Hello. I was wondering if you all were wanting new people to hop in. Mintz has given me some rundown of the place, and I have looked through the intro section, but I figured it would be better to ask. Plus, if you aren't as active as many of the other things I've been in, its a plus. Currently going through a few number of hoops right now, but figured this would be a nice fun way to relax. Doesn't help that some reading on some characters, mostly the powers... I can easily say some of my more wacky ideas may fit in.

I'm still new to this site, so I apologize if I take a bit to get everything perfect.

I guess the only thing I can really ask: How out there can I go with a power? Like I know currently we have super suggestion with puns and rainbow shooting edgelords I love both of their designs and powers btw, but I figured it would be best to ask before I randomly just send someone with a power named Fart Rocket.
from what I can tell, revolve more around pointing towards their own archetypes with effects rather than a specific type.

You would be surprised about that. Looking at some of the more recent archetypes, like Code Talker and even some Rokket stuff, they still do revolve around their own specific monster type. Even an archetype like Starry Knights, which are more recent than both of those, still mention needing their own type of monster.

Plus, since I am allowing the use of other older archetypes, like Fire Fist and I think someone said something about wanting to use plants, I would have to suggest against using the Zombie World specifically. Not to say that none of the decks mentioned don't have ways out of it, but still. Like its either they have a way to out the field spell just so they can use their own deck, which means you won't be using yours to the fullest, or their own deck suffers a lot, and either way its not fun for either.
I mean you can do that. Just don't go crazy like the meta would want you to.

Yep, it’s actually my deck of choice right now.

I’m also going to be making two decks, both will be for Rokkets, but one will be for rp based dueling and the other will be for Duelingbook.

I don't see much point, as the duels shouldn't be taking place on Dueling Book unless people really want to, but eh. Up to you.
EXAMPLES!

This does not mean that these will be in use. These are just ideas I've had from previous other roleplays I've been apart of. Does not mean I am using them

@Shiyonichi So I guess that is a claim for Rokkets? lol
Well, since a general interest is here, I have went ahead and posted up everything to get started on this roleplay. The link is here: roleplayerguild.com/topics/187220-yu-…
Hello and welcome. Here at the grand Academy of Tomorrow, we are looking for the best and brightest young minds to come forth and lead this work into a new generation of professional dueling. Our state of the art facilities are looking at developing and nurturing even the most simple minded of players into those who rival some of the legends of the past!

Each student is divided between three years, being based on Duel Academy's very own structure of schooling. Slifer Red, Ra Yellow, and Obelisk Blue. These represent most of your achievements both going into the school and outside of it. And within the three years, these students will blossom into becoming the strongest ones around.

As such, we have plenty of training equipment possible for your dueling needs. Major gymnasiums where the latest in augmented reality allow the user to hop between stages with their monsters. High speed tracks for those who tend to go around on the fast lane to success. Even possible ways of going into the net and practicing dueling online.

I hope that you find this instructional video helpful, and may we see you on the island.

Hello everyone. This is a roleplay based on the Yu-Gi-Oh Franchise, with a primary focus on the GX setting. As such, there will be some weird story lines, vibrant characters, and anything that you could find enjoyable from some of the older series here, but without any plot focused around certain characters. This just allows everyone a chance to get off the ground and do whatever they wish.

My name is Dave. It is very nice to meet all of you, and I do hope that you have fun here.

First the forum rules:
  • 1. Don't be a dick to those around us.
  • 2. No Marysue/Garysue. Lets have some characters.
  • 3. No god mode. I know I mentioned in the interest tab that most of the duels will be sorta scripted, but don't know something that your character wouldn't know at the time.
  • 4. At least have enough detail in a post to have others give a chance to respond, without having some awkwardly long pauses. I've been there. One liners are easier, but it is very hard to get a story going with just those alone.
  • 5. Have fun.

I am still new to Roleplayer's Guild, but from what I've heard the rules don't need to be listed, but I still feel somewhat like it was a good idea posting it up.

General things I want for this forum would be just a fun place for all of us to get together and expierience some of the oddities that come with a card game anime, or just duel around in the off time. No god moding, no main character syndrome, etc. And just discussing the plans with many of the other players to get things going.

Some of the things allowed in this forum
  • Darker themes. I will allow it, but just don't go too edgy. This is Yu-Gi-Oh. Not a 13 year old's notebook lol. I am joking so sorry if anyone is 13
  • Custom Cards. A lot of the older archetypes or cards I know I like don't get a lot of support or have fallen to the wayside, and I can imagine others are feeling the same way. So feel free. Those will have to be graded before use though.
  • All summoning mechanics. While I figure some people might be more familiar with the standard tribute, ritual, and fusion, I know I personally prefer some of the later summoning conditions, like Synchro or Link, and I know others would as well.

Suggestions:
While at least a student is required, as those will probably be the people running around doing the majority of things at the school, I will say I am allowing others to make teachers or possible big bads for later arcs. Just feel free to ask. And students can be from any grade, but just bear in mind they might graduate. Grades are set up like Slifer Red are 1st years, Ra Yellow is 2nd years, and Obelsik Blues being 3rd years.

DISCORD
As with everything I do, there will be a discord for this. Just pm me and I'll send you a link for it.

As for deck building: We will be using the latest TCG Banlist, link will be in the discord, with some alterations. Those will be given after the sheets, and examples will be posted soon as well. At the very bottom is a list of claimed decks and who has them. If others want to use a deck, then they can ask. I will say I am only listing down Archetype/Series claims, not like "I claim Plants" or something like that.

Custom Cards

Personalized Banlist:

Deck Claims: Just so we don't have two people running around with the same deck. Unless its agreed on between them.
@ShiyonichiAll extra deck summoning mechanics will be allowed. Fusion, Synchro, XYZ, Pendulums, and Link. And rituals as well, even if they aren't an extra deck mechanic.
@Crimson FlameYou would have a lot to catch up on, but luckily it is mostly easy to learn.

RP duels I figured would be handled like usual, and probably just be a few discussions between individuals to see how they would like to handle everything, winners, losers, etc. Individuals could either know what their hand is going to be (for lack of a better term stacking a deck) or there are deck shufflers to get a bit more of an authentic experience. Just so long as everyone is having fun and can come to an agreement.

If there is enough drive for something else, like us doing the duels on DuelingBook (as they have custom card creation and usage) then we can always handle it there, but the prior method is generally used a lot more, and I've only seen a couple of instances where its become an issue, Most of those were due to a lack of communication or just a general dick of a player.

Edit: A bit of a poor explanation, but its just discussing with different individuals about how everything will be handled.
