[Incoming call: Operative code name "Rho (ρ)"]
"Agent?"
"Yes, it's me. The line is secure as well."
"Excellent. And?"
"It seems your data was correct. The area is emitting very weak traces of a shift. Someone from the future likely sent something to our time"
"That must be it. Scour the area and find the source. Do whatever it takes to secure it."
"Whatever it takes?"
"I don't repeat myself to someone of your rank. Get to it, I expect results. Or is the task more suited to one of the upper letters?"
"Of course not. Rest assured, I will find it."

The period bell had just rung, and in a matter of seconds the hallways of Wilson High were flooded with students scrambling to find their lockers and make it to their next class. Wilson High is a rather small school, consisting of two floors of classrooms arranged in a rectangle stacked on top of each other. On the first floor, the southern most hallway running east to west extends in either direction. To the west is a large gymnasium, where students attend PE class and have access to outdoor exercise stations next to the running track. To the east is a corridor that turns further south and gives way to a large lobby. The lobby is lined with multiple doors leading to the school auditorium. There is a set of hallways that surround the auditorium as well, and these lead to the music and art classrooms as well as backstage. The northern most hallway on the first floor leads east toward the cafeteria, which is connected to an outdoor courtyard containing several picnic tables and a small pond shaded by an equally quaint tree.
A rather average looking man stepped outside of a classroom near the cafeteria, scanning the hallway for someone or something. Finally he found it: Kirin Lahnt, a senior student who was well known among the faculty as "the uninspired genius" due to a habit of acing tests without doing homework, usually resulting in a barely passing grade for their classes.
"Kirin! Come over here, I'd like to speak to you for a moment!" the man called out, hoping to gain the young man's attention over the noise and bantering of confused high school students.
