TFW you realize your SW character somehow turned into an anime character. I didn't even use an anime avatar. Damn you Japan! Freaking brainwashed me.

That's good to know! :) I have literally had a thread GM who MADE you describe the clothing you were wearing, or else had everybody else treat you as if you were completely nude. I'm used to super-realism (which isn't saying I like it).
As Lin reached for a proper tray, the door to the outside opened once more and a cloudlike thing swirled in. Lin dropped the empty tray, startled, putting her half-covered fists up by her face in a defensive posture. She didn't relax her guard one bit even as the cloud was followed by a teenage guy who was hurriedly chasing the cloud. Lin sprang backward in surprise as the shadowy cloud coalesced into a squat, vaguely human-like shape with a smoky tail. The shape reached for a tray and Lin's mouth opened in a perfect "O".

Her brain almost didn't register the newcomer greeting Ivy and Kyle. When he turned to her, her brain blanked. ""You either must be new here or I didn't see you at all at the activities yesterday, regardless. The name's James, nice to meet you. And that's Neric, he's my Void." Lin nodded at him absently, still eyeing the...was that a monkey?...as it filled a plate like any human might. Finding her voice, "Is...is he from...he's not from around here, is he? Where...." she began. Recovering some of her composure, her voice abruptly resumed its normal cadence. "So uhh...Lord Neric, mind telling me where you're from? And maybe how many OTHER worlds there are apart from yours? Do I have to worry about being abducted?" She didn't realize how fast she was talking, though by Ivy's standards, she was probably still very understandable.

She slowly shook her head, tangly blond mane rippling as she did so. Picking up her tray from the floor, she tried to sedately load it with bacon, scrambled eggs, and three medium-sized pancakes. Her hand reached for a fork and she realized that her hand was actually shaking. Huh, Earth is not alone, the thought had been fluttering at the edge of her consciousness ever since she'd heard the boy's, what was his name, James's? cool explanation.

Her tray full, she turned back to James, still visibly shaken. Putting a smile on, "Sorry Jay....mes?" said she. She'd been about to leave it at "Jay" before her subconsciousness reminded her not to make up nicknames for people. Brushing a lock of her mane behind one ear, "That's an interesting power you have there! He doesn't...possess people, does he? Sorry, I've never met anyone else with powers before who wasnn't fictional and written inside a Marvel comic." The full-bodied laugh didn't do nearly enough to hide her nervousness.

Yes, @KatherinWinter Lin did consume the entire regular-sized muffin in three bites. She has a voracious appetite. I should've remembered to include that in her bio. :P

EDIT: Is it good etiquette if I write "Lin picked up a muffin" as "Lin attempted to pick up a muffin"? I mean, in case you -as the GM- wanted to have her choke or drop it or something? Technically what I did was a godmod of an inanimate object that may or may not exist. I just want to make sure what I wrote and how I wrote it was OK by your GM standards. (Your "A frustrated GM" bit makes me wonder what your pet peeves are and if writing something like eating a muffin with 100% chance of completion is one of them. ;/ )
As soon as the new boy entered the picture, Lin felt her hand begin to heat up from where it rested on Ivy's shoulder. Not wanting to feel like the other girl had scared her off, Lin gently extricated the offended limb, silently massaging her slightly burnt fingertips afterward. "Well," she ventured a bit more carefully. "I know your name's not Speedy, Ivy. My bad! I like to make nicknames for people. You know, Ivy, the plant you're named after has some varieties that grow about as fast as you move. You'd make a small fortune using your fire to kill off kudzu in the southern states. It's a vine that twists, almost "bounces" around people and never backs down an inch." The grin on her face kept growing as she said this, the laughter getting harder to repress.

Spying the buffet table across the hall that Ivy mentioned, Lin swaggered over to it, suavely taking advantage of the distraction. She removed the fingertip covers of her black gloves so that she could properly grab hold of things and gingerly plucked up a muffin, got a firm grip, and bit into it. "Ooooh! Banana and macadamia nut! I LOVE this muffin!" Her mouth was full of food, but Lin was used to talking with her mouth full so "Banana" and "LOVE this muffin" were guaranteed crystal clear. She swallowed and slowly readdressed the duo she'd left behind. "Ahh don't worry about it, bro! Ivy's just got a fire in her belly is all! That part doesn't matter. She should look at the stars for example."

Lin took another bite of muffin, so her next words were slightly harder to hear but still doable. "Stars are just big balls of fire. Ivy needs to think of herself like a shooting star: bright and fiery, but constantly moving in one direction toward her short-term goal." Her throat bobbed as another glob of muffin joined the second on its way down her gullet. "Dang I think I'm gonna like it here!" she sighed, satisfied, and picked up a napkin from the table to dab at a couple of crumbs here and there.

S-s-s-scary! *whimpers*

Hey Bloody Mary! How're you doing today? I hope you enjoy our thread Bloody Mary! Your power is definitely unique, Bloody M....phew that was a close one! :/
Being that I love the Star Wars Combine and have read most of the extended universe books (RIP), I feel like this thread is going to be my new home provided it gets off the ground. The plot and the timeframe are about the same as Outbound Flight's departure, yes?

After a minute or so of slinging her backpack down on to the floor, and with one hand grabbing a band-aid out of it, Lin Yang roughly extricated the offending sliver of wood from the pad of her foot and slapped the medicated bandage over the spot. Sighing with relief, she was just about to put her foot back down when she was confronted by a blur that seemed to circle her and spout words.

Lin smirked. This person has got to lay off the Red Bull, she thought. When the speedy, bouncing girl seemed to take a pause for a quick breath, Lin seized her chance to try to get a word in edgewise. "Hey speedy, my name's Lin! You can control fire, huh? I'm new to this camp. Why don't you show me where breakfast is so we can both get our hot little hands on some grub, yeah?" She remembered reading somewhere that when dealing with hyperactive children, it was always best to keep your responses under thirty seconds. With this Ivy girl, it seemed like that rule needed to be cut in half.

The older girl tried to put an arm around Ivy's shoulder, all friendly-like, hoping to help her focus. "As for my power, I don't think I can explain it without some food in my belly. I don't even fully understand it, haha!"

Seeing as I seem to have joined my one chosen group RP while it's on a bit of a slow note, I feel like dabbling in the 1x1 department. Hopefully, this makes it so I have something to reply to each time I login (I aim to login like thrice a day, once in the morning and twice in the evenings for longer periods). My timezone is Pacific Standard.

I am a part of the following fandoms: Throne of Glass, Seven Realms, Eragon, Chronicles of Nick, Terri Blackstock's Restoration series, and anything mythology + modern related (ty Rick Riordan). I mainly like medieval, modern, and space-age sci-fi in that order. Above, I've tagged everything I'm willing to participate in. Romance is untagged, but if it makes sense for the storyline, I am not my character so I can't make that choice for them. Just nothing beyond basic snogging please. The overlying point is that I'm flexible in regards to what your preferred universe is.

Anywho, in regards to that, I am willing to RP either gender, no preference. I've never roleplayed any of these diverse sexual tendenncies, so I'm just going to have any charrie of mine stick to basic hetero. Feel free to be as diverse as you want though. I am one walking, talking safe space! :)

That's another thing....if I ramble on too much, just let me know. I'm a VERY chatty, spur-of-the-moment person and that more often than not slips into my roleplay. If you want me to STFU, then your wish is my command.
