He could see the media vans nearby. They were getting the hero-battle on the midday news and were likely live streaming to the rest of the population. Savant had only taken notice after Dread Lock had joined them again, right before he leaped to the next building.
How did he do it..? He was remembering the sight of another hero with speed capabilities, he would jump from building to building after monsters to avoid traffic.
Ah... Yes, with the right foot first… He landed on the left and sprinted forward with approximately a seventy-eight degree angle to his back… While using his ability, Savant had to mimic the motions as he remembered them. He could, of course, improvise but there was no guarantee of success if he did.
He landed on the next building as Guardian made a small crater in the street below them. The sound filled his ears but did not affect his thought process, he simply logged the action and continued, as fast as he could, toward the penguin. There was another there by the time he’d arrived. What happened next was a surprise. He hadn’t considered the small creature’s mass - it must’ve weighed several tonnes. That is to say that the alien must’ve been incredibly strong just to move. This would explain its speed while attacking that Savant had heard about earlier.
Savant stumbled and caught himself as the building and the surroundings began to rumble violently. Time seemed to slow.
The Guardian… superior strength… not useful here… Ventus… no, too difficult… real powers always are… Steel Devil..? Lightning reflexes and her hand to hand prowess… yes… His thoughts raced as his body acted, absent of his mind. It leaped, lightly touching, several chunks of building that ultimately fell to the Earth below, in order to propel itself to a safe area. He struck an offensive martial arts pose as the ninja arrived and began attacking the penguin…
Perhaps it’s a duck or something like that…Savant decided to allow Guardian, behind him - but not by much, to attack first. It would be logical to allow the strongest present to have the first blow in order to maximize their effectiveness. He stayed put in Steel Devil's offensive pose, though he wouldn't stay for long - just a few milliseconds.
