The thing with Spain is that it's so old and important to the story I only trust it to someone whose been involved for as long and is at least as reliable. Sorry to say but the long absence you exhibited before announcing your original retirement doesn't really mark you as a good candidate for Spain. Likewise, Vilage has adopted the Volga Confederacy in part for one of his story arcs so they're not up for grabs.
We would rather like you to stay as Brazil. You made your bed there, so sleep in it. Finding fresh pastures isn't going to imply fresh opportunities for story-telling.
Of course, I'd expect as much. I only considered something around Russia because I've developed a lot more knowledge of Russian culture and history (as a Russian major that makes sense), so it would perhaps be easier to write from the perspective of.
That being said, the volunteer idea seems just as interesting, provided I could properly involve myself.
