So has anyone else ever spent several hours on an RP, reviewed it, posted it, and then thought “This is garbage.”?

Once my drawing and sketching abilities improve a little more, I intend to start incorporating my own art into future RP’s of mine.

You are a lone traveler traversing the cold wilderness in the evening hours. The bitter winds and freezing snow are getting the better of you. You find yourself relieved as you chance upon an inn, the Shroud Hearth, out in this frozen woodland. You eagerly hurry up the front steps of the inn and madly shove the door open, desperate for sanctuary against the merciless cold.

Unknown to you, by entering this mysterious, secluded inn, you have thrust yourself into a nightmare. You will find that there is far more to this inn than meets the eye. As a turbulent blizzard arrives and you and the other patrons find yourselves snowed in, you realize that the only way to escape this horror is to survive it.

OVERVIEW

So as you see, this is a horror-mystery RP set within a basic fantasy realm. More specifically; in a northern woodland known for its’ treacherous snow storms and unforgiving wintery conditions. Our protagonist (my partner) is a lone traveler heading eastward through the forest for whatever reason, and soon finds themself at the mercy of the elements. Naturally of course, they do not hesitate to enter into the Shroud Heart Inn for shelter, unaware of what they are walking in to.

As stated, my partner plays the role of the lone traveler who stumbles upon the inn. Your character can be male or female and one of two races. (Human or Wood Elf)
While of course your character is allowed to have combat prowess and experience, I ask that you not make them a godmoddish “hero of legends”. A simple adventurer or travelled traversing the wilderness is where I would like to keep it.
This being said, I wait eagerly for a response. Below you will find a cast of immediate characters and a “About Me” section. (Ensure that you read both!)

IMMEDIATE CHARACTER CAST

ABOUT ME
The door to the apartment suddenly opened with a slight creak, and in stepped Liza. She had been out shopping and had a pair of plastic bags in her right hand. She wore a black sweatshirt and a pair of skinny jeans, her hair hung loosely as usual. She reached around with her left hand and pulled the key from the slot, and then pushed the door shut with a click, turning the lock. “Thank God for twenty-four hour malls.” she said as she placed both bags on the counter.

It was nighttime, the clock near the bed stating the time at 5:23 a.m.
Liza placed the apartment key on the night table and spoke to Alice, “Hey, feelin’ better? Actually don’t answer that. Look-I got you something.”
Liza reached into one of the bags and took out a thick sketch pad and a sketching set. The sketchbook had eighty pages and the sketching set had four pencils, an eraser, two sticks of charcoal, an ink pen, a small plastic sharpener for the pencils.

Liza extended the supplies to Alice and said,”Here ya’ go. I can take them back if they don’t suit, no hard feelings.” she said with a joking smirk.
I’m finally back at it with consistency. I apologize. That recent blitz of exams and CINS simulations forced my hand with my occupation.

Also; we haven’t seen the inquisitors much of late. I’m thinking in this episode maybe we could sneak one in.? Just one.

The she-demon had merely shrugged off Delilah's feeble kick, though it had given Delilah time to distance herself of course.
The horrid creature turned and let out an ear-splitting screech, the piercing sound suddenly shattering the glass on the cabinets around the foyer and causing the candle chandelier to fall from it's hitch. It landed hard on the floor and broke apart, the candles rolled speedily across the tile floor. The banshee creature made a chilling growl, that of a great cat, from within the bowls of her throat and swept after Delilah.

There were only four present options to Delilah; the front door, which was locked queerly, the book room, a dead end, the door to the dining room, closed and untested, or back upstairs. The raging demon spared Delilah not a minute as she literally glided a foot off of the ground in the air, her clammy gray feet hanging limply from her ragged nightgown.

I'm afraid it'll be another week before I get a reply up. I write off of and iPad and my data is nearly out until net Wednesday.
Don't worry I'm still interested, I've just hit a minor speed bump. I apologize for breaking my initial word. :( @BoyMom69035
@Mister Thirteen That could work!

Right, I'll have a response up later today. Sorry, school is working a number on my availability.
@Mister Thirteen

<Snipped quote>

It happens and we'll all guilty of it at some point or another, so no worries! I hope I didn't sound too harsh.

As for the drab apartment scene. Alice needs to get out of it and most likely embroiled in bigger things especially if Liam is being so persistent. As for things I have a few things to point out. Liam knows Alice greatly desires her shop back, so does Aleera. Aleera knows Alice would do almost anything for that, include lure Liam. So perhaps you could do something with that. While Liza may not be aware. Alice knows politics to a degree as her family while not embroiled in them was embroiled in social acrobatics with business parties and such. Aka: Really high end family that tried to make Alice follow that same life. Something she never wanted to be a part of. Perhaps we could do something with that.

As for getting her out of the apartment. She needs it. For her own health she needs it. Perhaps Liza could drag her out to the bar in an attempt?

Say, what if she and Dalton met at the bar?
By meet I mean that he walks in coincidentally the same time that she is there.
Liza takes her to work again, hopefully to dissuade her from leaving, and to help her unwind and not be alone while Liza is away.
@Mister Thirteen I'm not sure what to do to be honest. Alice fighting isn't really something she does, so from the get-go she will suck at it and improvement won't be "Wow! You're a natural.". She sucks and that's the long and short of it. She is limited with what she can do, to the point I'm stumped. My apologies, but it's rather irritating.

I get why Liza ripped the letter up and everything, but I'm also not going to lie. It feels like I'm being funneled into playing a certain role. Which I'm not strictly against, but it is difficult when you're worried about stepping on toes. I mean, Alice is trapped in an apartment all the time. She doesn't feel comfortable going out. Learning to spar and fight would be very hard for her. Essentially Alice will be taking a nose dive in the 'happy' department.

Hmmm, I do get that. Thank you for voicing said concern.

Alright, point blank: what do you want to do? Just tell me what you envision for Alice and we can certainly set that up. I'm rather tired of the drab apartment scene myself. I would like to see a change in setting and plot line. I'm serious when I say this, no sarcasm or jokes, what would you like? Let it fly.

And I apologize if I've slipped, or belly-flopped, into a dictating position. A thousand pardons I beg.

The front door was in fact to the right. It was a simple pinewood door with a rather rusty copper colored doorknob. Unfortunately the door itself was locked. Oddly enough, there was no latch, button lock, or chain on the door, despite being the inside of the door.

The weeping girl from the book room now stood behind Delilah, having followed her into the small entry hall. Her hair was parted from her face, and the small amount of light from above revealed a sight from a nightmare.

I’ll have my character up in a day or two. I’ll role as a either a Sapper or Rifleman.
