So has anyone else ever spent several hours on an RP, reviewed it, posted it, and then thought “This is garbage.”?

Once my drawing and sketching abilities improve a little more, I intend to start incorporating my own art into future RP’s of mine.

<Snipped quote by Mister Thirteen>Alien Robot

The robot part, not so much. The alien bit is fine though. I assume your
talking about a two-armed two-legged humanoid alien right? As long as you remain within those basic parameters your fine. I suppose I can allow a modest cybernetic enhancement though. Titanium lined bones, an advanced eye placement with infrared and NVG, perhaps a zoom lens.
Do the characters have to be human?

I’m still debating on that.
While a diversity of races would be nice, I feel like people might abuse the whole “create your own alien character” thing.

The last time I created a sci-fi RP and allowed creation of unique alien races, people either flat-out ignored the given guidelines or found a “loophole”. I made it clear that all alien races must be humanoid, and rather “humanistic”, no hive minds, no telepathic powers, nothing like that.
Needless to say it didn’t go well st all, seeing as how virtually every player either disregarded the rules or tried to sell me an excuse for getting their way basically.

My point; if it can be guaranteed that players won’t go crazy with creating alien races, I would allow it.

Did you have something specific in mind?
So, recently, I have been (mentally) juggling around the idea of a Roleplay about a force of “space police”. Players will create their own unique character who is a member of this interstellar police force and embark on missions of peacekeeping and security. The setting is in a particularly newly explored star system that is mostly mining colonies and small settlements, and is rife with piracy, smuggling, and the occasional alien encroachment.

If your somewhat interested so far, continue reading below;

BASIC PREMISE: Set in a fictional universe, in the year 2610, the RP focuses around a particularly unstable star system recently explored and settled by the Aqualean (Ack•aye•lee•anne) Union. The system is predominantly composed of planetoids and asteroid belts, however does host several terran and desert worlds. As said, most of the system currently consists of mining colonies, trade posts, and small settlements, be they planetary or orbital.
The system has a heavy presence of pirates, smugglers, and other criminals.
Not to mention occasional raids from aliens in adjacent systems.

The Enforcers, a para-military policing corps, which also act as the protectorate force of the Union, find themselves spread thin and occasionally outmatched by the heavy brigand and alien presence.
In response to this, the Supreme Chancellor of the Union creates an elite
policing force solely based in this system (still working on a name) to ensure security and peace.

PLAYERS: As stated, players will create their own unique character who is a acting member of this force. They will protect convoys, clean up pirate dens, and answer urgent distress calls. When not out on missions, players will basically train or “hang around” the headquarters, adding a slight pub or academy aspect.

So, that’s the basic rundown. I’m hoping to go somewhere with this, so hopefully some of you find this appealing or at least a possibility.
I realize it’s a bit patchy at this moment, but as the title says, this is more of a concept that I’ve put forth and hope to gather interest in.
I plan to collab with those interested and go more in-depth with this.

So, if your interested, just drop in!
Thomas, Aleera, and Dalton remained behind. Thomas still leaned over the balcony edge, staring with hopeless fury down below, toward the streets thousands of feet down. Aleera simply stood frozen in place, her fists still clenched in rage at her side, her vampiric eyes orbs of crimson hate in the darkness of night. Dalton stood back closer by the door, staring inside towards the elevator on the far side of the ball room.

“If only you’d killed him quicker.” Thomas said suddenly, looking around slightly to Aleera.

Aleera, taken aback by this sudden accusatory statement, responded snidely and indignantly,”How dare you!? It wasn’t my fault! That little wench distracted me, both of them!La peu chiennes!Zut!

“Calm down.” Insisted Dalton from the doorway, looking back to Aleera.

Aleera whirled around, snapping at Dalton,”Shut up, chien!Stupide idiot!

“Watch your mouth, Miss Frenchie!” Dalton snapped back, his temper beginning to boil.

Both of you shut your mouths.” Thomas snarled, shoving back from the balcony and turning to face them both, his face dangerously darkened compared to before. Aleera and Dalton both quieted down and turned to face him.
“We need to get out of here,”Thomas insisted,”now.”

“Mph!...Your right.” Aleera acknowledged.
The three of them collected their masks, stuffing them away in their coats, or in Aleera’s case, up the puffy sleeve of her dress.

“What about all the blood?” Asked Dalton.
“They’ll never identify it, none of us are on record.” Thomas said sharply.
He didn’t like it, he had never left such a sloppy trace behind, none of them had. But they hadn’t time to try and clean up, they had to leave immediately before the police arrived. They would just have to be more careful in the future and avoid leaving DNA evidence behind.

“Let’s go.” Thomas said.
If I don’t get a post up tonight @LadyRunic, I’ll have one up tomorrow morning. Guaranteed.
Just checking in to see how you're doing man.

I’m back from probably the looongest hiatus I’ve EVER been on.

I think I should begin by apologizing. This little absence of mine was due to a broken tablet and having to wait till payday to replace it.
I apologize for how ragged my posts have been lately. Real life is hitting me as well, though not for the best. I’m coping however. I’ll have a post up later today.
The Baron nodded in understanding, as did Cromley, though a little too eagerly, as he suppressed a slight smile that quirked against the wrinkled corners of his mouth. The Baron shifted in his seat as Cecilia asked her next question. He gave his white beard a short scratch and then responded in turn.
“The meeting, Your Highness, will be at Castle Galladorn, several leagues to the northwest of Rosaldia. Duke Henry Beldingford is a close friend of mine, and rules from the castle. I truly believe he will support our cause. He and the grand majority of his men and subjects supported your father, and hold a great dislike for Malva. When he learns that your with us and of our intentions, I know he’ll join us.”

“Don’t forget to tell her about the other two.” Cromley chimed in.

“Of course,” the Baron retorted,”Lord Timofey Pennington of my city Rosaldia, and General Erik of Westmere. They too will be at the meeting.”

“Lord Pennington is a senior member of the Merchant’s Guild, and a close business partner of mine.” Cromley stated.

The Alvion Merchant’s Guild was the dominating force of Alvion’s economy. While their headquarters was in Rosaldia, they had branches and extensions in every major city in Alvion, as well as in certain large towns as well. Members of the guild were well-connected, extremely wealthy, and astute businessmen. The Merchant’s Guild has monopolies on both the shipping industry and cross-country trade in Alvion. Out of every five merchant ships or trade caravans, four of them are tied to the Merchant’s Guild. The guild also has connections and ties to several notable lords and politicians across the kingdom. Several of Malva’s top financial supporters in fact were senior members of the guild themselves. Needless to say, an inside man on the Merchant’s Guild would prove to be a fine asset.

“Lord Pennington is no supporter of Malva,” Baron Monticourt said,”he doesn’t lick her feet nor does he attend her son Malcom’s lavish parties and balls. He in fact spoke out against her a time or two when she first rose to power. So it’s no surprise he’s on the outs with her.”

“Malva’s supporters have been trying to ruin him for years,” Cromley said,”the only thing that’s saved him is his own connections and wealth, not to mention his wit. He’ll make a fine addition to our coalition, M’Lady.”

“And then there’s General Erik of Westmere,” Monticourt said,”a capable soldier and a fine strategist. He too was loyal to King William, and I’m sure he’ll also support your claim to the throne. With these three men part of the Loyalist fold, we’ll have the assets we need to make our first real move against Malva. We’re to meet them all at Castle Galladorn in one week, Your Highness.”
Cromley’s Mouth slightly parted, a small jibbery noise slipping from his throat, as he was caught off guard by Cecilia’s blunt rejection toward his mercenary aid. While not angered or upset, he was slightly confused. Surely she realized that she would need more than the protection of a single knight! Not to mention an army on hand if some immediate danger were to rise anytime soon. He opened his mouth to speak when Baron Monticourt abruptly raised his right hand toward Cromley, indicating silence, which resulted in an indignant stare from Cromley at Monticourt.

The Baron gave Cromley a warning expression, causing Cromley to shrink back like a turtle into it’s shell. Monticourt then turned to Cecilia with a softened expression, saying,”Your Highness, I understand your feelings regarding aid from mercenaries. I myself aren’t very keen on sellswords. But still, though honorless and strictly driven by money, we are still in need of some kind of protectorate military force. Capable as he is, I doubt Sir Harper here could protect you against an entire platoon of Malva’s men come to arrest you.”

Harper gave a sideways grin at no one in particular, his bleach mustache arching slightly.
Monticourt continued,”I understand, a true ruler wishes to be backed by loyalty, not those out for their own gain. But Your Highness, right now you just haven’t the adequate following for such a leisure. We would have to gain more support.”

Monticourt paused for a minute, in which Cromley took advantage to speak once more, though his tone was rather submissive compared to earlier,”You wouldn’t have to rely on them for long, M’Lady, just long enough until we secured further support. And they’d never have to know who you were. They’re the type to not ask questions, so they wouldn’t know anything, as we wouldn’t tell them.”

The Baron gave a slight nod and concluded,”Ultimately though, it’s up to you Your Ladyship. If you truly don’t want this, the mercenaries I mean, then we’ll close the book on it and forget it. Though personally, I would recommend it. But, it’s your decision.”

Cromley gave a rather hesitant nod, while Harper simply raised his eyebrows and turned his gaze rather casually across the room.

So, lately I’ve been considering the concept for an Elder Scrolls Roleplay. Initially, I had considered one centered around the Skyrim Civil War. However, this was discouraged when someone stated to me that people would be more focused on debating who was right between the Empire and Stormcloaks, rather than actually carrying out the story. Putting it bluntly, I felt like within one week of its creation, the IC count would be at maybe 10 posts, and the OOC count would be pushing nearly forty to fifty posts of debate.
So I squashed that idea.

Then I thought, “Hey, what about the Great War between the Empire and the Aldmeri Dominion...”
And so here we are.

_______________________________________________________________________

In this Roleplay, players will create a single character. While there will be diversity, there will also be restrictions. Let me firstly clarify that all characters will mandatorily be members of the Imperial Legion. No negotiation, no sob stories, no complaints.
The whole theme of this Roleplay will be following the untold stories of the soldiers of the Legion in the war against the Thalmor. Players will create their own custom character, a recently sworn in Legion soldier, and live out the bloodiest battles of the Great War.

Right now, I’m primarily focused on gathering interest and assembling a collective of people interested in this concept.
We can then begin discussing more in-depth details and plot-arcs such as what battles to act out, character development events, if we should introduce thick amounts of canon material and characters or not, and so on.

Down below I’ve listed several need-to-know bits and links to lore for those who aren’t too well versed in the Great War.

So then, if you like this concept and would possibly be interested in partaking, just drop on in! I’ll be waiting!
