We did our kilometer sprint in the indoor track built like 100 years ago that has asbestos and I'm still hacking my lungs up.

Call that mesothelioma.

Well if you do come down with Meso, then you can get in on that big multi-million dollar pot.

I'm keeping track of how the government has fucked me so I can get some disability pay when I leave.

Right now I have a shoulder that popped out of its socket and continues to do so on a constant basis and joint/back problems.

inb4 you leave and try to take out disability and some staunch conservative government is in power and refuses to pay up because it'd be a abuse of its fiscal responsibilities.

You're like 20 and already have old people problems. That sucks.

I expect back problems in my life time due to height, but I don't really get any yet. Except when I stand for a really long time.

I pick heavy things up and put them down on a regular basis.

I used to be really sore in the legs, now my feet just hurt. I decided to start using the Dr Scholl foot pad things for my shoes. Helped sorta, except now it seems my left foot just hurts on principle.

I don't have anything like that despite being overweight. I did once slip a disk in my back when I was 17, but that was because an ATV fell on me

I once had an allergic reaction to penicillin and had to spend a night in hosipital. I don't have any awesome "The 'RA ran me over with a tractor" stories, unfortunately.

I fell down a flight of stairs when I was a kid. Slid all the way down on my chest. Got up and pretended it was on purpose.

You'd think falling down stairs is exaggerated in movies, but it's really not. You lose complete control and just tumble down the steps. Before it happened to me, I thought that was something movies did for dramatic effect or something. But nah, when you fall down stairs there is no regaining control until you hit the final step.

I have fairly defective reflexes, so one time I slipped on a patch of gravel in a Home Depot parking lot, fell over like a tree without even putting my arms out to stop myself, and landed on one of my canine teeth. It snapped in half and they had to basically glue the part that cracked off back on.

Randomly stopping in to comment complete. Brazil is free, in case there was any doubt about that, which I told Chap.

I should have written a post today, or more of one. But I got busy running around and by the time I got back I somehow found myself without time to do anything. Or at least because I was busy porting an audio-book about the Marquise de Lafayette onto my iPod.

@Mihndar
And now it is confirmed.

So a fun thing I learned.

In the pre-Hiroshima world of medical science, meaning in the world of people like Marie Curie and that understanding of radiation it wasn't a bad idea for most to visit spas to get to relax in "radon water" to alleviate joint pains and other ailments, and was quiet popular in Europe back in the day.

But then of course the US drops two nukes and the public perception of ye olde ionizing radiation changed and that sort of business died very soon after.

But recently it's been making a slow come-back with fans and providers claiming that it has health benefits at low doses for people suffering from pains brought about by arthritis. I read an article from Der Spiegel that discussed a study by German universities in this new trend and they seem to in part agree: pain is alleviated, blood pressure is lowered, and the aggressive immune system that causes joint pain is briefly calmed down to provide relief.

Their only caution is they don't know how much is too much, but they did a double test on volunteer interviews with participants in radon-spa goers and exposed mice to low doses of radon.

What does this mean for PoW? Without nukes or nuclear power or nuclear fear at all then the practice might still be a thing. Might.

Would a hippo or a hippo-sized lobster win in a fight? I say the lobster, my little brother says the hippo.

The hippo for sure. A giant lobster would be pretty scary, but I imagine a Hippo could easily crush it. With its sheer weight, or even its jaws. Hippos ain't no fuckin' joke. There's a reason no one fucks with them, and when someone does they get rekt. Also, I don't know much about lobsters despite being originally from New England, but I imagine they're kind of like crabs in that their limbs can get pulled off very easily. So yeah, hippo wins.
