Affiliation: S.H.I.E.L.D (And the Avengers in the future?)
Character Origin and Backstory:
Pietro and his twin sister Wanda were born to Sokovian business moguls Gregor and Daria Maximoff under stressful circumstances. Their delivery, due to mistakes on the doctor's part, led to their lives being in critical danger when they were just hours old. Renowned surgeon and scientist Von Strucker approached them shortly before the babies were expected to die, offering a miracle solution in return for an undisclosed sum of money (rest assured, it was ridiculously large) and custody of the children should anything happen to the Maximoffs. Daria was suspicious and reluctant, but the urgency of the situation made the couple capitulate and the children's lives were saved.
Up until the age of eleven, the twins had a happy, healthy and luxurious life. Pietro was an inquisitive boy, interested in tinkering and taking things apart. He worked on small robots and programming, having access to the knowledge of world class researchers and developers in the related fields. Wanda was his protector, sharper and intimidating even at a younger age, and already priming herself for the rule of their parents empire once she was eighteen. The only person who received her softer side was her beloved Pietro. The two of them were closer than anything, and it was to each other they clung at their father's funeral. Doctors had declared his death to be due to heart failure, but after his passing, their mother became paranoid. Giving up temporary control of their business, she went into hiding with the children. They lived in a small cabin deep within the Sokovian forest until one day, about a year later, she died of pneumonia.
Shortly after, the children met Von Strucker. He introduced himself as a distant uncle, estranged from their mother but eager to take care of his beloved sister's children. However, the fact that their meeting took place after they had been snatched from their cabin in the dead of night did little to inspire trust. For years, Von Strucker took relatively good care of them, but their loyalty remained exclusive to each other. From the age of fifteen, Von Strucker started doing certain medical tests on them. When they turned seventeen, the nightmare began. They were subjected to awful and excruciating experiments that left them mentally scarred over the course of six months. At the end, they had barely survived. Pietro discovered his super speed, but Wanda was left comatose for months afterward. He recuperated while she remained unconscious, and in that time his anger and hatred of Von Strucker grew. Once he was in good physical shape, he was put through all sorts of tests by Von Strucker to determine the extent and nature of his abilities. Many were gruelling, but nothing compared to what had made him. To this day, Pietro is even mildly grateful for the tests, as they were how he discovered most of his skills. Wanda woke up some months later to find their roles reversed. Irreversibly physically weakened by her transformation,Pietro was now her protector. One night, after particularly painful tests had been conducted on Wanda, Pietro killed Von Strucker and the two of them escaped from his lair. Not so much a lair as a grand castle in the mountains where none ventured, but the name remains nonetheless.
Wanda intended to take over their parents' company, but all records of their existence had been destroyed and there was no proof with which she could do so. Instead, the two of them moved to New York. Pietro committed minor crimes in the name of making a living for him and his sister, but the unusual nature of the crimes brought them to the attention of S.H.I.E.L.D., who contacted them in much the same way Von Strucker did. In return for a comfortable living and the kind of clothing that could stand up to Pietro's stop speeds, they performed peacekeeping duties for shield under the names of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. They usually worked together, but on the only occasion they didn't, Wanda was killed on duty in Asia. Pietro, distraught and furious, blamed S.H.I.E.L.D. for their negligence and severed ties with them. He's still on their radar, and has reverted back to his mildly criminal life after tracking down the killers of his sister and eliminating them. Right now, he's a man without a mission. He lives in an unofficially unoccupied penthouse, where he works on his technical pursuits, and occasionally his sexual ones as well. Rarely, though.
Abilities: Pietro moves and thinks multiple times faster than any human. Currently he moves about five times faster than the speed of sound at his top speed. Experiments he's conducted on himself have enabled him to resist effects of friction, oxygen deprivation, and sudden impacts at high speeds. This also means that he's stronger and far more resistant that the average human. Time seems to go much more slowly for him, resulting in extremely quick reflexes and his impatient and abrasive personality. At high speeds, it even seems to stop, affording him immense advantages in his fights. Although not gifted, he's a highly competent programmer, and has made himself an expert on genetics and physics.
Story Arc 1: Eventually goes back into active service with S.H.I.E.L.D, but discovers that his abilities are deteriorating and taking him with them. Becomes a sort of quest to stay alive, with or without his powers.
Story Arc 2: Decides that Wanda would have wanted more for him, tries to become a hero. Here he would be a possible founder of the Avengers, trying to save the world from evil in general with his sister as a motive.
Story Arc 3: Pursuing his scientific side more, he comes up with an efficient way to reverse DNA damage and restore it. Deciding that heroes are more curse than cure, he takes it upon himself to get rid of the worst offenders. Target one: The Hulk.
Sample Post: Pietro stood in front of the flat screen TV, watching part of New York City be destroyed by Bruce Banner. Or the Hulk, more accurately, although he didn't see much point in distinguishing between the two. He'd considered for a moment going to join the two figures who had eventually managed to subdue him, although his motivation was just the desire for a fight. He could hear Wanda telling him to do something with himself, anything other than what he was currently doing, which was nothing. He didn't need to work to keep his luxurious penthouse- S.H.I.E.L.D. had that covered, electricity bills, damages and all. He had no desire to stop old ladies being mugged or to carry out missions as he once had. No, it was much easier to do nothing. Staring at the TV, he recognized Loki, but didn't understand presence the feminine Thor or the small Hispanic girl who fought with her. To focus on them, they seemed rather heroic, but all Pietro could notice was the destruction that only worsened as the woman Thor focused her attentions on Loki with a look of fury. He hit his forehead in disbelief as they crashed into an office building. People were most likely in there, not that concern had been shown.
Sighing, he turned the TV off and turned to face the rest of his cluttered apartment. Surfaces. Surfaces everywhere. He had desks nearly everywhere, with different computers on each and papers nearly drowning them. He'd gotten rid of the bed in his room months ago, needing space for yet another table and another computer. He'd set up a holographic one in the second living room, and connected it to all the others. Some of the computers had work that was months old, and as such, obsolete and completely wrong.
Other: I can't add pictures at the moment because internet issues but for appearance reference Quicksilver from Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Demon Name/Title: Adramelech/ The First Sibling, The Crown Prince, The Silver Tongue Age: 17 Prominent Ability: Inspiring envy, lust and greed in others, the kind that turns people into the basest, most cutthroat version of themselves. <- His effect on people. In Hell, his leadership skills mean that he has innate and absolute control over nearly every creature/monster, and is prepared to assume control of the armies of Hell. His persuasive language also exerts considerable influence among lower demons, but not on his family. He prefers subterfuge and underhanded methods to open combat, but is competent with most weapons. He has the base abilities of all demons- stronger and faster than the best human. Brief Background: As the oldest of the siblings, he has always been expected to know the most and to be the best. He's been satisfactory so far- never too much encouragement from the Devil. He never really got in trouble growing up, keeping a flawless profile even from a young age. He has a less flashy modus operandi, understanding the darker side of human nature very well. He prefers to tempts them in the most pleasant ways, or in ways they don't notice. Assuring them they're in the right, he's noticed, works best. Despite this knowledge, and previous brief trips to the human world, he isn't entirely conversant with their ways and has proceeded to learn. Traits: +Protective of his siblings - As the de facto leader, he views his siblings as his responsibility. They are they only people he feels any loyalty to, and he considers the fact he has to kill them negligible for now. +Persuasive - A smooth talker, he's good at flattery, and bringing people's desires to light, as well as convincing them of almost anything. +Fast Learner - He's a voracious learner, reading a lot of human literature, and quickly assimilating himself into their society. He picks up most skills very quickly. At the moment he's discovering human music, and is rather confused by the cacophony that is Justin Bieber. He likes Jazz, though, and rock music. He gets music from iTunes and is yet to discover the rest of the Internet. -Condescending - A side effect of his leadership role and status as the eldest means that he tends to talk down to others. He's smart, but too aware of this, which works against him. The only time he isn't condescending is when he's being persuasive, or when it's part of a larger plan. -Selfish - He isn't willing to share the things or people he believes are his. He's suspicious of anyone who gets close to his siblings. -Power hungry - Groomed to be a leader, Adramelech is prepared to rule over absolutely everything. He's reluctant to relinquish control of any situation, and considers no price too high for rule of Hell.
She usually wears a long dark red tshirt with short sleeves and black leggings with sneakers, and is never seen without her white beanie.
Traits +Active. Akane is an energetic, fidgety girl. She loves virtually every sport and is particularly good at soccer. Her favourite means of getting around is her skateboard. +Funny. Akane cracks jokes all the time and loves to laugh. +Sharp. Not exactly book smart, Akane is good at reading people and situations, and has a good eye for detail. -Blunt to the point of rudeness. She's brutally honest without meaning to be, lacking a mental filter. -Lazy. She dislikes putting in effort, especially in school. She doesn't consider sports as requiring effort. -Forgetful. She's constantly forgetting where she puts things or things she's supposed to do. She's also notoriously bad with names.
Background: Akane is a normal child with a normal family. She's the middle child, with an older sister in college and a younger sister one year away from high school. She had a fun childhood, always encouraged to do the things she liked and do them well. She's adored by her parents, being the proverbial last born who gets attention. She's very playful, loves to be the centre of attention, and loves to act. Her mother is encouraging with regards to her acting, hoping Akane will follow in her footsteps and join the theatre. Her father, although fond of her, desperately awaits the day when she sits up and becomes a serious student. She's heard the new boy in her class is particularly smart, though, and hopes that maybe he can help her out in school. Plus, he looks like he needs some Akane in his life ^~^ *she dances* It'll be a win win, or so she thinks.
No. Owl is smart in his own way, no one can tell him otherwise.
@NyxNyghtmare Fight scenes can be hard to write, so I vote we give a set period to have it up (four days to a week?), or GM and Co can pick a random victor and we move on? Except I understand some people have finals and the like. But this could be a compromise. Or if a pair don't have time to work on a collab within the set time they just decide who wins and lets the GMs know so we continue. They can share their awesome fight scene with us whenever they have time. :D Is that more acceptable for everyone?
