to be fair RTW was way better than RTW2, up until like the last DLC when they finally fixed everything. Everything but the squalor -- my god, so much squalor.

Idunno if fire arrows were anti-cav in Rome 1, mainly because I mostly played the Europa Barbarosa mod and that changed like every mechanic in the game right down to the map. EB went all the way to India and they brought in Timurids, which was basically the full Attila experience like a decade before Attila happened.

to truly experience total war, you have to play multiplayer. the skill level and learning curve is much steeper when playing online than playing campaign. after playing online for a year, i realized how easy campaign was, how stupid the computer moves and how easy it was to take advantage of them

i don't know dlc means or what eb means

but very few players play rtw online anymore. there are some clannies and the rest are noobs. gameranger and steam is where they all are

do you like the music of rtw?
flaming arrows are anti-horse?
I did not know
me, who played rtw for 4 years, does not know this

<Snipped quote by MeredithMartin>

flaming arrows murderize horses. It is known.

Talking Attila though. Phracts were kings in Rome. In Attila, nothing rewards good micro better than a Hun skirmishing army with a few Lancers playing cleanup.

i stayed with rtw even when rtw2 came out. i don't play it as much anymore tho
actually, i never played barbarian invasion so i don't know haha
cata defense too high for archers, unless your missiles are armor piercing which they are not
g/g cataphracts ftw
Granted. But there comes a hit show about a guy who worships chicken and now all the children who watch that show also worship a chicken who they call god.

I want to die.
