>no Georgia >can't edit on phone :(
I will add you immediately. Color request?
