Layla pouted as she took stock of her situation. She was alone in a foreign country where she could barely communicate and was functionally illiterate. She had no means of contacting the school, nor any contact information for the school itself. All of her money was in the wrong currencies, and she had no idea where to find a moneychanger, or if this town even had a moneychanger to start with. On top of that, wasn't the opening ceremony today? If she didn't move fast, she might miss registration!

As the great Warren Zevon once said, Layla needed lawyers, guns, and money. Barring that, she needed some form of transportation.

"Alright!", she said as she began to walk, "No games! I'm commandeering the first stray dog I see, and nothing and no-one will stop me!"

Granted, it didn't have to be a dog. A cat was fine, too. Or even a pig. Her train of thought was interrupted by a high-pitched whine from a nearby alleyway. Lucky! Layla turned to look, eyes sparkling...

And found herself faced with a very peculiar-looking dog. The dog stared at Layla, and Layla at the dog. Expressionless, Layla clicked her heels, pivoted one hundred and eighty degrees, and took a deep breath.

"...Yessiree!", Layla said as she walked away, "The second stray dog I see! I am commandeering the second stray dog I see, and nobody will stop me!"

While fighting mechs on foot is doable, the size difference might make it a little hard. I do have a sub-system lying around here somewhere that can do superhumans, but I'm trying to keep the complexity as low as possible so we won't be using it this time. Sorry.
You could still do something that transforms like a Guyver or Tekkaman if you wanted, though.

@Rin
Ah, bad news: Gunbuster might be a bit hard for you to build faithfully, since it has so many nice things and is crazy big and pretty much unstoppable outside of that. Ideon, Mazinger ZERO, and the Superman Thought Robot will probably have similar problems. If you can figure out how to do it feel free though.

@Raineh Daze
It's not D&D 3.5, sorry.

@Dead Cruiser
I think systems make combat interesting.

@Lmpkio
Evas are fine but you'll have to pick a consistent size instead of changing it every scene like in the show. Also that's a nice picture of Shattered Glass Optimus but I'm not sure what it has to do with Eva.

@Nanashi Ninanai
That's wonderful! What do you think you'll make?

@Dynamo Frokane
Ah, I actually had my system all written up from the start, so I'm going to stick with it. Don't worry, though, you shouldn't have to roll any dice.

@Thecrash20
Gundams are nice but the shows always feel a little samey (excepting G of course). I'll tell you right now that Megatron isn't super likely- the only Transformers-based encounter I've got so far is one involving Bruticus.

@Keyblade87
Good to know! Any ideas for a character?
@Scio
It's all good.
Layla's gonna do her thing and get there a little later. I think it'll be funnier that way.
@Scio
Oh no it's totally fine.
Fuji Quest will probably take a bit so feel free to go on ahead with whatever you had planned.

@Letter Bee
Oh, so it's being able to tell who hates him but is being polite?
That makes sense. Like one of those Japanese comic things where the guy senses KILLING INTENT from the assassin seconds before he strikes.
@Scio
Well it'd be around 150-1 Motoichiba, Fuji, in the Shizuoka prefecture.

@Letter Bee
But wouldn't anything that would cause a sudden spike also be pretty noticeable?
@Scio
Somewhere around 35°09'24.5"N 138°39'15.9"E.
Also that's a nice Mustard Seeds picture you've got there. I like the one of her and her dad, personally.

@Letter Bee
Not complaining or anything but is it really power when all it does it tell you things you already knew to begin with?
That just seems a little odd, is all.
Some time ago, a cybertronian scientist by the name of Shockwave attempted to collapse all universal streams into a singular point. He succeeded, and for a short while all that was, is, and will blended together. He was quickly stopped by Optimus Prime (and a bench), but the damage was done: Universes unrecognizably scrambled, out-of-place artifacts entering timelines in which they had no right to exist.

You have been flung to such a universe, and have found a place onboard the Macross-Class battleship "Wavemaster" as an unofficial peacekeeping force. With nothing to your names but a shaky non-aggression pact and your own machines, you seek to bring order to a world gone mad. Whether you succeed or fail, only time will tell.

So the basic idea for this is a crossover mecha game set in your run-of-the-mill mashup Super Robot Wars setting. Essentially, the story will follow the party's attempts to bring a shattered world back from the brink of destruction and all that by beating up a bunch of supervillains and their gimmicky giant robots and maybe also a couple of gods since that's the fashion these days, I haven't really decided yet. The enemies will be a mix of OGs and preexisting characters from various robot media and maybe some giant robots from non-giant robot media too like Buster Baron or something.

This game is going to be pretty heavy on combat, so we'll have a system in place to mediate fights and make sure all characters are on roughly the same powerscale. The system in question is really flexible and can build pretty much any mech you could want, so don't worry too much. Both OGs and preexisting characters will be accepted- if it has a robot (or is a robot, in the case of Transformers/Braves/Dolores) and you can build it legally, it's kosher. Do your best to keep them relatively heroic, though. Dr. Rando fighting for love and justice would be weird.

Any takers?

EDIT: Sorry, I guess I wasn't very clear. This is a mashup setting where no given franchise is going to take center stage. The Dark Cybertron bit is only a justification for why the setting exists to start with. The things I am confident this system can emulate include Overmen, Gundams, Labors, Heroman, Mortar Headds, Mazinger derivatives, Getter derivatives, Variable Fighters, Bigs, Labors, Boomers, Glitter Boys, Battlemechs, Glongur, really whatever you want as long as it's not something completely silly overpowered like Elder God Demonbane. No need to hold back, so just play what you like.
Okay, but how does it work and on what moral/legal systems?
Like, what's a "crime", here?

Meanwhile, at the Fuji post office, a cardboard box in the recent arrivals tore itself open to reveal a tiny girl, less than a hand's span in height. Around her neck she wore a measuring tape, and across her hip lay a sewing needle. Upon her back she carried a plain brown shoebox, packed full near to bursting and all tied up with string. She passed an arm through each loop, wearing the thing like a great big backpack. The box was easily twice her height, and the overall effect made her seem even smaller than she really was.

Hopping down from the pile and, leaving behind a crumpled note explaining what had happened, she strolled out past the front desk. She turned smartly to inform the clerk of what had happened, but he seemed to be napping. He'd probably had a hard night, and the matron had always taught Layla to never deny a person in need. Did being sleepy count as a "need"? Well, he probably had his reasons, and far be it from Layla to tread on them.

Strolling out the front door, Layla flung her arms wide and took in the mountain air, the bitter cold, the proud peak of Mount Fuji dominating the skyline...

Wait.

Wasn't she supposed to be on Mount Fuji?

Layla wheeled around, craning her neck to see the sign above the entrance. There were some moon runes, and then underneath:

FUJI MUNICIPAL POST OFFICE

"Wasn't it supposed to be 'Fujisan-Cho'?", Layla wondered aloud. She looked over at an adjacent sign bolted to the wall, covered in a variety of foreign languages she had no means to understand. Oh, and English.

BE AWARE THAT FUJISAN-CHO POST OFFICE IS NOT A VALID MAILING ADDRESS AND LETTERS ADDRESSED AS SUCH WILL BE RECEIVED HERE.

Layla squinted at the sign, turned on her heels, glared at Mount Fuji, spun around again, and then looked at the sign a final time. She folded her arms and kicked the ground.

"Aw, son of a bitch.", she muttered to nobody in particular.
@Letter Bee
Personally I'd like to keep the OOC in the OOC where everyone can see and participate.

Also, could you explain the mechanics of how Presumption of Innocence works when you have time? For example, is it legal or moral crime, and if so, under what legal/philosophical system? Is it only crimes acted upon, or does thoughtcrime count? I ask because when I read through I noticed some weird hiccups like Akasha triggering despite having zero ill intent and how Nico doesn't seem to ping no matter what he thinks but Alice does? Also the lingering scents, thing. Does that mean he can track people by crimefart or something?

It's all very confusing to me, is all.
