Your timing truly couldn't be worse. I had to leave a family dinner for this occasion, just so you know.
*Squints*
Hold on, I recognize you. Aren’t we all on the same side, here?

*Narrows my eyes and speaks calmly as I slowly turn around and take in the now-changing environment*
No... No they are not.
*The flame wall in front of us calmly narrows in front of us from either side until it forms more of a focused pillar of flame jetting into the sky from beneath the earth, while the wisps from the cracks in the ground elsewhere begin to bend and coalesce to the pillar as well*
<Snipped quote by Meta>
*The casting of intense light down into the crevices partially reveals more earth, but it also meets resistance in the form of the darkness itself being the actual color of a steadily burning black flame beneath in the ground, emitting no light and previously camouflaged by the darkness above it*
While I really don't like the idea of disturbing the grounds of a graveyard...
*The flames suddenly surge in opposition to the light touching it, flaring up and quickly exploding up out of the ground into a massive wall of dark fire as a reaction*
<Snipped quote by Meta>
That would be very appreciated, if the world could do us that favor.
*Even the larger ones are pretty tight with barely enough space to fit an arm into, and they get too dark to see at a point very near the surface*
<Snipped quote by Meta>
Always is, I'd say.

Maelstrom- and Ridge of course- are both the sort that could conjure up just about anything they'd want on a whim. A true reality manipulator. So it is quite literally impossible to rule anything out.
<Snipped quote by Meta>
I was incredibly young, so it's hard to remember every detail. But besides the obvious things, like the live fires that have since died away and the last signs of chaos before everything inevitably went silent, I don't for the life of me recall anything happening that would be a source for this in particular.
*Walks in the direction of, but not terribly close to, the nearest crack in the ground from which the ethereal dark smoke is incessantly rising from*
<Snipped quote by Meta>
Unfortunately so.

In regards to how time flows here, I think it just recently passed the twenty year mark.
<Snipped quote by Memory>
And a bit more instant as well.
<Snipped quote by Meta>
*Takes a few slow steps through the dirt, walking between the petrified remains of a woman posed as though she were running and a man on his back as though he were crawling away from something he was looking at. I look out over a swath of mostly flat land into the horizon*
It's hard to believe the place can remain so unnatural for so long after.
